M113 MANUAL SWAP BUYER’S GUIDE! EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW… 

ALRIGHT PEOPLES... I knew I would miss a few things in the list so, please see below: 1) Key detail I forgot to mention (Thank you below!). You need to pay attention to what model you have and what year Engine you have in reference to the Flywheel bolt pattern. Mid 2004 and previous had 8 evenly spaced holes while Mid 2004 and Later have the 4+4 pattern like my C55. 2) I failed to mention all of the miscellaneous items you need for a swap like this, clutch slave and master cylinder, lines, grommets etc. so see parts list below for comparison. (KEEP IN MIND SOME OF THESE YOU DON"T NEED UNLESS YOU ARE GOING FULL OEM) 1. Transmission used was Mercedes 716.667 (Crossfire/C320/Slk320) 2. Flywheel LUK DMF429 or 415028910 or MB 272 030 05 05 (from w203 C350 or w204 c300/350, FCPEuro has the one I got) 3. Flywheel to crankshaft bolts 004-990-59-12 (We had to cut these down by about 8mm, not sure what the correct ones are yet) 8pcs 4. Clutch Kit LUK 11047 (Any clutch kit for w203 C350 or w204 c300/350, other options as well) 5. Pressure plate to flywheel bolts 007984-008003 6pcs 6. Clutch master cylinder 203-290-02-12 (Lots of options for this! Check RockAuto) 7. Brake reservoir to master cylinder line 203-997-27-52 8. Rubber clutch hydraulic line 211-290-30-13 9. Hard clutch hydraulic line 203-290-41-13 10. White hard clutch line clip 124-476-06-40 3pcs 11. Hard clutch line through trans tunnel boot 123-295-01-83, 003-997-24-86 11. Drive shaft 209-410-02-06 (Best option but hard to find used) or 1704102606 (easier to find, will work but a a bit short) or 2044101206 (w204 long so we cut about quarter on an inch off of nose) 12. Shifter assembly 203-260-38-09 (Mercedes calls it Gearshift Mechanism, very hard to find!) (I used crossfire linkage but had to modify a lot) 13. Shifter to transmission pin 203-267-07-74 14. Shifter to trans tunnel bolt 000000-003853-64 2pcs 15. Shifter boot parts (rubber + plastic) 203-267-16-88, 203-267-01-97, 170-267-01-97 16. Shifter cable lever 211-267-03-40 17. Shifter cable lever cap 203-267-04-22 18. Reverse light plug 168-545-27-28 19. Reverse light plug pin 000-540-38-05 2pcs 20. Clutch pedal plug 031-545-32-28 21. I appreciate the info sharing- I am just looking getting the ball rolling on an M156 6sp swap and have been looking through all of your posts and videos... Great stuff! Wish there was a larger DIY enthusiast base for these cars, the internet perception is that they are super expensive and difficult to modify but that doesn't seem to be the case. Slightly unrelated, by what do you think about the PMC swap kits? For me, it is a pretty attractive option because there are not many W212 manual parts available from the factory

I was just thinking, my 98 E430 (and all W210s, and actually, American MBs in general) is one of the few remaining rear wheel drive cars that hadn't been inflated with drift tax yet. Part of me wants everyone to see this so I can have friends out there on the track 😂 but part of me wants nobody to know about this so we don't see yet another price hike on old car parts. Would you mind walking me through what all I'd need for a 1998 E430? I have the old gear selector (non tiptronic) .. but I think I need a new cross member? Not sure if that varies depending on which 210 and which donor trans etc. I also wanted to ask if any crossfire trans will work, or if certain year 210s require certain year donor trans... Thank you!

About the shift linkages etc, could i just use whatever came off the donor car? Instead of pieceing all that stuff together?

Will these Crossfire Manual transmission bolt up to a 1998 w210 E320 v6? I also have a 1999 e300 diesel both auto., I believe a 2002 or older c230 kompressor manual 6spd are a direct bolt on only? Great video Thx

I just picked up a manual transmission for $199 plus $50 core charge. It has the shifter still attached will that work in my w209?

I can only say thanks, your videos are like a gold mine. I have a m113 5.0 engine taking dust for a while because of the hard to find the 716667 gearbox. It's the only way for use this engine on a custom racecar for a reasonable price. Finally I found and bought a 716667 gearbox but i'm a bit worried about how much torque can It handle. I will use a standalone ecu with turbo, probably this engine can reach 650Nm easily with that setup. What are your sensations with the gearbox? Do you think It can handle that amount of power?

Anderzen you rock!! You and #JikJakz are my heroes! This is a fantastic "movement" you guys have started and I always wanted to see this swap being more widespread. I am in NY and I just finished parts gathering for my own 2002 CLK55 but I will wait until we get warmer before I start (or I might just suck it up and go over to my buddy's indy shop and get some help in his warm shop with the lift!) Regarding that elusive driveshaft, I picked up one from a 2001 S430 (RWD 32" long - the AWDs are shorter!) pt #2204102006. I will credit that find to #car-ready smoke-brake. I am bustin at the seems with excitement - cant wait to get it done. I am looking forward to seeing your post for the coding so I can take care of mine when that time comes. Not sure if you or #JikJakz have figured out the reverse light switch yet but I found out that the reverse light switch plugs into the back of the auto shifter, (a pair of grey/yellow wires and brown) so I will just route my reverse switch cable up through the shifter hole and splice those wires in. Excellent presentation man from start to finish!!
