Without the laws of robotics programmed into AI, it's frightening to think of how far off track things could go in the real world IF this was even possible.
i don't get how people overlooked the nuance of the scenario and thought the dancing was funny. given what was happening, i thought the dancing accentuated how fucking terrifying AI will be.
Seeing Megan dance can cross the barrier of being unsettling, creepy and hilarious. Even If It might not be a great film, they nailed the doll's visual concept. The team understood the assignment on the uncanny valley.

The way this movie made me want to see it more and more is that it is by far something that came close to surpassing Chucky in murder doll genres. The M3GAN doll is such a murderous little thug. One of the best movies I have seen so far recently.

Same here. My favourite horror villain is Ghostface but I think M3GAN is a very close second. This is coming from someone who doesn't like killer doll movies but I absolutely love this movie.
@@jordantucker9799 She probably calculated the amount of emotional damage Cady would take over the years with those people being alive and that probably outweighed the amount of temporary emotional damage she would take with them gone.

This is such a good movie. I love it. One of my favourite movies of all time. Must watch. You won't regret it. I saw the movie at the theatre in January and have seen it multiple times since the digital release. I have the DVD and I plan on watching the unrated version this weekend. Great movie. I recommend watching it.

Agreed that's why it's got my intention because to be honest we've already seen different carnations of Chucky and Annabelle but for some reason this feels like it has more potential.
The concept of making the doll a protector who takes her role too far, but is still so child-like that she enjoys it and wants to dance gives it an eerie element of fun. The doll’s ability to articulate herself at an adult level is startling all on its own, and her running on all fours 😳 with, “It’s nice to have a friend,” is perfect! I’m here for how lifelike the doll looks, talks and moves. Her hair is better laid than some real people outchea. 👀💁🏽♀️🤣🤣 Go ‘head M3GAN!
Sci-fi version of nature vs. nurture; the only problem is that both sides conflict with the goal: Being a girl’s friend and protecting her from sadness and loneliness, which are not possible all the time. Just looking at this trailer makes me think its ending will have Megan come back in some other form. Or worse, she becomes a mass production and then there’s more than one deranged android out in the world based off the original.
Why do I find this so sweet?! Having someone to protect you from any kind harm is... a really huge thing. Megan over did it, but she did it. She understood her assignment properly and like a good robot completed it. It's not her fault that many human things are not just black and white like her commands suggest.
Its basically why Skynet concept made the whole Terminator series. Skynet wanted to eradicate humans. All robots if start becoming sentient like us then they will start killing us. Its only humans that Murder and blackmail and stuff like that. Not animals, not robots for them its black & white.

@@lifadysi9418 sure. Originally I was writing a story called “The Green Knights” that took place on a planet called Quest World. Though that was in the very first draft and most of the names are completely different now. (I chose to change the title of The Green Knights because of movie with a similar title lol). The story I’m writing is now called “The Viridian Knights” and takes place on a continent called Li’Thorsis.
This is how the future will be…y’all need to start paying attention. That robot look like a actual human and they been already trying to create them in real life
@@SyLuX636 2019 was an AI doll that did the exact same thing as this one. Chucky wasn’t possessed in that one. This is just basically the same thing with more human movements.
This is really something. Megan’s eyes, her movements, and her voice is what makes her creepy. The dancing is funny and random at the same time. The music is great. I love when artists’ music is used as horror music for trailers or even as a eerie song choice for a scene in a film. Also, this film is in my Birthday Month. This will be a treat for me to see when it comes out in theaters.
went to see it last night thinking Id be unable to sleep but the audience in the cinema last night genuinely laughed around 20 times ; the bit when Megan sang titanium brought the house down and by the dance, the family sat infront of me were choking on their popcorn. Im lost for words

Often times the scariest moment involving a horror movie with a robot is the moment it gains sentience. "I'm afraid I can't let you do that, John" "I thought we were having a conversation"
Gave it a watch. Decent movie. Wouldn't say it was scary, but it kept my attention. I enjoyed the overall idea of the film. Tried not to let the whole Chucky argument overshadow the film.
