I watched Kenneth Williams sing this spoof song (that he wrote, I believe, in conjunction with Gordon Jackson?). They took a load of French words, names, sayings (that we use in the English language) and strung them together in a nonsensical fashion - making a song 'in the style of' Charles Aznavour. I took out/changed some of the words (particularly towards the end) as there were some I wanted to add myself (particularly 'J' accuse' - a song title from my band Luigi's back catologue.. and the use of Papa and Nicole, from a famous TV advert ...and so on ...decoupage indeed! Enjoy!

Very nice - excellent updating of the song, and well sung. I'm in the process of trying to add Zinedine Zidane, or if that's too hard, Thierry Henri or David Ginola. Kylian Mbappé might be a bit too difficult. :)

I thought I noticed a few slight changes. Brilliantly done - guitar work I mean. Where did you get the lyrics and the music from?

Hi M.B ...I rewrote the lyric slightly, just to update it a tad ...but it was based on the version I saw Kenneth Williams sing on the BBC (I believe I searched for it on RU-vid til I found the one I remembered from years ago). The music... well, I just worked out my own accompaniment by ear ...the original had KW accompanied by a piano! - so no help with the chords there! I just fumbled about til I found something that worked. All the best - Duncan

Was Pappa & Nicole your contribution & not in the original KW lyric? IF so, Smart addition.

Yes - I rewrote the lyric slightly, just to update it a tad. 'Papa/Nicole' was mine - but there are others... 'Liaison dangereuse' and 'soixante neuf' for example ...you'll have to compare it to KW's original ;o)
