Maajid Nawaz is calling for a national inquiry, similar to the one into Stephen Lawrence's murder, into grooming gangs in the United Kingdom.
Maajid Nawaz recalled Stephen Lawrence's murder and the Macpherson Inquiry that followed.
He noted that the Macpherson report "coined the phrase 'institutional racism', and shifted the debate in this country around race permanently and forever."
Speaking of the grooming gangs scandals 27 cities, he said: "This grooming gang scandal must be investigated on a national level in the same way because this is institutional misogyny."
He continued: "The fear ... of anti-Muslim bigotry must never be an excuse to allow underage girls to be raped and abused in this way. But it was.
"Think of that. Imagine that 27 cities and counting... because I can guarantee you we haven't heard the end of this yet. Imagine the thousands of victims. Imagine the impunity with which these men must have been acting."

He was put in jail. So you can imagine why people don't come out and say something. I wrote a letter to MPs. I did as much as I could. I still do because I personally know about 5 of the victims. One of them I still speak to; she's got on with her life and doesn't see herself as a victim. The problem is, people are so caught up blaming the victims. We have to stop this now. Women and children are *vulnerable* . Time to put them first.

By the end of the day, the Stephen Lawrence case made people become so, politically correct. They never, ever, ever thought to think - it doesn't matter: "a crime is: a crime!" You can't say it clearer. I know about 5 victims in my lifetime. You quite rightly, put it! Get angry. I got angry when people turned on those victims. Because, that's what you've done - blamed the victims. I tell you. I stuck up for these women and children. Tommy Robinson went to jail, defending these women. It is frightening; to speak out. But, I flipping did it. I have already wrote a letter about my thoughts on the matter to MPs. But, it's about their financial disposition. To degrade children in this manner. Wrong on so many levels.

They DO.........a pakistani man in my home town of Halifax has recently been sentenced to 18 years for his part in grooming girls and giving them drugs.........I knew him, he was my drug dealer........obviously, I didnt know he did that.

There is one over riding factor that shouldn't be forgotten about this crime and that these were children who had been taken away from there own parents because the courts had deemed that children services would do a better job protecting them then there own parents. You have to remember that those poor kids would have been separated from there family and kept away from them and there is no way that any of these authorities will ever admit that they were wrong.

My father literally helped rebuild the country after being in WWII. He always said that it would be better not to import large numbers of immigrants in 1950s and 60s, even if it took a decade longer to get the country sorted out. (He supported us taking in refugees in real need.) Various polls taken after Enoch Powell's famous speech showed a large majority of public supported Powell. Now, I don't blame individuals who came here for a better life, nor their offspring and every person who is now here legally properly has as much right as anyone. However, I can't help thinking that my father's vision would have kept the UK as something more distinctive, more cohesive and a place that I would prefer to have lived in.

Nawaz is quite correct. But it's about more than "grooming." It's about checking a sub-culture quite at odds with our western liberal democracy before it's too late and we end up like France or Sweden. It is about acting now to PROTECT the freedom we offer to ALL.
