Well done Kay just remember to keep stirring whilst adding the milk and turn the heat down you don’t need to have the butter boiling just melt it, add the flour then slowly add the milk then bring to a slow simmer. Add the cheese and the pasta then you can add more cheese before you put it in the oven. Nice with some garlic bread 😊 thumbs up!
Good for you for taking charge of your own videos and having fun Kay, honestly your taste tests and reactions are superb! Glad everything with Lee is fine too of course!
Whatever you post, Kay, I will watch it. Anything. Please keep doing what you're doing. Watching your energy is so wonderful and you laugh is so infectious. Also, that Mac looks SO GOOD!!!! Well done!
@@KaysCooking no thank you! And gosh thanks for the reply! I'll keep viewing you and I'm really routing for you. You seem like such a sweet lady and I really hope the very best💜💜
Do you know what Kay, this is the best video I’ve seen since you started RU-vid in 2015. You did bloody well with that recipe and I’d eat that it looks really nice. GOOD ON YOU for learning how to do the camera work by yourself. What an inspiration, a good cook and now a good camera worker. Onwards and upwards for this channel I reckon! All the best pal! You’re doing really well, we’ve said this for years and you’ve finally learned how to do it so all the best to you Kay.
@@EchoSappho what’s a vegan bacon bit? Like tofu?, also just a question? Why even call it bacon still? If the eating of animals is the problem why name it after the dead animals? And last thing why don’t vegans respect plants life? Plants are alive to i grow medical marijuana and know for a fact plants can listen to music and 100000% have feelings too they just cant express them as easily
You're doing a great job of running the show by yourself!! And I love seeing you get to taste your dishes instead of just Lee. This dish reminded me of my mother-in-law's recipe. She used stale bread crumbs instead of flour and also baked hers. Yours looks like it's creamier and smoother. Yum!!
That did look right nice. Macaroni Cheese is probably my favourite Italian meals. I like to eat mine the traditional way, with a nice glass of fizzy drink and a plate of gerkins while sitting ont the sand at the beach, just like they do in Rome. I have never had a Macaroni Cheese that I have never liked, except for at one time when a lady gave me macaroni cheese that was disgusting. Fumbs up.
Kay, you're doing an amazing job multitasking! Reading the ingredients, working the stirring, and adjusting the camera! The camera work was great, too so I think you're doing a great job handling it by yourself. Best wishes and please take care of yourself!
My husband, daughter and I LOVE watching you cook! You are a bright spot in our day. We think you are amazing, please keep doing what you're doing. Love that you're doing your own camera xoxo
Well done kay. My 7 month old baby boy absolutely loves you. Everytime I put one of your videos on as soon as he hears your voice his little face lights up.
I like it when your Lee is with you, because of the way you are together it's really lovely to see, the laugh you both have ... And also a Big 👍up doing it yourself, the big smile on your face with you doing on your own says it all .. Love watching your videos with you, Lee & you being on your own ... Looking forward to more videos from you .... 👍👏
Kay, if you're redoing this recipe at all in the future, you'll want to use equal parts butter and flour. And that was a lot of butter and flour. You'd be fine with using 2 or 3 TABLESPOONS of butter and an equal part of flour. So yes, melt the butter on medium heat. Add the flour and stir until smooth. And then I would use 1 cup of milk per table spoon of butter. So 2 cups of milk if I'm using 2 tablespoons of butter. But stir it in 1 cup of milk at a time. And again, keep it on a medium temperature. And then you add grated cheese and continue mixing until its your desired thickness (I usually put extra cheese). Add whatever you want to that. Salt, pepper, I like adding onion and garlic with some paprika and cayenne to mine but do whatever you want. You're so sweet 😭 I'm glad you're having fun. Keep it up, I can tell you've made great progress over the years
Amazing Kay! Great camera work and there isn't a more wholesome and lovely cook anywhere on RU-vid as far as me and my wife are concerned. You're making us feel more adventurous to try cook new meals!
Use a balloon whisk to whisk the roux, helps it to be smooth and lower the heat. You needed about half the flour (50g flour 50g butter 500ml milk)It takes about 15 mins to cook the roux and it eventually thickens. But good job.
Thanks for the update, really glad you're both happy, and that you've taken over the camera work because you wanted to learn how. I love learning new things in adulthood, it's a great feeling. Well done! X
Thank you Kay. I have a terrible headache and you always make me feel better especially with the wonderful Mac and cheese. You have have a soothing quality soul and heart
Looks good kay just one problem... More cheese!!!!!! You should have roughly 50/50 Cheese and pasta, that way it solidifies into a brick in the fridge and you can make deep fried Mac and cheese with the leftovers. Mmmm Tastes like America. Just kidding of course, Add as much or as little cheese as you like, I typically do a blend of cheddar, America, Asiago, and some Mozzarella on top with Bread Crumbs, Mmmm
Looks great. One thing I might suggest is to add a thin layer of breadcrumbs to the top before putting it in the oven. This will give it a nice additional texture and make it just that much better without really any more effort.
Kay, I am so proud of the chef you are becoming, your recipes are really improving over time. And I love watching your reactions to the yummy-ness. Keep on cooking!
I would suggest using a whisk to add the milk and flour and to make sure the sauce is super smooth. You're amazing! Keep cooking and learning and having fun with it! 😘
I love watching Kay, she is my go to You tube channel, hats off to her doing it on her own as a you tuber myself it’s not always easy especially the editing. She is being very pro active and we should encourage her for that. Well done Kay keep going you are amazing 😊
Easy peasy mac and cheese: 16 oz macaroni..16 ounces sharp cheddar cheese..8 ounces colby jack cheese..16 ounces heavy whipping cream..1 stick melted butter..3 cups milk.. Put everything in a 13 x 9 pan and stir. Bake for at least an hour at 350 degrees. Check noodles. If they are still a bit hard bake longer. My oven takes a bit longer. I also use throw away pans as I dont like cleaning pans when making this.
That is the whole point. That you are enjoying yourself cooking. I am so proud of the progress you are making. I knew you could do it. I love the pride you have with filming and editing. I'm still a new channel. I don't know how to edit. Because of you I am going to learn. You have showed me you can do anything you set your mind to. I thought I was to old to learn new tricks. Thank you Kay.💙💙 Remember Salt and Pepper are your friend. They help your food taste better. I normally taste as I cook and add salt and pepper to taste.
I never thought anything about you doing your own camera work, but you're doing fine! I love your videos, just as they are. You don't need anything fancy. Here in the United States, mac 'n' cheese, at its most basic, is simply elbow pasta with melted cheese mixed in (not on top). Yes, you usually add butter, milk/cream, and at least salt, too. It can be baked and have other ingredients added (some people like bacon, ham, vegetables, herbs, and/or spices added) but that's not basic. Some of us love a 3- or 4-cheese mac. So, yeah, the cheese can often be overpowering, but for cheese lovers (like me), it's all good! 😁 Oh! It's usually served in a bowl if eaten by itself. If it accompanies a dinner as a side dish, it might go on a plate. It really doesn't matter what you eat it out or off of, though. That's true of almost anything you eat (I do recommend a bowl for thin soups, though 😂), of course. To be honest, I'm not even sure whether it's more "proper" to eat it with a spoon or a fork, even here in the States, but I like a spoon. That said, eat it however you like. 😊
Hi Kay, I’d suggest heating the butter and milk on a low heat before adding the flour for a much nicer consistency, the flour is added to simply thicken the sauce, so not much is needed Cheese is better added to the sauce while on the stove so it melts into the sauce and creates a creamy, cheesy Mac n cheese! I find the best cheese to use also is a mix of cheddar and mozzarella
Nice Kay, cooked my first mac and cheese yesterday, but I have used less flour, so it turned out more smooth, you should try that maybe you will like it.
When you are stirring in the butter flour and milk it's called a rue. With the rue you can cheese to make a Mac and cheese or you can add chicken stock if you want to make a chicken sauce xxx
