wish i had some of them this morning two broken starter bolts i was on the mac truck two days ago i’m in canada he prob didn’t show them maybe he didn’t have them i’ll check next time the mac truck is around they look like they work very well good video boys look like great bolt extractors

Bluepoint had this tool out over 40 years ago, part number 1020, except they included drill guides and drill bits with their kit. Hang in there, Mac tools, you’ll catch up and maybe another couple decades.

Another great video. These tool videos are awesome. Having more and BETTER options in the field makes such a difference. Being able to do what others can't or won't is what sets us apart. I’ve had the regular RBRT SAE/metric set for 8 or 9 months and warrantied out only my 1/4”. It held on well enough to snap the bit without hurting the Allen head cap screw.

i like to see a demo of a real snapped of bolt like something that didn’t break of clean and it’s recessed a little like a starter bolt were he drills it first the whole show but they do look good

Good video. I have blue point which is similar except that it does have the extractor. Set was made by rigid because their name is on the drills. Broken bolt removal is an art form and prefect results make you better. Like when wild bill has to fix wally's screw ups.

Wish I had these last week, had a F650 the rear bottom bolt to the shocks broke off, long story short I had a broken tap in there and had to get the ole burr bits out.

Have they demoed their Mac "Precision Torque" sockets for you yet? That's another Mac Tools Exclusive for removing bolts with a rounded head (And they work good with non-rounded bolts too). If you've not seen those Precision Torque sockets yet, prepare to have your mind blown all over again. . . . one of the technical magazines did an article a few years ago when those first came out and called them the world's best sockets.

Believe it or not, I can definitely use one of these sets in my construction and remodeling/flipping business. You'd be surprised at how many shower mixers that can easily be rebuilt and reused, but the screws are corroded too much for a simple screw driver to release. So I find myself replacing the mixer, which is costly and time consuming. Definitely going to flag down the next MAC Tool truck I see going down the road.

The drilling part,the drawback is drilling in too far causing more problems if with a broken off bolt.I watched my dad do it once,right into a water jacket in a cylinder head

Best tip I have been given is; Before you try centre punch the centre of the bolt, Sharpie mark the centre first, look at it, if it's not right, wipe off with acetone and try again. You can have as many goes as you want with a Sharpie, a centre punch is permanent. When you have it dead centre you have a good guide for the centre punch.

Wonder how well they would have worked on my 30 year old original, seized exhaust bolts… the bolt would barely move but it would then get stuck in either directions… When heat, penetrating oil, and working it back and forth for half and hour didn’t work I had to use my 36” breaker bar and still no luck!!! Finally the head snapped and I had no choice but to drill & tap 😭

Thankfully in aviation it's so rare to deal with broken bolts that I probably don't need this (and I have the full snap on extraction kit which is also very nice) however screws on the other hand..... If you think that's cool I need to introduce you to the J bar.

These are bad ass...but there's been a couple broken....no biggie....that's why I prefer mac drill bits over HyperStep...I've got both but I know every single bit is cobalt and covered by MAC

I prefer Snap on extractors. They work every time. Another advantage of Snap on is that they are smaller. You need a lot of space to use this one.

These seem pretty good, but I can’t tell you how many times I’ve used a torx bit to extract a broken bolt after I drill A whole into it. Yea that torx bit isn’t in the greatest shape but it’s worked and if the torx bit is mangled I get it warrantied. Now I would really get these. I’m going to get with my Mac guy and get a set of these! Thanks for the video and salutations all the way from the state of Washington!

Looks like an amazing tool. Sadly I cannot let myself purchase it due to receiving zero support from my local Mac dealer AND the Mac main office when trying to purchase a new battery cover (screw-on at end of handle) for my digital torque wrench. Didn't ask for a free one, said I wanted to BUY one. Sad such horrible support on an expensive modern professional tool.

Like to see it on a broken 3/8 bolt in Michigan truck frame that's seen 10 winters. Going to look at price and that will determine if its worth trying. Ohhh oh 254 for 7 extractors. Want to see the real world test I put at the beginning of this post . I can buy a mig welder for that price now and Weld a nut to it.

Nope we have been lucky about getting broken bolts out. Luckily I’m pretty good at it. Lots of cussing usually but I can get ‘em out.

If it’s a really tight fastener that’s tight enough to break the head off something tells me this won’t then remove the bolt after the head of the bolt couldn’t

Does mac make longer or varying length versions of these for recessed allen cap head screws? When the hole is smaller than the sleeve the extractor sits in it obviously creates a problem. Was recently in a situation trying to remove a valve block over a welded top canopy. Rounded out bolts with no room for a drill and bit..."grab the torch" situation.
