I think the picture is meant to represent a time of innocence that has since been lost. Hotel Diablo shows what that loss of innocence can turn into and it's dark. My heart breaks for MGK.
@@GetFuktPriusOwners Bro, there are like million people with problems like that and plus they are poor af. But nobody cares because they are not famous.
@@solodolo4964 If I am hater I wouldn't watch this video and like his album, just fed up with these pathetic fans who pity him even he live his best life.
Damn Colson Baker you have touched so many people with the way you talk the way you sing, the way you are, PLEASE don’t be the ‘next one’ by ‘next one’ don’t leave us
I love how throughout the whole album is pain, struggle, real thoughts, contemplating suicide,& it ends with I Think I'm Okay💯💯🔥🔥 Absolutely should be Album of the Year💯💯 Hope all is well, keep ya head up Kells, you definitley one of the best 💯💯
dude, never thought about the connection of the 13 songs with "i think I'm ok". (Whats wrong with me) life sometimes is like Roulette But it is a beautiful ending. XX
"We need to feel again" bro..this shit is deep it would normally make me uncomfortable but no I'm here for it. I'm here to listen to ever thought even if its deep, dark, sad, scary don't matter if you need for us to listen we here
I’m so beyond thankful for his album. The only thing in my life at night that makes me feel somewhat alright and that I can get over this shit too. He has a beautiful soul
The Album was beautiful, a work of art, a project that gave you visuals that need to be displayed. It breaks my heart. It made me cry. I love Hotel Diablo so much and I love you MGK♥️♥️
dude when i listened to candy originally i bawled my eyes out, i usually pay attention to the lyrics when i listen to a song, and those lyrics coming from mgk especially really hit hard, people these days paint drugs as this amazing thing and yeah sometimes they can be “cool” or “fun” in moderation but when someone’s clearly struggling you need to help them...this album truly was moving... i grew up in a situation similar to colson when it came to my mom and listening to this album truly changed me
The album is amazing - I’ve been listening non-stop. Sad to see this interview he looks like crap. I’ve been there. He needs help. Yes, the album clearly states he needs help as well.
@@johnmathewmanuel1933 You do realise that these artists don't take diss track as seriously as some blind fans.. It's business and publicity for both the parties so a win win situation
And the world will never understand him even when he tries to narrow it down, his mind is so out of this world that simple minded people take one verse from this heart felt album and run with it. I love him 🖤 I’m here for all of this 🖤 watching him from 2012 to now is just such an amazing thing to witness, hella proud of him 👏🏼😭🖤
For everyone saying MGK is not ok...go get the album, he is talking to us about what's wrong. Someone betrayed him, the industry is taking everything from him but not paying him what he has earned. The partying is taking it's toll, his head is his enemy. He is trying to be better, trying to beat his addictions and fix what he has damaged inside. Just....listen.
Colson Baker is my #1 favorite artist I’ve ever listened to. He’s real. He’s honest. And he’s not into any popular movement bullshit. Keep speaking your thoughts and putting your voice on paper and I will always be there to listen. Fan since 2011. EST4LIFE
Okay but when he gets the award for it remember this comment 😂 I’m glad I can have my own opinions and not have to clown artist who make quality music because it’s not trendy and this is coming from a huge Eminem fan
Yo Colson, You've always been a real dude, keep up the great work. We have to face our fears to live on. Grow through what you go through. You got this! rise up to where you know you can be! ✌💪
everyone goes through their ups n downs n cope with it all differently..or even the same. One never knows till they get to know that person. Each person has the power inside themselves to be great, with whatever battle they are fighting.. Duality.
This interview breaks my heart. Hotel Diablo is a beautiful, deep, dark album, and you can hear the pain and the lostness, but to literally see it in this interview just adds to those senses and impacts those feelings. I never ever had any time for mgk, and I’ll be honest I only started listening to him when Hotel Diablo came out and have since gone back and listened to as much as I can, as often as I can, and I’ve watched as many interviews as I possibly can in the day, and all I can say is I’m so disappointed for not taking any notice any sooner!!
Yeah, I feel similar. I first saw him live in 2015. Since than I literally watched every live show, Interview and Kellyvision that I found. He's a beautiful, emphatically and complex thinking Person and that's awesome XX
This album is so heart felt. He left everything on the table his honesty on it is a masterpiece. I think once he hits rock bottom things will change for him. There is something about being in a dark place for so long that you have to be your own light to find your way out. Hopefully he does because he can be that change he wants to be...
Ever since BINGE I’ve been saying he needs to drop the “Rap Devil” persona. I’m glad to see he did, I know it wasn’t easy for him. But he is a 10X better artist when he is honest, and just being himself not that bullshit he did before , I’m glad to see him move on, much respect - a Eminem Stan 👍
lol only call it bullshit because he was dissing your fav artist. but i get it. hopefully you can be a real genuine person and actually take the time to listen to and enjoy his amazing ass music! 👍🏻
Watching this a year back it is so obvious to see how much colson is hurting. Kells dad died on July 5th which was shortly before this interview. Therefore, it’s pretty certain that he was really hurting during this time. He is so strong ❤️
I don’t even know him and I think about him all the time because I watch interviews like this and then I see him with the biggest smile and it makes me so sad🖤 thank you for making my life better than it’s ever been, I’m eternally grateful 🖤
Colson. I hope you get sober brother. IT isnt easy. I was hooked on shit from 16 till i turnes 21 (ironic since 21 is a big party deal) anything you can think of. I did it. I did my crazy shit early on. Im a six time suicide survivor, and I'm clean brother. 2years and 7months. You dont need the drugs they give you for recovery. You don't need to believe its a disease and that your weak. You gotta vent about your feelings, get into healthy habits, fitness, recconect with your true self again and focus on helping others and finding that peace inside. We know you can bro. #EST4Life
Despite how good Mgks newer music is, Hotel diablo will forever be my favourite album by Kells. I feel like it has generally saved my life and will continue to do so as I get older.
This was a really great interview, it isn't often he seems that interested in them but the questions/ whole vibe was really good despite the dark subject, I hope you interview him again in the future :)
i love you kells!!! the drive you have is why i’ve always been a fan. every album you’ve done is the best but hotel diablo is THEE best ❤️happy your in a good wave
@@breannaphipps3958 He's going to get himself killed if he keeps this up. The fact he relies on drugs and alcohol this much is already concerning enough.
@@Beatriz_MS I'm not saying it's a good thing I understand its horrible and I'm sure he knows it to but I know what it's like to be an addict and it's not easy.
MGK is an extremely intelligent, very deep thinker. It’s obvious that he’s working through some issues which is exhausting in itself, but it also seems like the man never stops! He’s busy ALL the time. I really wish he would take an amazing vacation, get some rest and know that his true fans will still be here for him, no matter what! Much love to MGK 🥰
This is heavy... And its real... And I love it. A lot of us struggle with this stuff, but we can't all talk about it. Thank you for giving us a voice and for showing us you're just like us. You're amazing and so fucking strong, but you're not the type to be a statistic, so keep fighting. I love you MGK... Thank you for your music, ESPECIALLY this album...
Loved mgk since day one lead you on helped me feel not alone dudes a legend, I hope he gets clean again I couldnt imagine having endless money and being an addict its a death trap
MGK, please don't be another Mac, please don't be another Kurt, please don't be another Amy. We need your work in the world, but way more than that, you need to be ok for YOU and your daughter and those closest to you. We need you to stay with us.
hope he gets the help he truly needs you can still see it in his face, not the biggest mgk fan but this album resonated with me and i could definitely relate to a lot of stuff he was saying. Please get some help and I hope you get through this.
Absolutely incredible album🔥the honesty is beautiful! But kells PLEASE be okay! We love&care for you soo much ❤🙏 youve helped me so much i wish i could help you uhh i really do..😕
5:22 When are people gonna actually listen to what I'm trying to say? I can definitely hear it in the songs he's been putting out. Been hearing it for years. But I think now the Hotel Diablo album, the album itself is screaming the emotions out more louder than before. So I think MGK's right. People are gonna hear what he's saying THIS time around loud and clear if they didn't hear it before. And when he was talking about Candy, I can feel the sadness in the song and I think when some people hear that song, they cope. Like, it's a sad song but in the way it's made, like, it sounds like it's made for people to cope with it by just listening to that song.
Stay strong mgk you have still accomplished your dream , I feel like you sometimes but at the end of the day I have accomplished something to and have to be happy on that and if it works out it dose if not we tried our best
I know he’s not okay :/ MGK even admitted jokingly on the Impaulsive podcast that he was on this during that time, and that during another time. I think he made Candy as more of a radio hit because he wants people to truly understand him, especially with the visuals accompanied. Wishing him the best
We know you're hurting MGK. Using to cope helps temporarily but in the long run is detrimental to your health mentally, physically, and emotionally. We love and support you always. EST4LIFE❌❌
Michael Hobart I noticed that too, besides clearly being depressed I bet anxiety is be for him too now, I suffer from bad Anxiety myself and it effects me the same sometimes. He even said he basically didn't have any Seritonin.if you don't know what it is google it. Depression, Anxiety losing a loved one, and drug use fucks with u mind bad! He's probably medicated ATM too. Or self medicating to be numb
