I agree. Extremely underrated no idea why besides the only obvious reason really. He's as good as any of the great lead guitarists and his leads have soul where a lot of other lead guitarists don't.
Funny he made peanuts for hammering that bass in ST and IG, but he gets big bucks for playing straight 4's in Metallica. I bet he has a bracelet with dollar signs to remind him why he's in Metallica.
@@rollotomassi4768 yeah I always say it’s a shame he couldn’t of stayed in suicidal but nah musician with half a brain would take the Metallica gig, one tour and u never have to work a day again in your life😂
@@SausageFingers420 you're totally right man, Rocky George "Is still alive and is still a bad ass". Thanks for the correction 👍 sincerely Lorenzo gig harbor Washington
Actually, I liked the line up before this one as well. The one that recorded the album Can't Bring Me Down. Unpopular maybe, but the last bass player was cool too. Sort of 1a or 1b.
Since its release, this song has always been my antidepressant. Whenever I’m feeling down, I feel it. I throw this song on. It always works. Thank God! Thanks suicidal.
one of the few bands where i can relate to the lyrics and/or pay attention to them. the band's name is what kept people from listening to them as Mike Muir has mentioned in a couple of interviews. when i need a break from human silliness, i like listening to rocky's solo during how will i laugh tomorrow. great stuff.
Yeah those teenage angst years were certainly helped significantly by this one song. Better than any pharmaceutical product for lifting you out of a hole 😁
Or worse, they question Robert's skills as a bass player because they only know metallica and have not heard the music he wrote with infectious grooves and suicidal, it is a real shame
Year 1993, Vallecas (Madrid). I was there 21 years of age. First band The Cult, then Suicidal, then Metallica. Great concert, Suicidal clearly demolished the show. I think I was the only one wearing a Suicidal shirt in the bus that took us from Barcelona to Madrid :) Suicidal For Everrrrr !!
+Matheus Alexandre There is nothing wrong with enjoying thrash and being gay. Thrash was the best thing that ever came out of the 80's and til this day is the best in the metal genre.
I saw them in 93 when they opened for Megadeth at the Bronco Bowl in Dallas Texas, damn good sound and show from this lineup. Right across the hallway from the concert hall was a bowling alley and bar. Long gone now but the memories remain.
@@hawkinsgeneralstore7405 same year opening for danzig and metallica. great show. plus a band called Spud Monsters was free in the picnic area and they jumped up on the tables on were playing while people were having lunch. good times.
This music shows off his incredible talent more but if Kirk, James and Lars say he belongs who are we to say no. He is one of the most talented basists in the world playing in the greatest band. of course he belongs.
@@chorizo108 You think Rob was forced into Metallica? No. He also made the decision to join. And don't give me that 'i-know-the-musician-better-than-they-know-themselves' bullshit because you don't. It was his choice. And if you don't respect that choice, then go listen to Nickelback.
Suicidal whole band just full on ROCKY ripping those riffs Mike headbanging till his head drops off Robs full on bass attack all those guys unbelievable back in the day!!!!!
Met them once at a gas station in Baker California back in 1989 as they got off their bus. The town may have had 100 people in then, it was in the middle of nowhere. My brother and I were helping my father move from Palm Springs to Las Vegas. They were all really cool and seemed to all get along like brothers for the 10 minutes we talked to them anyway.
the way Mike jumps all over the place is so damn funny xDDD i swear he has the best stage presence any lead does in any punk grooup he's like a fucking atom bomb
If you’re old enough (as I am) to remember just how ferociously AWESOME this band was, take into consideration that 1993 was sort of the end of the prime ST. If you imagine it, They were even greater in the mid/late 80’s!!! Rocky George severely under rated.
I can’t argue with that as I missed the first 3/4(ish) I found them at “Nobody Hears” and their “last album” (in my mind) Suicidal for Life was a great way to go, not to mention this particular tour (opening for Metallica) was sooo good! 🤘🏽
I saw them live during this tour at Quebec City with Danzig and Metallica. At 14 years old,it was my 1st show. hell of a show!! i miss this lineup badly... Rocky George is wayyyy underrated!

Can't bring me down! You can't bring me down! Suicidal
If I didn't know better I'd think Mike was on some hellacious meth but he says he never done any drugs so this dude is just amped! Or is his way of saying drugs do him he don't do drugs? Writers! You always gotta second guess them.....
Spanish Fans!!!
A multiracial/ethnic lineup of Suicidal Tendencies??? SUPERCOOL! I think this particular version of the band best defined the diverse L.A. scene back then and even now (though that bass player's currently in Metallica and the guitar player Rocky George is with Fishbone as of today). Really, really nice seeing this...
And do not forget Jimmy DeGrasso, who also played in the best line up of Megadeth ever. I saw ST in that era at Dynamo Open Air, will never forget that. They really killed it!
DAMN! This was fucking awesome! They look like a bunch of roadies got up on stage and started to shred. The had to play fast before security would kick them off.
Underrated band! I have to admit I've "ignored" them during my "thrash" phase but now that I'm revisting thrash, glad I've discovered ST! Even though I'm not a hip hop fan, ST is a different beast altogether, they're much more of a thrash/metal band. The fact that they've innovated and combined hip hop elements into metal actually makes them innovators.
I have always loved this band,, through good and bad,, they always brought it hard.. Best mosh pits back in the early skate days. If your ever feeling tired, put on some good earphones and crank this song and you will wake the fuck up. Always works. ST
Mike Muir is a fuckin genius, way ahead of his time. Read his lyrics, he wrote about shit 40 years ago what happend today. And by the way, he had an absolute Bad ass stage presents, killer Performance 🫡🫡
3:57 sounds almost like Snow by Red Hot Chilli Peppers. Brings me back to my teen years BMX and Skateboarding. Buying records downtown and hanging out.
@@madcrabber1113 Because he's average. He would never be a hired gun like Jimmy Degrasso, who has played not only with Suicidal Tendencies, but also with Megadeth and heavier glam metal bands like Dokken and Ratt. Oh yeah, Alice Cooper and Ozzy too.
@@jimmyjohnson1426 Lars is a solid drummer. Of course there's a million other better drummers, but too many people falsely claim he ain't a good drummer.
when I used to go to record store to buy Suicidal Albums they would have it located in rock section mother fucker at the counter told me they was more funk than metal so I told him to put a Reo speedwagon album on then a Suicidal album he never even listened to Suicidal I been a fan since the 80s
Robert leaving wasn't easy...he was the funky heartbeat...but Rocky George was just the soul. Just never the same. Songwriting, everything. What I wouldn't do just to hear one more complete album from the og members.
Suicidal changed my life! They were literally what set my morals and ideas of what life is like. I was 12 when I first heard them, they were the first band I saw live and at 44 still the most influential band on my life!
