Thank you again! You've been my quilt teacher for quite some time now, not bad 1/2 way around the world! I watch, quilt, watch, quilt until the quilting looks vaguely like yours. The donation quilts I make are my practice pieces & you know what? The receivers in the aged care homes adore them & they think they're perfect & thats all that matters......... & I am getting pretty good now! Thanks Angela from Hobart, Tasmania, Australia ♡♡♡

Loved the beginning of this video. Just as my eyes began to tear up, you made me laugh. Thank you for all you do for us beginner free motion quilters. Because of your videos, I completed 2 quilts with your techniques and gave them to some dear friends. I knew of all the mistakes and began pointing them out. The only thing they knew was that the quilts were fantastic. One of them loves fishing, boating, lighthouses. The fabrics and quilting encompassed all that using what designs I could find along with using all your fillers and designs. Same with the other quilt which was made with cat fabrics. Designs, motifs and everything to do with their hobbies. I was very proud of my work and praised you as my teacher to them. No more stitch in the ditch for me. It is your encouragement and I can only thank you.

A HUGE thumbs up for this video!! If only all of the well meaning, but totally serious, FMQ instructors approached quilting in this way to us "newbies", we might actually be more fearless and there by learn more. Thanks!

I’m a beginner quilter, I’ve only made two quilts ever. The first one was 12 years ago and was only straight seam quilted. I’m still working on quilting the second one but it has feathers, pebbles, loopy meandering and lots of other stuff. None of it is perfect, and I chose a thread colour that is too dark, so it’s definitely not hiding anything. But I really like it anyway. I practiced the pattern with doodling on a piece of paper without lifting the pen. It’s a really good way to train your brain before doing it on the machine.

After a month of stressing, practicing, watching countless RU-vid and Craftsy class videos, and LOTS AND LOTS of mini practice quilt sandwiches, I finally dove in and started FMQ a real quilt! It's coming along nicely, and I keep reminding myself that practice makes perfect, and let the mistakes become part of the design ;) No one but me will see the uneven stitches, or dots of bunched thread

And let's not forget about the quilt tops with colors you once thought were stunning. Now you wonder what you were thinking. You don't even want to waste time quilting it. Not that I have any like that. But if I did.....you have given me an idea. I'll buy a cheap cotton sheet (should I find such an ugly quilt top somewhere) for the backing and practice whatever design I have planned for my next quilt. Thanks Angela! I also love the idea of saying some prayers for the recipient of the quilt. I am making quilts for sick kids. A quilt is a hug and I think about the child and their family. I know it means so much to receive a hug from someone that cares about you even if you don't know them.🤗

pretty strong word to use. whatever it is Angela encourages us to do I hope it's not to make ''ugly'' quilts... or ''ugly'' anything. (world has enough of that already)

It was really nice to see you quilt in real time and to realize how slowly you move the quilt. I got my free motion quilting foot back out and seriously cut down on the loops & "eyelashes" on the back of my current quilt by simply slowing WAY down. Thanks for your videos, this is one of my favorite channels!

Angela, This video finally pushed me to drop the needle and actually machine quilt my first full-sized quilt! I've practiced, and practiced, but was so afraid to start! Now that I am half way through, I feel so exhilarated and empowered. NO MORE FEAR!!! I love your series but this episode was great, and right to the point, and finally gave me the courage to do it!!! Thank you, thank you, thank you!!

This is so helpful! I’ve never machine quilted before, but now I’ve thrown together a small quilt top for an under sink space curtain in my laundry area, and the fabric I’ve used is salvaged from my three sons’ colorful boxer shorts!

Angela you inspire me like you wouldn’t believe. I have learned so much from your videos. I am working on my first quilt now and it’s just meandering the entire quilt. I was so intimidated at first but I got through the first block and now I’m just about done. Thanks for sharing your amazing talent with the world.

My first attempt at quilting on my home sewing machine was using meandering and I still use it when I'm in a hurry or want a stress-free quilting experience. I think it looks good on old-fashioned type quilts, too.

Thanks to you, Angela, I dove into FMQ this year! I have finished 2 baby quilts for gifts, almost finished a third a bit bigger (a redo because of a lack of quilting). Working on a full size t-shirt quilt that will also be FMQ finished. Your videos gave me the courage to get out of the ditch! Thank you! 😀 P.S. love your videos, my daughter and I can’t wait until new videos come out every week.

Hey Angela! I have to say my "quilting" has been stitching in the ditch... I actually quilted straight lines on the white background of a beautiful Ribbon quilt. It turned out great. Currently I have 4 quilt tops folded nicely and laying oh so lovely on the edge of my sewing table. I have watched a lot of tutorials, I went out and bought 3 stencils today. I will finish these 4 quilts All the way to the last stitch. They may be a little less than perfect, but I truly want to finish them. Thanks for all the encouragement!!! All the great ideas!😄 I appreciate your sense of humor and adventure. Have a wonderful weekend😉Laura

hi angela! thanks again for your inspiration and motivation! i finally finished quilting your "on point" quilt. i totally messed up the border and thought I needed just to cut it off. But I waited until the next day and looked at the border again and thought, "i dont even notice the mess i made yeaterday" so i left it on and it looks fine... just like you said. In the grand scheme of quilting you dont need to sweat the small stuff.

I got to see the feet of a foster child first belonging was my sage green and bright orange baby quilt shown by a neighbor who loved his first belonging was a quilt. Totally by accident I asked to see the photo and since I made 33 a chance yup I made that one. Who else does orange binding with striped flannels.

I took your advice. At the start my inner critic was tasting “you’re ruining it” . 2/3 of the way through it changed to “it will be okay”. At the last stitch it was “eh, but it’s done”. On to the next neglected top. Thanks

First let me say that I totally enjoy the Midnight Quilt Show, so far I have made three quilts from different episodes and am getting ready to try my hand at a fourth. And I have a Craftsy Unlimited subscription. However - you knew there was a "but," I bet - this episode was pretty disappointing, since it was just about machine quilting on a domestic and a review of things we've seen (and loved!) before. I have a longarm machine so am really hoping that at some point you might show some quilting on a long arm in one of your episodes. That would be great! BTW, I'm a person who often ends up with a stack of quilts just waiting for binding - my least favorite!
