Randy "Macho Man" Savage was always "entertaining" but this interview is rather bizarre. Then it's followed up by Ox Baker. Welcome to professional wrestling. Watch Classic Wrestling OnDemand at vimeo.com/onde...

@@shaolin1derpalm He did it early on. A lot on 1985 and it gradually fell off. By 1987 it was full on WWF Macho Man. Still great but Savage was more raw in ICW and Memphis. Almost reminds me of Austin in 1996 & 1997 verses 1998 onward.

@@ericjackson7632 agree. Actually when he said "Elizabeth! Do the thing!" I was happy. I grew up on wwf macho. I hated him lol. Not in the good way. I refused to watch his matches. But I eventually came around. But "Confetti! Don't tell me nothin' man!" Is just so epic. His best wwf promos to me were his Hot Dogg'n and Grandstand'n, and his late era interview "It's okay, not really".

WWE will never let anyone become another Macho Man or Hulk Hogan. They script em to death. I saw a few years back that there's some serious charismatic talent being dragged to hell by the way they do things. Even Mojo Rawley when you took him off the script showed some actual character and personality. Vince McMahon is the problem with wrestling and always has been since he kill the territories. Him and Kevin Dunn hate wrestling yet it's the only damn thing that made them money.

He hadn’t started dying his hair/beard black. No “oh yeah”…and no gravel voice yet. Just 3-4 years after this he would be packing arenas and stadiums. Miss you Randy! @muffinman1967 3 года назад
Uh no it wasn't. I lived in Lexington and witnessed this garbage. Memphis wrestling had better wrestlers, announcers, and were trailblazers for the industry. ICW had a few decent wrestlers but that's it. There's a reason this company went broke.
@thegoughandbordenfamily8234
@@muffinman1967 No, not quite. The Mizer had spent enough of his own earnings by 1983. He was holding his soon to be legendary son back. So the reason they went 'broke' aka closed down is because the other territories wouldn't cooperate with an outlaw promotion (they were blacklisted) and there was no big money future in territorial promotions with Vince going national. But let's entertain the idea that Icw went under because the penny pinching Mizer really was broke. Then that wouldn't be because their shows weren't entertaining. It would be because they couldn't gain much traction because the established territories wouldn't participate with them. Which is true. And looking back that was a big mistake. Randy would never forget this when he was called up to Wwf. Rather than continue to draw the greatest territory gates ever for Jarrett in Memphis, Randy went where his talent would be showcased properly. Randy didn't go to Wwf for the fame or money though. But instead to help put those same aforementioned and uncooperative territories out of business. So he could then finally get to face, and beat up, territory giants Dusty, Lawler and Flair like jabronis in the big leagues after years of ducking him. What goes around comes around oooh yeaaah! This little known fact, and the fact Meltzer still wets his bed over it, makes Macho the G.O.A.T

@@thegoughandbordenfamily8234 The USWA didn't have its demise until 1997. Randy had nothing with putting them out of business. And no Randy didn't have the biggest draws in that territory. If I remember right when Lawler came back in 1979 from his broken leg the Mid-South Coliseum was sold out standing room only. The crowds were still packing the place in the early 80s but went downhill substantially by the time Savage was there in what, 84 or 85. Randy was a great talent but if I remember right all ICW had was Lanny, Pez Whatley, Rip Rogers, Bob Orton Jr. The wrestling just couldn't compare to Memphis style.
