Hey man I have a question for you. I watched your “REVERSE Diet” how to video and that’s what I’m feeling I should be doing. Slowly adding to where I am each week.. I’m trying to do the correct macro split for that… BUT I watched this vid to learn how to calculate and the numbers are less than what I’d like. I’d rather not eat less because I feel like I stalled out and I’m feeling like I should reverse. Is there any way to apply these same concepts to the numbers I feel I SHOULD be eating?
Dude I’ve literally spent an endless amount of time trying to really grasp these concepts before watching this video. THANK YOU for helping me and others like me understand this. Hands down the most helpful video I’ve come across when it comes to this subject
IC represent! I now have a clue of how to actually calculate macros. Not sure it's for me, but it's nice to actually understand the basics of how all of it works. Also, yay, I won something! :)
I am a whole year late but DANG! i am so so happy I found tis video! This is the first time and I mean first time ever I understood how to calculate macros, and I have seen a lot of videos on them!
I've been struggling with fat loss for a while now.. I lost weight last year (222lbs - 170lbs) but gained about 20-25 lbs back (thx college) and haven't been able to get it off and keep it off. Gonna start counting calories for the next three months using your method and praying it works!
@@TheClimbingDietitian My goal is to increase my muscle mass and to get down to 15% body fat. In September 2017, I started my fat loss Journey. Last August 2019, I was down to 22.5% body fat. But I messed up my diet. Last month, in September 2020, I was at 33.7% body fat. But in the middle of last month I lost four and a half pounds. So I'm being more strict on my diet and nutrition. Aiming to get back to 22.5% body fat. Then going to my true goal of 175 lbs, 15% body fat. I hear that lowering your body fat can increase your testosterone levels. And give you more energy and focus.
@@chefboyardrew7134 ok sweet you've got some clear goals then. Perhaps but it's multifactorial but being a healthy weight is always healthy and beneficial in various ways. What gets you stuck most??
@@TheClimbingDietitian My body fat percentage was lowering over time. And it was great. Then I got a girlfriend. And it continued to lower. But then she started bringing cakes, cookies and unhealthy food into my place. She was also cooking with a lot of soy sauce. Then I started to get bigger. She liked to eat unhealthy. I like to eat healthy. It was a clash. We're not together right now but even a few months after we broke up, I still continued to gain weight. Until the middle of September. We broke up for other reasons than our difference in diet. But moving forward, I think whichever woman I date has to be at least partially concerned with eating healthy. I'm an endomorph body type so I can gain weight quick.
You made calories make sense. I use a free app that tracks calories and macros and this helps with understanding where the numbers come from. You’re the man!
I’m an so grateful the universe led me to your channel. I had no idea whatsoever how to start or where to start. Others make it seem so complicated. You make it seem so simple. I’ve watched quite a few of your videos. You remind me so much of my college professor. That made info on his subject simple and understanding as possible. He/you didn’t tell us to go around the corner, up two blocks, make a right go down three blocks just to go across the street. Lol.. I really appreciate your videos..
this is an amazing video, thank you so much! I've noted down the calorie and protein calculation from your shortened video, and clicked over to this video just to make sure i understood everything. Happy to say im going to start my calorie deficit soon :D Thanks again!
I am starting over on my fitness journey/food relationship journey (it's been more of a situationship, lol😳🙄🤣). I just plugged all these #s into my cronometer app and we'll see where it takes me! I'm not making any changes this week - just recording. Your Intermittent fasting video really hit home with the binging at the end of the day...😱🙈💗 Thank you for being so real and transparent and uplifting! You're going to help me better my life for the rest of my life!
INNER CIRCLE REPRESENT The sorcerer’s stone is the most important part, one who possesses the sorcerers stone shall live forever Also, from my journey I used to track macros for years. Then once I started working with..You..da guy, I only tracked my calories just to keep it wicked simple. When you understand carbs and fats come down to preference, it makes it super simple to just keep track of protein and calorie intake
You sir, are amazing. I have been living this lifestyle for over a year, and I wish I could have had you in my beginning. Even being so far into my journey, this was so helpful. Thank you from the bottom of my heart, from me and all the other homies out there trying to better themselves 💗
INNER CIRCLE REPRESENT!! J!!! Whoa! This was so great! Really really awesome information and incredibly helpful to understand tracking macros opposed to just calories. Thank you!! I appreciate you so much ♥️
This video is a bloody revelation! My god! Thanks so much! I’m so sick of thinking I’m failing because I go ‘over’ my carbs and fat! So I give up and f it all off...And all I need to do is check my calories!!!! -amazing!!!
I don't know why it took me SO LONG to finally watch this! I'm so glad I did. I've tracked before but this was so good to understanding the why/how and how I can manipulate it for what's best! Thank you!
Prefect! Your videos are so informative. I have a better understanding of so many things just by binge watching your videos. My goal weight is around 140 so I should be eating 1,680 calories. I've been eating around 1,400/day and I always feel really great and full, but recently I have been lifting a lot heavier and doing more cardio. I may consider increasing a bit. I feel more comfortable with the increase after watching these videos.
Jade Soileau honestly, pretty well! I felt super full at those calories though! So on a normal day I eat 1,200-1,400 and the on the weekends I increased! Either Friday/Saturday or Saturday/Sunday I allow myself to go closer to 1,600! I eat for volume usually though so it’s hard for me to hit that much. I still have been dropping weight without a plateau at this point. I was scared to increase my calories too, but I noticed if I don’t I end up with a day in the middle of the week where I am insanely hungry at night!
INNER CIRCLE REPRESENT! This is a gem of a video! The first time I think I understand how to actually calculate macros. Love how simple you make it seem. Thank you J and Rico! ❤️
I wish I could tell everyone in the world how wonderful you are!! Very informative, as per usual!! Looking forward to the micro nutrient video. #YMF ❤️
Thank you! I joined an eating/workout plan not that long ago and paid for a meal plan for a 90 days to help kickstart my weight loss and to help me 1. a better understanding on where to start my weight loss journey without getting overwhelmed. 2. to learn to calculate & create my own balance meal plan after I felt comfortable & felt like i could I could do it on my own. My coach never once gave me half the information you have in the two video’s I have watched of yours.
I am really taking your advice on a lot of things. I ate something "off plan" yesterday sugar free etc but it fit into my macros and calories and today not feeling guilty about it. Thanx for this. #sortinghatsquad
Really good i have been doing this last few months after watching Ted Niman, but last few weeks been bit slack just doing calories, you explained it very well no problems understanding it. I found i burn about 1000 calories a day fro activities fluctuate s bit but does trend down slowly. I was 115kg now 78 kg.
Jordan! Man oh man I am SO thankful I found you! How amazing your videos are! I have about 45kgs to lose and with your information I am so driven to start. Thank you for being simplistic, honest, transparent and caring. It shows and you’ve reinstated my fire to get this weight off! ♥️
🙌🏻 Yes! Been waiting all week for this! I have a question that is driving me nuts!! Maybe you know, do I eat back some calories after I run? I’m training for a half marathon. I run 30 plus miles a week.... I wear a heart rate monitor and I’m burning some runs 800 calories. In the running world I hear a lot about this glycogen storage and how runners bodies halt in weight loss if you drop your calories too low and hold onto everything. Please tell me it’s bull! It’s everywhere pertaining to running.
Hey man this comment might be a bit late but I appreciate the help I watched both videos and now I have a greater understanding 😅 wow it wasn’t so complicated
This video was what I needed to watch! I was getting so overwhelmed by calories and macros. It’s like you gave me permission to just track calories and protein. Thank you thank you thank you!
I would love to try your inner circle. Everything you put out is so positive Ave in line with where I am in terms of ditching diet mentality. I need to get back on track and this feels like the right way to go. Keep fighting the good fight, it's wonderful to watch!
Thank you!!! 🙏🏻 You have no idea how helpful your videos are!!! I’m constantly hearing do this or do that but no real explanation or information on how to make it work! You are the first person to explain all this stuff in an understandable way! 🙌🏻 I’m going to subscribe now!🤣
I love the simplicity of how you approach counting calories and macros. I used your GBW x 12 approach from your last video and I have finally been able to shed some body fat. Also watching you weigh in daily and how going over your calories at times isn’t the end all be all. I used to think I could only be in a deficit for a brief period of time, because of “metabolic damage”. This time I am being patient and listening to my own bodies cues as to when it might be time to add in more calories.
I got my diet plan from Agoge Diet and lost 2kg in just 10 days. So far, so good. Can't wait to see numbers on scale after 20 more days. I am so excited about this.
Ok the two videos together are mind blowing 🤯 The combination explained makes SOooo much sense!! I don’t know why people say one is superior to another...
I adore the hippogriff concept! Thanks for an entertaining as well as just informative presentation of these helpful-simple equations for nutrition. Refreshingly awesome!
Thank you for this! About to do the fat loss phase as you suggested, in 90 days I'll do a diet break as you called them. So excited to get my health on track ☺️ bless you ❤️
This is the info i have been searching for and it’s so simplified!! I’m one of those people that gets obsessed with minutia and then I go haywire when I go off track. Thank you so much 🙏🏻
Love you video and how you sent message to people. I thinks counting just calories is better because you don't get too obsessed and is more suitable on a long period.
Incredibly helpful! I didn’t really understand the break down even though I knew it was important and I didn’t even bother with carb cycling but it has literally all just clicked after watching this! Thank you!!
Video recommendation for you please would be a guide to looking at common, simple foods and having ball park figures to work with. Example how many calories and protein in an average chicken breast, Big Mac (😉 I’m sure you know that one by now!) or anything else people commonly eat.
Fantastic follow up video to your calories video. It’s about time someone simplified things and cut through the bullshit of the much toted “magic item” to add / avoid. Everything is a tool or a spin you can put on things but you’ve nailed the basics that must be in place perfectly - thank you 🙏
