I too came here because of some of the negativity about her performance. I think she did an awesome job of projecting real soul and feeling into this performance. Her voice is unique, and it added both a sweet and yet haunting feeling to the performance. It was artistically stellar in my view. Bravo Macy Gray!
I listened to this twice and I don't know how or why people don't feel or see the beauty in this redition. She sang this as if it were her own. Chilling, authentic, and persuasive.
When you hear Macy Gray's voice it definitely captures your attention in a good way......She has the type of voice you dont hear everyday and she's in a league of her own......A musical artist for sure 👍🏽❤💯🎤🎵🎸😍
@@atlantabraves1529we hear you with your 7 subscribers lol try not to be so critical. I should of listened to insight of Bitcoin I was closed minded. Hella phunny
@@FilFootball3 I think he was laughing because she was shaking around and moving pretty funny, especially with that hair, she looked kinda cracked out. But the singing was A-1 Macy
This has to be the most lyric, warmest & most moving version of the Star-Spangled Banner ever. I never thought this could be done, I absolutely love it. Unbelievable!
Okay. I'm seeing it for the first time. And Macy Gray was Macy Gray ALL DAY! Go on Macy! The idiots laughing at her don't know who she is cuz they're too young. This is her style! I've missed her.
BRO IDK HOW ALL OF YOU IN THE COMMENTS BEING SO NICE ABT IT! DIS SHIT WAS HORRIBE AND DISRESPECTFUL! EVEN LEBRON WAS TRYING NOT TO LAUGH! REMINDS ME OF FERGIES NATIONAL ANTHEM😂. She sounds like a chain smoker. She reminds me of those homeless crackhead bitches you see at the liquor store.
I thought this was beautifully done. People are being so hard on her. I prefer this over all this new singers screaming trying to imitate Whitney Houston’s version. This was really awesome, and 100% authentic Macy.
The fact of the matter is macy was in key and on pitch the entire performance. Anyone with a musical ear can hear that. Her tone is unique and ppl either love it or hate it but i know for a fact that no musically intelligent person would say its bad. Only tone def trolls.
Macy has her own style. Someone hired her for this Knowing that she would have her own interpretation. Idk why ppl hate on her for being unique. I think she did great💜
I totally agree!!. Watching her on The Real and just heard about her performance and about some laughter. This was disrespectful. She is unique and she sound like herself.....I mean what were people expecting. She sang it from her heart and she was great!!!
Not everyone is going to get Macy's singing style, but those of us that do get it really appreciate it. Not every singer has to have amazing range and clarity in their vocals to evoke an emotional response from their audience. Macy's voice is filled with soul and pain... just an incredibly unique voice that you know to be hers and hers only.
I swear! I just saw a video she posted saying something about Lebron laughing, so I’m going into this assuming she was awful or had a broken note, but I was ENTHRALLED as well!!!
@@ericjones149 finally! Someone who understands where I was coming from. They made it seem like she totally bombed this performance, but I couldn’t disagree more. She did her thing!
I think she did excellent. I love her voice. I would love to hear her sing another song because she has one beautiful voice. I loved it. You go girl. Keep it up.
Man I just love her she's so unique she's so different she's so unapologetic man she's everything that I inspire too be just living her life as herself and not taking the burden of what society thinks she should be or how she should act I just love it and I love her still in 2022🖤
I love it!!!! I have always loved her singing she’s always had a very unique sound too me that’s what makes her different from the rest her voice is amazing!!!!!
Best rendition I’ve heard at an event like this! Sick of every one sounding like they’re trying to turn it into an American Idol audition, this was nice
This made me so emotional. I remember sitting in that hot and dusty tent in war and hearing all the gun fire and explosions at night and wishing and dreaming to be home. This felt like home!!!! Thank you!!!
WOW glad you home God Bless you and your services This says a lot of bravery in you and Macy to step up to the plate and done this God Bless everyone 😇🙏
For anyone who is saying mean things about her they must be too young to remember her...or wasnt born in her era of music. Look, this is typically her. This is how she always sounded and looked. She has a very unique voice and style that is beautiful. Again, if you didn't listen to her in the late 90s, early 2000s (or wasn't born), you just don't get it. Doesn't give you the right to make fun of her because you don't get it!!!!!! With that being said, the performance was beautifully done ❤. And it's awesome to hear her sing again and see her!!!! I was (and still am) a Macy Gray fan!!!!
I came because I saw her post about what happened and wanted to see for myself...WOW! I thought it was beautiful and she kept it simple and true to who she is as a unique artist...well done Macy Gray...well done🙏🏽
People can be real jerks. Based on some of the comments I thought she did a horrible job or something. But after listening I thought she did excellent. It was very sweet and very Maci. I loved it. Great job!
To the Queen from Canton, Ohio, you're still # 1 and you still have what it take to perform at the All-Stars 75th year game. Congratulation Ms. Macy Gray, job well done.
Wow. Absolutely stunning. This was truly Macy Gray in her authentic self. The National Anthem was sung with such reverence, which we rarely get anymore. Too many artists showing off. This was beautiful. Thank you.
So much soul in the way you performed the National Anthem. What I loved best is YOU did YOU! Amazing to see an entertainer just being who they truly are. Thank you for that Macy. :)
I like her style and I love this version in her style. Go Macy! It was nice of her to go to a boring old basketball game and gift them with her talents.
That's the thing about opinions we can always agree to disagree.... no she wasn't the best I've heard, I'll personally give that to Jazmine Sullivan. But she sung it with her vocal ability and it wasn't bad.
@@nhotwings Powerful doesn’t mean loud. Powerful can be simply a person being who they truly are. Not having to prove themselves. Comfortable in their own skin... must I continue?
You have to understand and know music to comprehend Macy Gray’s style of music. She is a great, no but a phenomenal artist that sings from the heart and life experiences. You must listen to her lyrics to get the true meaning and that’s why she has withstood the test of time among artist. I hope maybe one day I can get a chance to see her perform…..
Um, she sounded like Macy Gray singing the National Anthem. IDK what everyone's issue is. (Do people not know who she is or what her voice sounds like?) I personally love her voice.
