Between stallings and Saban, there was Mike dubose (sucked), franchone (sucked), price (never coached, bought a hooker with a university credit card), and Shula (mediocre at best). Saban inherited the 8th or 9th best team in the sec, and that was before it expanded. His hard work and recruiting built bama into the monster it is today. I'm a life long bama fan, and we absolutely sucked for 15 years before Saban, with Shaun Alexander being the bright spot.

I'm a die hard Alabama fan, and I love college football. I've looked at every tradition out there, even Ara Parseghian's run at Notre Dame. I will agree that is a nice run, and he did defeat and own Bear Bryant's Crimson Tide teams of the 1970's, what many media considers as Bryant's decade. But you are not going to convince a man who spends the majority of his time looking at historical data for Notre Dame, Alabama, and all of the great programs, head coaches, players, and crazy things the college football fan will do when it comes to their team. And it gets none as crazy as the SEC, especially Alabama! And in Alabama, the SEC, and all over this college football landscape, even my best friend who lives in northwest Indiana and is a die hard Notre Dame fan, the same love as I do for Alabama. And he would call Mad Dog crazier than a conspiracy cocktail!!! Nick Saban is THE greatest, THE GOAT! The Best in the present, and he will be in the future. And I will keep saying this until they listen- "Calm down haterfans! Just might as well sit back and enjoy what ya got. Because this is what you're gonna see Saban for possibly another 7-10 years, and this Alabama run for another 15 yrs. Cause Saban isn't going to leave Alabama in a poor position. And I think people don't understand that makes it even more proof that Saban is the greatest. 2012- 13-1 (7-1) SEC, and destroyed Notre Dame (12-0) in the Orange Bowl for the BCS title. 2013- 11-2 (7-1) 2014- 13-2 (7-1)(SEC, and was #1 in initial CFP rankings. 2015- 14-1 (7-1) SEC, 2nd Heisman trophy winner, and one of Saban's most "Got em'!" National Championship wins ever over Clemson, specially with that onside kick call. Brilliant!! Alot of great special teams play by Bama in that one. You look at Saban's real only bad loss. And that was in Santa Clara, California. When Clemson put a whipping on Bama. Enough is enough Mad Dog! SABAN'S THE GREATEST!!! Deal with it, and put some RESPECT ON THAT THANG!!! 2016 14-1 (8-0) SEC champs, National runner up 2017- 14-1 (7-1) National champs 2018- 14-1 (8-0) SEC champs, National runner up 2019- 12-2 (6-2) 2020- 13-0 (10-0) SEC and National Champs. That's 10 SEC wins, 11 counting the SEC title game vs Florida, plus a Notre Dameteam and, ,and the B1G juggernaut Ohio St, that only played 7 games. That should be enough alone for proof. 2021- 13-2 (7-1) won SEC against the team that they lost to for the national title (Georgia) and 2 more Heisman trophy winners, I mean, Dude you're just crazy to think Ara Parseghian's run is better than this. This is all time of any sports league. He is 7-1 in SEC championship games, and has made 9 trips to a national championship game, and is 6-3 in those games. This isn't counting @LSU either! All ALABAMA! He has 14 straight 10+ win seasons, and Alabama had the most 10+ win season already in the history of the FBS with 26 seasons in 101 years (1920-2021) Saban has over half that in 14 years!! 14 YEARS!!! Steven A. should know that Saban WANTED Brees...but didn't have control of the decision making...front office chose Duante Culpepper. This was the reason he left the Dolphins. Wanted all the control. Which he got and has. If he had gotten Brees, he would still be the coach of the Dolphins. And the screaming Mad Dog doesn't understand that recruiting is the main gig of coaching.
