2 pack mate, I need to do more research on spraying conditions as that can change the end result. But I'm getting there, and keen to complete this project then get out and enjoy it. Cheers

Rust from the factory??? They didn't leave the factory with rust.

Yes they did I worked for ford's in the press shop for 33 years (stamping) the early models where known for rust before they started using better coatings on their steel

@@trevorjohnston9504 But any coating of paint will stop rust while it's being made, They wouldn't be pressing bodies then just leaving them bare steel, They go down the paint line after the body has been finished being welded up.

The parts would be stamped and sent to sub assembly in Geelong they could sit in that area for days before being sent to broad meadows before they up graded to a better grade of steel they would start to rust (during x-mas shut down we would spray them with a special oil to stop them rusting depending on the part they could some times sit for weeks and then they would be sent to metal finish to try and remove the rust they only got better when they started to galvanise the whole body at Broadmeadows
