I believe Spectrum's Photon Form activation ignores crisis icons because it's not a thwart. Glad to see you enjoying this box as well! I'm through Hela on my first playthrough and boy was she brutal on Expert solo
@Graceclaw I still need some more standard plays before I go expert. Congrats on doing so well! The crisis icon prevents threat from being removed from the main scheme for any reason, whether thwarting or another ability ... unless there's another FAQ out there. :)
@@DaletheCasualGamer you are correct, I just checked. I seem to remember something about being able to use the Milano to remove threat even through Crisis, but I might have been thinking of confusion or something else.
Tense game. Adam really likes to mill his deck and Monica has that funky power deck cha-cha. Add to that all the overhead of two villains two schemes and a Tower card (just to keep things interesting). I am so going to screw up the rules on this one. I seriously can’t wait. I bet I never get it right.
@@DaletheCasualGamer it’s those 2AM games. When two-handed everything fires off all at once. DMG and threats galore until at the end of it all I sit staring and hopelessly wonder where we’re we when all this started happening. “Beats me,” says the cat, “I pitched ya first player token into the litter box right around the second surge”. It’s the undocumented Everything Gone to Hell phase when the mere concept of cardboard playing cards becomes alien. A time when packing it in for the evening is a winning strategy. A time to not worry that the cat has an Irish accent.
Hi Dale, just found about your channel due to my new love for Marvel Champions. So I am watching a lot of your old content! =) I was curious, what sleeves are you using now for Marvel Champions? I bought one pack of Dragon Shield Matte, but thinking I like the look of clear better. (Shuffling isn't quite as smooth though...) I've been trying to watch some of your sleeve videos but they are either old or products aren't made anymore, etc. Thanks for all the content!
@Nathan Baker Welcome to Marvel Champions!! I am using Dragon Shield clear matte sleeves for most of my games now. I do use another sleeve for the identity and villain cards, so they are easy to "feel" if they accidentally get shuffled in the main decks. Hope that helps, and happy gaming! :)
At 38:15 you made a mistake: you have to decide how many cards you’re going to discard before starting to discard. At least that’s how the majority of players seems to „rule“ it… otherwise great playthrough again!
Thanks for watching! I wish FFG would have clarified that, because I couldn’t find anything in the rules or FAQs to clarify, so I went with discarding one at a time until I wanted to stop. Could be wrong, but that’s how I play it for this series.
@@SaschaKleiber When "situations" arise during play, I'll pause and check rules briefly, but couldn't find anything (and still can't) so the game goes on. If the consensus is you choose a number first, I'm good with that too. (but I've already played through the complete scenario). :)

From the current version of the RRG, under the entry 'Cost Arrow Icon' on pg. 10: A cost arrow icon (-->) in ability text distinguishes a cost from an effect, in a "pay cost --> resolve effect" format. Non-bolded text before the cost arrow icon must be paid and/or resolved in full before the text after the cost arrow icon can be resolved. In the case of Adam Warlock's cards Karmic Blast and Cosmic Awareness, the 'discard up to 4 cards' is part of the cost of the effect, so you'd have to decide in advance how many cards you're discarding, thus fully paying the cost before resolving the effect after the cost arrow (in this situation dealing extra damage or removing extra threat).“

14:00 When a card refers to the "villain" it should refer to the "active villain" so that tough card shouldn't have been given to Gamma Corvi, or am I missing something?

The community says Wrecking Crew is finnicky...WC has nothing on the Tower Defense Scenario! This definitely stretched my game management. I also play two-handed solo.
That Down Time on Adam Warlock is kinda useless; what do you think?. You have the Soul World, don't need to use Recover at all :) Edit: Unless you don't use it as a resource :D
What is the best playmats to use? I want the blue one for this game but can't be found anywhere online and their site says out of stock. Thinking they discontinued the mat.
@Matthew Parrill I couldn't find any of the blue one for sale either. Not sure if it's waiting for a reprint or not. I like bigger mats for the game rather than 1 player mats, but to each their own. The green one works fine .. I even like the new Descent playmat for the dragon, but most "popular" companies making mats will do fine. Happy gaming! :)
@Raymond Green Thanks for watching! Each ally has an "explosion" type symbol next to their scheme/attack. For each symbol, that shows how much damage they take for that action. Yondu, and Black Cat do not have a symbol next to their attack symbol, so no consequential damage. Hope that helps!

@B N I like Warlock just for the change in deck construction, but for me, I think he is the weakest of the Mystics. Spectrum has options, and I like those options. :)
@@DaletheCasualGamer I think the real killer for AW is the 'one of each card' limit. It just kills any planning you can do for your deck - any combos you might plan are wildly unlikely.
