My PE teacher in the early 90's was exactly the same. The bald hairstyle, moustache, the 70's shorts and shirt which he never changed, and always threatening us, haha
Shawn Wavy I sure as hell had several of them from middle school to high school & I attended private H.S. couldn't get away from this type of coach no matter what
15 years later and I still find coach Hines one of the funniest recurring sketches I've ever seen on MadTV! Miss that show Soooooooo much, MadTV was always the "funnier" of the two weekend "sketch" programs. SNL didn't even compare to the wild humour MadTV provided consistently! Wish it was still going :-(
It's very hard being a professional sometimes; Stephanie Wier in the QVC Fat Fashion episode had a moment she had to grab her face & I lost it saw hard. Going to watch it after this again. lol
"You know what Sister Maurice, why don't you go sit back down and chew some gum or I will turn you upside down and take a potato peeler to your ankle." The first time I heard that my ribs hurt for hours. Man I miss good comedy like this 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
For several years MADtv was kicking SNL's ass, but because Fox didn't own MADtv they didn't care about it's future and barely advertised it. Eventually, the main cast left so the final episodes were terrible. The company that owns MADtv won't even bother to release most seasons so instead they just threw some of the best episodes in a vault somewhere to rot. MADtv's actors were notoriously underpaid considering how talented they were. Also, because they were willing to be politically incorrect the actors were treated like outcasts in showbiz and effectively blacklisted. Despite creating great characters it was difficult for many to find work which is why comedic geniuses like Will Sasso and Bobby Lee never landed big deals in mainstream shows/sitcoms and only just recently have found limited success because of podcasts. Others did voice work like Phil Lamarr and Alex Borstein, but Keegan Michael Key was the only person to really make it big. SNL will sometimes have a standout comedian, but it gets too involved in politics. Its political skits simply aren't funny and often come off as material that was forced in by left wing ideologues. However, since it has so many connections in showbiz it will never fail no matter how many people agree that it's terrible.
You know? They should really air this show again. I don't care if it isn't live, I don't care if it's old footage. I'd watch this over SNL any day. Just straight up replace SNL with old Mad TV Skits and my weeknights would be a blast.
Do you not have Netflix? Are you unaware the internet exists, this idea that comedians can’t tell jokes anymore is just ridiculous, the only ppl bringing comedy into the culture wars these days are pathetic losers pretending that invisible censors exist, grow the fck up
Can someone please upload the Coach Hines prom sketch? I always loved that sketch. Keegan Michael Key is brilliant! Coach Hines was one of the best characters on this show.
1. Coach Hines is my spirit animal 2. Of course, a nun was the one who finally knocked him out, anybody who went to catholic school can attest to how badass most nuns are after you've pissed them off.
Can we get a Coach Hines movie? Maybe a Coach Hines goes to college. He gets his dream job at some huge college only to find out Kobayashi is going to the same college. Then let the magic happen!
