I tried to meet Nick Csge once but his security tripped me to the floor and Mr Cage slapped my bottom twice. He told me not to get up and he stared at me as he walked away until he walked around a corner. Then he peeked around the corner to check if I moved. I treasure that memory.

That's what baffles me. We don't get a Knull film. We get Morbius AND Madame Webb first. That's so silly. The symbiotes are the most successful spin offs of the Spideys other than Silk or Miles and they took this long to get around to them. That's insane. Don't they like money????

The Plot to Madame Web is an actual adaptation to a comic arc called "there can only be one"/ The Charlotte Witter Story. It's the 1 story where Madame Web has been cured of her illness & regains her youth while her granddaughter is out trying to kill other Spider-Women. The only difference here is Web is young cause origin, granddaughter is replaced with Ezekiel, & while Mattie Franklin & Julia Carpenter are in the movie, Jessica is replaced with Anya Corazon. All of them is Spider-Woman except Anya who was Arana or Spider-Girl. Also Fun Fact Julia was called at one point Arachne.

@@bigburt04 No I'm not. I'm saying it's a loose adaptation, the story wasn't about Jessica Drew & she isn't important to the original story, so Anya replacing her is fine. The only real difference is the circumstances of Webs youth & Ezekiel replaces the antagonist, however IN THE TRAILER he performs the same role Charlotte Witter did, which was trying to absorb the girls life force & powers. The whole main plot is Witter trying to absorb & kill Spider-Women & Web trying to get them together & save them. It's also deliberately taking story beats from it because it's 1 of the few times Web regains her youth in the comics AND is the first Mattie Franklin arc, THE most forgotten Spider-Woman, who is in this film.

The best way to salvage Anyone But You is if it ends with them getting married and the priest asks if there's any objections and you hear a voice saying "Yes, I object. It's me: Doctor Michael Morbius", and the movie is revealed to be a surprise prequel to Madame Webb, and is part of the Sony Spider-Man universe

So it seems in Madame web they are trying to make a loose adapt of the general Web of Destiny in the comics, a bunch of Spider - women and also Ezekiel who originally was tied to a Totem related story and about the mystical powers of Spider - man. But he also seems to have the powers of Morlun who in the comics hunts any character with radioactive blood and absorbs life force by touch. It's a bit funny they are attempting to so much around Spider - man mythos and character, instead of focusing on Just Jessica's origins...

It took me watching this to realise he meant to record his friend. I thought he recorded him on the electronic thingy, decided to not use the recording after he played it back and thought about what his friend said but he played it in earshot of the bird and the bird unfortunately picked it up and repeated it. Like I thought it was a genuine mistake and I was really confused why he didn’t tell Lucy Grey.

My two cents is that there will be more authority members with the engineer who say that superman blows and being nice is lame and doing kills is rad, and the dc superhero’s who are going to be in it will be almost like looking up to superman ( kind of like how they do to Batman in the brave and the bold cartoon ) and the film will be superman trying to show them that his way works so they end up on the right path, I can totally see guy gardener joining the authority briefly because he’s dumb and he thinks they’re more effective

At this rate, is any film maker going to want to work with WB anymore? On an unrelated note, Zaslav's received 250 Million in salary, bonus and stock in 2022, so WB could have paid for a blockbuster (and 1000s of people working on it) and perhaps made a profit on it, but decided to give it all to one guy.

It's a pretty decent adaptation of the book, but even with the massive length they have to cut out alot of important things. I think the story just is way better as a book

The original "trilogy" of films had all the main story beats but so much was left out or tweaked. The little conversations or interactions between Katniss and Snow laid a lot of groundwork for the prequel that I don't think got translated clear enough. Snow is supposed to feel so slimey and gross that the end of book 3 should make you hate Katniss just the tiniest bit, but I empathized a little too well. At least for me, they played up the sickly old man part too much without giving more of the heinous logic, then they release this and he's hot and giving Slytherin chic. It's just silly, when it shouldn't feel so pop culture, but more like watching a young Hitler.

the hunger games situash is interesting, like with squid games, its part of our past. We were entertained by this. There were no dating apps or hunger games on tv. It reminds me of the premise of cabin in the woods, we are the blood hungry ‘gods’ and maybe theres still a part in some of us that still need that. Not me tho, sick!❤

Marvel lawyers would have never let them sign a contract saying only X actor can play X character. That sounds absolutely ridiculous and stupid. A studio would never sign a contract saying they can't recast somebody. No matter how good the actor is, it makes no sense.

Would be willing to bet that if the contract is real it has to do with the fact that going in there are multiple versions of the character who will interact within the same story. Makes it too easy to recast them when the price tag gets gradually more expensive. Disney would 100% decide to stunt recast the last appearance of kang after majors had built the character.

Is it just me, do we really need an origin story to Madame web. It still could be a Madame Web movie but she has the other spider woman take the spotlight. Why can’t She be the Zordon to the other spider women’s Power Rangers 🤷‍♂️. Just be their leader. I don’t just don’t see the point of making her young.

Omg. A Spidey Ranger movie was the answer. Frame it like a mini Avengers moment but contextualize it with spiders, there's so many villains to pull from they could have alluded to Knull but focused on Carnage for example

@@HiddenHandMedia no, it's not, because the Rangers are unique. The Spideys aren't uniform, so their powers and personalities shine. My favourite part of any Ranger season is the episode where they figure out their individual powers or how they fight as a team. Moreover, it's not 5 kids with snarky, quirky personalities and the same power set: did anyone complain about No Way Home? I swear, the negativity these days is so stupid, not the concepts. Shazam isn't even a horrible movie, you just didn't like it. Let some things be basic so the more complex ideas can shine too, buddy. I want to see an all female team organically mix, that's so rare in superhero spaces, let alone the Spideys. I dream about a show called Spider Women where each episode focuses on one, and you slowly see how the web weaves together until there's a team up at the end. We severely need a Marvelized Bad Boys with the Punisher and Daredevil too. I wanna see more sub sets of teams, they haven't explore that at all when the Champions are right there, Strikeforce, and so on

Maybe it's just cause I'm so burnt out on the MCU's nonsense, also that I always tend to keep my expectations low, that I'm open to literally anything at this point, but I do like the premise of Madame Web of two people with future sight fighting against each other. I'd like to remind everyone that the DCEU was about 87% crap but then they make stuff like Wonder Woman or Shazam. So a movie being tied to a universe of mostly misses does not mean it's gonna be bad.

Why havent you talked about invincible yet?? Its the besr super hero anything right now. Same with the boys. Blowing the mcu away. Madame web looks pretty great. Not gunna lie. That storyline was actually good in the comics...and i love the idea of an evil spiderman in the past

I say let Sony cook. Their Spiderman movies have so far been bad to mediocre, but I think they're building up to an actual Spiderman. The movies they're putting out now are just the ground work to get their foot in the door, they're not trying to be good, they're trying to lay the way for a new fresh take on Spiderman. Sony has made it clear that all their Spiderman related movies are in the same spiderverse. When everything they've already put out is compared to early MCU movies, it's not that dissimilar. They have some bad (Morbius/Ironman2), some ok (Venom2/Captain America), some amazing (Spiderverse/Avengers). Down the line, I think we can expect to see a version of Spiderman and all his rogues and a whole cavalcade of spider related heroes. Too many people are comparing the Sonyverse to what the MCU has become and not what it was.

But I don't want a bubble universe where they superficially toss out projects to just say they did it. I want something like the Marvels that is an authentic exploration of the characters and really fun. I don't want to be patient and have them figure out what they're doing with the spidey women I just want Spider Woman NOW

@fichgo2656 But a Spider-Msn cinematic universe on its own is just duuuuuuuumb. It’s like having a Mickey Mouse movie series seperate from Disney. I’d much rather see Spider-Man just have cool adventures on the street with Daredevil than sitting through a dozen not actually evil spider man villains and knock off Spider people. Spider-Verse gets a pass because takes a different spin on the Spider characters, this is just aping the MCu but worse.

I think spin offs tend to be bad but they don’t have to be. Spin-offs and prequels can both be lazy ideas motivated by cashing in on a better movie but spin-offs tend to not have the ability to ruin or undermine the movie it’s a prequel to
