Ferrucio Furlanetto interpreta a Leporello.
Well, one possible interpretation of the Don Giovanni is that Leporello is nothing but another personality of the Don (which helps explaining how nobody notice when they switch places!) and that "the list" has inside the names of girls barely met by our main character, maybe just seen in passing, and in his delusion he is absolutely convinced he seduced them all.
Zanimljivo, ove godine me nije uhvatila niti najobicnija viroza.Sad se svi bojimo najobicnije prehlade
I am also delighted that this Leporello has his list folded in the manner that at least the graphic industry in Germany today still knows as a "Leporello"!!!
I mean "Donny Johnny likes girls, they are his toys, sexually" even the real Casanova and the Duke of Mantua and even James Bond would go like "Woah, dude you're a insensitive, inhumane fucking ass! But at the very least you're not class-discriminatory or racially prejudiced or of either height or weight"?
Parallax77 well basically, this woman is infatuated with Don Giovanni and has been following him all throughout Italy. In an effort to get rid of her, Don Giovanni has his servant try and show what a sexual deviant he is, so he reads from his little(or I guess enormous) black book of sexual conquests.
@@metroidfoosion73 She's not infatuated with him, she's distraught and is seeking revenge, she's lamenting and is heard by Don Giovanni and Leporello, Don Giovanni (not knowing it's Donna Elvira) tries to woo her but quickly realizes his mistake, both of them recognize eachother and she reproaches him bitterly.
In Italia seicento e quaranta; In Almagna duecento e trentuna; Cento in Francia, in Turchia novantuna; Ma in Ispagna son già mille e tre. (Parte.) -Leporello:(ENGLISH) My dear lady, this is a list Of the beauties my master has loved, A list which I have compiled. Observe, read along with me. In Italy, six hunddred and forty; In Germany, two hundred and thirty-one; A hundred in France; in Turkey, ninety-one; In Spain already one thousand and three. Among these are peasant girls, Maidservants, city girls, Countesses, baronesses, Marchionesses, princesses, Women of every rank, Every shape, every age. With blondes it is his habit To praise their kindness; In brunettes, their faithfulness; In the very blond, their sweetness. In winter he likes fat ones. In summer he likes thin ones. He calls the tall ones majestic. The little ones are always charming. He seduces the old ones For the pleasure of adding to the list. His greatest favourite Is the young beginner. It doesn't matter if she's rich, -Leporello: Ugly or beautiful; If she wears a petticoat, You know what he does. (He exits.)
Giusto fare i complimenti a Mozart.
Looks like a superb production. He's fun to watch in these clips from opera productions, more than in concert -- superb actor as well as such a lovely singer, excellent!

+Josh Dursi (morningale) Do you know what you're talking about? You retain of this opera the basest of meaning and forgo the music, the singing, the humour...I'm so sorry for you if in such an opera you just see a sex count...poor you!
Caprice Royal this is an English-speaking platform, I was just trying to translate for the non Italian-speakers. (Italian is my mother language, so sorry if I'm not able yet to link more than twenty words in a sentence, and while trying to I use inappropriate or inconsiderate words, I'm still a lot weak on technical, cultivated lexicon)
Caprice Royal moreover (not deprecating the opera though) we're talking about _Mozart_, the same guy who wrote "Leck Mich Im Arsch" (tr: "kiss my ass"), so, if he was open on swear words as Blink-182 are now, why can't I, talking about his masterpieces? As if the word "fuck" was a scandal in 2016, considering that today's music is about bouncing buttocks and naked women licking and riding building equipment.

Fredrik Häll They should adapt this to the exploits of Bill Clinton - hotel rooms at political fundraisers, pressurized cabins of high altitude private jets, and, of course, the Oval Office decorated to resemble the fluviatile featherings of an immense vagina- Don Bubbagiovani
I have on DVD the Salzburg performance of Don Giovanni in 1987. Furlanetto was its Leporello. What an amazing performer he was then and still is here, although I can scarcely imagine what it must have been like for Karajan, struggling to find a balance between himself and a cast whose members were all at least 30 years younger than he was. And yes, he did look and sound younger then; I did not think that this was him at first.
A favorite performance of my favorite opera! I taped it on video cassette when watching it on PBS and watched it many times over the years. It also starred Samuel Ramey (another favorite) as the Don and Kathleen Battle as Zerlina.
It is not possible for me to love this cast any more. And whoever thought to get a closeup of Bryn Terfel at the first "Ma in Ispagna..." brava, so hard.
This Italian Aria is composed by Mozart, an Austrian composer, during the Classical Era. It is from Don Giovanni (the Opera) and is about Don Giovanni sleeping with women.
I love this production, it is as if Diego Velázquez had painted it! The spanish golden century on stage. And Ferruccio Furlanetto is a genius, as a singer and as an actor!
Bravo.
Furlanetto's favorite arias/works are serious, so it's interesting to see him do this one so amazingly well. (He mentions his favorites in an interview---they include Ella giammai m'amo.)
Quelle belle version ! ;)
@@MARTIN201199 Ferruccio is a gentleman. He is a consummate professional. I have known him my entire career. He is one of my generation's most favorite colleagues. The old guard has retired from the Metropolitan Opera chorus. I am in the middle. We revere people like Placido Domingo and Ferruccio Furlanetto. The younger people, not so much.
We have taught children that they can have any and everything they want. Hence cancel culture. Babies should get what they want all the time. Grownups compromise.
A differenza Di Verdi e Puccini. Sentimento personale
I love how proud he is when he says that he made the catalogue himself. And then it is the determined "mille e tre" which he repeats when Donna Elvira seems in disbelief 😂😂
Never watch up to now such an EXCELLENT Leporello! He is even better than the one in Losey's film! Perfect singing, great actor performance and interpretation... Look at the 3 different moves he did in the end, singing while playing the violin just in front of the woman! This is a genius idea! :D
Bravo Furlanetto, for the singing and the acting, not to forget the scenic direction. Don Giovanni listening and reacting, Dona Anna listening and reacting and lovely little Susanna running in and reacting while Furlanetto is, in a way, the puppet-master, teasing, provoking and mastering the scene. In this one he is superior to the Don himself. I loved it!
Ingrid Sommer that sort of depends on who is directing the opera production. There are productions, like the one with Tercel as the Don, where the Don uses his power and his money to gain his conquests.
To the people who think the Sexual Revolution was the 1960 to 1970 boy were you wrong Mozart captured the Sexual Revolution of His time. As the French say the More things change, the more they stay the same. People view of sex as prodes or lose have ben with us sines the first man and woman revolted from the norm of their time.
