Madden NFL 07 (PS2) was a Masterpiece 

Hey guys, as I mention at the end of the video, this is the last Madden video for a while. I hope you guys enjoyed the recent Madden content explosion! Madden videos will come back however, just gonna mix things up this next month.

Madden06 was so deep, I actually had a physical notepad that I used for a scouting book. Yes I would actually sim seasons of NCAA Football, write down the Names of the Top players & award winners & add them to my draft board because you could import draft classes from NCAA. I literally drafted players onto madden that I had followed since their freshman year lol. I had so many draft steals because I had guys in late rounds that I saw have incredible seasons in college so I knew they were good players. I don't think EA will ever get that deep again.

I missed it when madden wasn't afraid to put a rock or metal song within its soundtracks, in fates hands anyone? Or does anyone remember when madden 10 had a rock heavy soundtrack that featured judas priest, pantera, korn, black sabbath, iron maiden, rage against the machine and mother fucking slipknot? It's so sad we have to go back in time 15 years to show these kids how great Madden used to be. The kids these days have NO idea what they missed out on

2007 was my bread and butter as a kid. Still is my go to. The sound track the gameplay everything.

The saddest thing about this is Gen Z will never get to see a time when greed wasn't set to 99, people in the old times did things for the love of, NOT just for cold hard cash and greed.The reason gaming is declining is because it's not about being creative, not about being excited about what your doing, it's just about quick cash and that's become society, money at any cost with no ethics, no morals.EA is more than a gaming company they're what's wrong with society entirely.

What blows me away is the fact that old maddens where so detailed for their time and there should have been no way madden could have gotten so bad

It still boggles my mind how player movement and presentation is better on the ps2 than the ps5 and xbox one.

Madden 07 is so nostalgic to me. When I was a dumb naive little 9 year old, all I would play was Madden and NHL 07. Those were the best memories I've ever had as a kid. Me creating my own players with a deep and immersive franchise mode was some of the best experiences I've ever had. I've been watching your videos since 2019, and all I gotta say is, I love your content and it's always a blessing when you upload. You're the guy that made me realize that emulating old Madden games and playing them in 4k was a possibility, and I will be eternally grateful for that. I can ramble on all day about how new Madden sucks, and how I've been watching your channel from your first Madden bad video to Liquid Fever and present day. But I just wanted to say thank you for delivering top notch content and for being one of my favorite RU-vid creators. Madden 07 for life 😄.

Still play Madden 07 & NCAA 07 on my PS2. It's wild how good it is. Really looking forward to whatever 2k cooks up in the next few years when they get back in the space.

I loved making my own play book and took my high schools team playbook to madden and to learn the playbook, I would use the playbook as my teams playbook when I played with friends. Friends loved that the team playbook was there and I gave copies of that to them to play for themselves. I think it helped us know the playbook and how we won a state championship.

Another thing, in Superstar Mode you could import your NCAA 07 Campus legend and play out that career. The stories and lore man made investing worth it in a career mode!

I used to play nfl 2k2 religiously nonstop all day. I was so amazed at the smooth organic animations and the insanely realistic passing trajectories. Then the broadcast presentation was next to none. While playing season mode I threw a Lil bit too high lob pass to Tim brown while on the run even though he still caught it. Seconds later while showing a replay the commentary team was specifically talking about how my feet was not set while throwing and joked about Tim brown having jump boosters on while showing a vertical scale to show how high he jumped. That's the moment I started to realized how superior 2k was🔥

Madden nfl 07 on PS2 was my first madden game and what made me a lifetime football fan. It helped me understand what I was seeing on TV as a kid every Sunday watching football with my dad.

Madden 07 on the GameCube is so goated

Played this game on Gamecube for hundreds of hours with my friends. Pure nostalgia.

Something I really like about this one is the cover athlete. Fitting that the “greatest” Madden game has Alexander The Great on it. Sean Alexander wasn’t the latest diva player to be put in the spotlight, he was a workhorse who did all his talking on the field.

I actually got this and ncaa 07 again, been playing this since and having a blast! Can't believe the detail they put in both of these games, they actually cared about the game

This is the video game I played year after year on the GameCube as a kid. It is the game that made me love football, understand it better, and helped me learn every player in the league. Franchise mode made me want to be a coach, and superstar mode made me want to be a wide receiver. So I’m very grateful for this game’s existence. This and NFL Head Coach we’re my favorites.

04-07 Had so much creativity and innovation. The depth these games had was incredible and it improved year after year. Match that with the additions of the Hit Stick, Skill Stick, QB Cone (I know this mechanic is somewhat divisive but I actually enjoyed the challenge), Lead Blocker, and improved AI, these games were the complete package and made every August a time to look forward to. The immersion is all but gone with Madden. I no longer feel like I'm in the middle of a NFL season when I play. I feel like I'm playing a half-assed, predetermined, undercooked arcade football game that happens to have NFL licensing. The fun is gone. And there's no excuse other than EA's greed and laziness.

I’m in year 2022 in Madden 07 so all the players are imported from NCAA 07 I signed a 2nd year QB last name Brown from Virginia cause my franchise qb is out for 6 weeks I scored 4 TD’s with Brown bro fans was on the radio talking about Brown performance & saying “he got great field vision etc” I was shocked happy & entertained that’s really really deep into the franchise...meanwhile in a article in the NY post my original 2nd string is nagging about playing time...you’re not accurate bruh & my rookie TE scored his first TD all that & more in the NY post that’s really cool

just found your vid while watching reviews of Madden 24. I agree 1000%, I have 2 copies of Madden 2007 for PS2. I absolutely agree that it’s the best Madden ever, especially the franchise mode and training camp. The gameplay and modes just worked.. you felt like you had control of everything.

I've played madden 07 on ps2 since it came out and still play today. several of my franchises have gone for 20 seasons plus and I have never once gotten bored

The vision cone is one of the most realistic things ever added to a football game, which is exactly why everyone hated it. Being an actual QB under pressure isn't supposed to be easy.

I will forever be a fan of Madden NFL 2005 (my first Madden and still my personal favorite), but frankly most of the PlayStation 2 Maddens are exceptional. Hard to find problems with any of them!

I was 21 when 07' came out. Besides Halo and SSBM, we played the ever loving shit out of it in college with my roommates. Great times. I can still remember the rosters by heart.

I agree with everything, except it having the best Franchise Mode of any American football game. That distinction is still held by Head Coach 09 and *THANK YOU* for doing a Retrospective on it! Can't wait to see it!

This was my most played Madden game. Creating an entire team with all original players (with a few free agents you had to sign to someone) took only about an hour. Plus the soundtrack; there is not one song on that game that doesn't bop or rock!

This is the madden my childhood friends and I still play. I always felt it was the best one, but felt it might be nostalgia. I'm happy to know me and my friends weren't the only ones who loved it.

This game was so amazing. I remember getting together with friends and having tournaments with this game. I loved Superstar Mode and playing through college on NCAA 07 and exporting your character to Madden. Oh the love I have for this game.

I remember playing Madden 07 on Wii, was flipping amazing, the throwing mechanic was awesome at that time, throwing bullet passes into tight Windows, or lobs on fade routes, using the wiimote was a game changer.

What I love to do in these old Maddens is create an entire league of created teams and run them in franchise mode. It adds so much replayability. Anybody do that?

One of the most underrated features from this era is being able to have a franchise mode controlling all the teams and essentially running your own league.

I still get out 09 on my PS3 once in a while. It is the oldest version I have that runs on hardware I have in my house. It is sad, that when my PS3 dies, Madden will be a thing of the past. I probably play Sunday Rivals more than anything today, and want to thank you for putting that video out last fall, and it is coming along nicely.

Thanks SDGuy... i needed to know more Golden Era Maddens as 2006,2007,2008,2009 kinda blend in together.. *Why is 2009 considered a letdown? Not just by you but by most.. EVERYONE had that collector;s edition because it was only $10 more or whatever & you got HeadCoach and a cool dvd & case.. BTW,,,i still have my Madden 2009 T-shirt & socks with the "grey/red" logo of 20 years. it's precious to me for sure. but it's a lil big as it's a big large.. **Also have a Madden 13 shirt i won in a contest but it's XL..I won with Buffalo against NewEngland too! I only play my Bills & it's been like that since Madden 92!

Creating your own plays was such an under rated feature

So, it took place little over a year ago (middle of the covid craze). My parents and sister were going to the campsite and it was an hour away from my audiology location and I was already there. I decided to try to wait 3 hours but however, starbucks closed down their dining which prevented me from gaming on my laptop that I brought with me. So, I was driving around town and saw the Game X Change sign and figured "why not". Got in and saw 3 or 4 ps2s and NFL 2k5. Fast forward a year, now I have over 40 ps2 games and 15 ps1 games. I am happy that I went retro and I watched your videos on what to get next to add to my collection. Thanks!

I am so glad someone finally mentioned the Lead Block Control. I was so mad when they removed that that I started buying the next few Madden second hand

This WAS my childhood. I continued to play this title until 2010. Countless hours were spent on Madden 07. Easily the best title of them all. This one was the pinnacle.

Man when I tell u I stayed up allday and night on this game. The mini games were addictive and the Star running backs ran like how they did in real life. SuperStar mode felt more engaging as well. Haircuts,tats, messaging ur agents, actually showing u receive awards
