The Loden Foundation, Bhutan's first registered charity, launched its Entrepreneurship Program in 2008. Since then it has funded 106 local entrepreneurs, creating a total of over 200 employment opportunities nation-wide.
Initiated by the Foundation, MADE IN BHUTAN is a documentary portraying this recent emergence of entrepreneurship. In 2012, pro-bono director Hirondelle Chatelard travelled the kingdom with a Bhutanese film crew meeting and interviewing entrepreneurs and key individuals.
MADE IN BHUTAN was released in the capital city, Thimphu, in November 2013. Since then it has been screened all over Bhutan in various settings, ranging from schools and universities to prisons and TV broadcasts, in the hope to inspire as many young people as possible.
International screenings include London, New York, Washington, San Francisco, Boston, Lyon, Katmandu.
