Madman, do you think this detracts from the GTEK? In other words why spend so much more for a GTEK when you get the same engine and a better ASA in the Etha 2?

My 2 cents, i would still go with GTEK - just because of the board. Etha 2 doesn't have a slot for OLED board. I own GTEK, no regrets so far. I would still like to hear opinion of @The Madman

Yes it will. To some degree. You're basically getting the same performance for less money, so if the ergonomics are ok for you, you don't mind the looks and you don't mind playing with a "cheap" gun, there's really no compelling reason to upgrade to GTek. The trigger might be less refined, don't know, but for most players I don't think even that is a real issue. Barrel? Are they still putting 693s in these? The 160R is a nicer package, but it's also roughly twice the price. Some potential GTek purchasers will definitely go for Etha2 instead. Especially when aftermarket bodykits are available. How many? Hard to tell.

Yeah they go pretty far but they eventually break the guns. What I tried here was take to an extreme level ordinary obstacles you'd run into with any gun while playing. My goal wasn't to break the gun for the sake of breaking it; but more to test how far it could go. Thankfully it didn't break, lol.

Consider that there's a bit of inverse-survivorship bias here... the way the Etha 2 is put together just means that those parts are way less likely to break down. There's also the reality that the electronics in it are rather conventional, the solenoid uses the same wires and connectors as we've always seen and the eyes are soldered straightforwardly and you could easily fix them yourself with a bit of skill. The key difference is that all of it is 100% in the frame. Also mind that this hoseless design isn't relying on frame pressure to sandwich correctly seal, it's a proper spool-type oring seal, which is far more reliable than macroline. Trust me, man, we'll see Etha 2s chugging along just fine in the distant future.

@@JustCantGetRight Reliable? You will ALWAYS be able to buy macro fittings and hose. Nothing more reliable than a replacement. You won't be able to replace the body of that gun or whatever area the frame seals against. It's not a knock on you or the gun, its a knock against this push towards everything being wireless, and talking to stupid google nest and cars that turn off at red lights. It all sounds great until it dont work anymore! I like stuff that can be repaired with parts which are far from proprietary.

It's a gun (as in it's a machine that propels projectiles down a tube with the force of an explosion), it's a marker (as in the projectiles it propels mark their target with paint), but it is NOT a weapon (as in it is not designed to be lethal)/rifle (as in not having a rifled barrel). I hope that clears things up.

Eh, the Gtek is still better, yes they have the same engine, but I'm pretty sure everything else internally is different.

It's also about how it look and feel in your hands. For me, the extra worth it.
