Thanks for the great reviews buddy. CS1 has bin my favorite gun to shoot since I purchased it. Also your etha 2 video was great. Thanks for doing them.
So here we are almost a year later and it would seem the market spoke. The asking price is still the same or more if you consider the CSR version and they still sell. Currently PE USA only has in stock maybe 1/3 of the versions offered, and CSR's are almost totally gone. I bought a CSR Tokyo Fade at WC, and just bought another CS1 yesterday. PE FTW
bro how do you not have more subs this shit is funny and done really well with some great info ! haha you got the dark trooper i have the csr light trooper !
I’m debating this or a m2 I have small hands would this still be comfortable or too big I’m leaning toward this because the shot quality and the company that’s making it
Before I give my opinion, I should point out that the CSR is not a mass production marker, so it doesn't really categorize the same as the CS1 with price; with that I mean that the CS1 is still the most expensive mass production marker Eclipse has made. With that out of the way, I think the CS1 is a neat experiment and a nice luxury item. What I do like about it is that it's one of the few luxury paintball products that puts practical before pretty, with the weight savings through intricate machining and that sick looking Shaft FL. I really like what I've seen, but it's worth restating that it is a limited edition luxury meaning that most people that will get it will probably do so because it's a nicer and more prestigious posession.
Hey madman you have the most knowledge when it comes to paintball markers by far I love your content. Currently I have an etha and I was wondering what is better a geo 3 or Etek 5 or ego 11. I would love to check out the Gtek but here in canada the used market is limited so I can't find the Gtek used so far, and what is a better hopper spire or r2
You won't hear me recommend the used market much... I'm a firm believer that getting products new is better for both the user and the sport. The only times I've looked at the used market is if I know and am 100% sure about what I want or if I just want a gun for cheap and I look to see what I find and you're prepared to fix any potential (and probable) problems the gun will have when it ships. If you're undecided about what to get or if you are in need of a gun, make a safe investment. A new product with fresh parts, backed by warranty and no history of abuse or problems will serve you better in the long run. Out of the ones you listed though, I found the Etek 5 most comfortable but the Ego 11 and Geo 3 most fun to mess around with. Shot feel was enjoyable on all and I have no complaints about any of them. As far as the hopper goes, I'm modestly biased against rotors. I have my reasons, lol. I would actually recommend giving Valken a chance with their new loader, the Switch. If it's anything as good as the V-max (but not nearly as ugly and runs on AAs), it looks like it will be my go-to loader for that price point. Sorry for taking 3 months to reply, sadly I'm a university student first and content producer second :( If you've got any questions of any kind, please follow up. I'll be more than happy to get back to you.
Hey madman I have a question, if you could get a brand new Luxe ICE or a CS1 which would you get and why I have been looking at these two markers since they came out and I can't choose
That is a very difficult question to answer. They are similar and different in many ways. You can expect a smoother shot from the Luxe and a more reliable machine in the Geo. The Luxe is a skinny gun with a very metallic feel while the Geo is a very beefy and rubbery feel. What I think will be the deciding factor is if you shoot them both at a target at 50 feet or further. They point quite differently. The CS1 hits higher for me and the ICE hits a bit lower. This means that whichever you get on target quicker with will be the more natural shot for you. I have some additional thoughts on my written review that's up on pbnation. You can find the link in the description. Best of luck! I'm sure you will be ecstatic with either or, they are both marvelous markers.
I WILL AGREE WITH THAT I GOT THE ICE BECAUSE MY TEAMMATE HAS A CS1 AND THE ICE HAS A SMOOTHER AND QUIETER SHOT BUT IS IS SKINNER AND HAS A SHORTER REACH FROM THE CS1 BUT THE CS1 IS EASIER TO MANTIAN AND KEEP WORKING BUT THE LUXE IS VERY EASIE TOO.
+Hotroddj17 I have shot both markers and the Luxe ICE is the smoothest by far and although they do have differences they are similar in both ways maintenance and efficiency. I just don't know which one to get , I've been a Luxe fan since I first owned one when the 2.0s came out but when the CS1 came out and I had a chance to test it, it has definitely been a competitor. The only thing that's kept the ICE above water over the CS1 is the fact that they have 2 barrel inserts compared to one .689 I think it is, but the .691 insert is completely irrelevant when it comes to competition grade paint because it's usually bored in .687 and under so it's basically the same as the CS1 this is the problem I'm having they're both great markers I think it just comes down to the technicalities of the marker.
SFR all the way open stock dwell at 27ms and hard face bolt is what I would run with. It's a combo that gives the bolt enough time to cycle forward and also reduce friction and resistance.
Gun and barrel accuracy is marketing jargon tbh. The main contributor to accuracy is quality of paint. With these guns what I mean with "more gun" is the overall quality of the machine. -The Electronics -Ease of servicing -Accessibility for troubleshooting -Ergos (this one is subjective) -Build quality -Performance metrics -Paint Handling -Reliability The CS1/R will be better in all those and even more.
Okay thanks brother love your high depth in videos ... still leaning on hk army shocker .. I love the gsl and 3.5 geo :/ but can't find them in stock on ans gear :/ sadly add me on Instagram ....... - alias_taylor
That's certainly true. It's bigger than most guns. I did appreciate that because it makes one handed shooting for me easier. As far as the styling, eclipse has definitely moved toward a more luxurious look instead of what I considered to be their traditional sporty and aggressive look.
+The Madman that's true. It just looks like I'm shooting out a burrito. The Eye covers look nice and the barrel too. I think it's just the way the grips and the body come together it looks meh.
Hey Madman, I finally got my CSR ordered in, do you have any tips for tweaking the dwell and SFR? I was going to break it in first before doing any tuning. What do you recommend? (Dwell timing and SFR fully opened, fully closed or partial?)
The whole setup is pretty idiot-proof out of the box. You'll be able to freely mess with the SFR without touching the dwell, the IV core is insensitive to dwell changes in respects of efficiency. If you want to drop the dwell to see how low you go, grab a bag of paint, sit on the chrono and shoot 5 balls dropping the dwell by .5 each time. When your gun shoots inconsistent or doesn't fire at all, bump up the dwell one ms and you'll be ready to go.
Just wanted to say thank you for the reply and videos! So the SFR is strictly how -I- want the bolt to feel and how I want it to treat the paint? It wont really have a negative or positive in respect to damaging anything or air efficiency? Likewise with the dwell, what would be the gains for lowering it? (I just notice it's much higher than some other markers I've shot.
The slower bolt setting on the SFR improves efficiency slightly but that's about it. The only reason to tune dwell would really be to achieve higher rates of fire. It's set so high for reliability, considering the gun is dwell insensitive.
The Madman I have an etek 5 and would like to buy another gun. My question is would an lv1.5 be considered enough of an upgrade or should I just buy the 1.5? Thanks in advance
That's unfortunately not physically possible. They operate on different activation principles so the solenoids are in opposite sides of the actions. I will say though, the IV Core is still in production with CS1.5 it's not getting pulled out completely as far as I know.
Eric Reyna Shhhh ;) The Paintball Gods might hear you. To answer the question about the Gtek, no, I will not get rid of it but it will not keep taking center stage as much. I have some cool things to show off and talk about that I think you guys will enjoy.
Careful how you shoot into the air aiming at stuff I almost hit my neighbors daughter one day doing that and he banged on my door throwing a hissy fit..it was a funny
+Ted Zipoy lol I've shot a cs1 lol ;). Don't get me wrong it's good. I just prefer me a vapor lol. Also dude my eyes completely broke and I tuned it to shoot blind.
Not really the exact same board, but yeah, the same user interface since the Ego 10 actually. However, in its defense, the board's capabilities were top notch when it came out and still are. Inarguably the fastest navigation in paintball right now. I do believe that there's area for advancement in the screen and maybe bluetooth with an E-Portal app; but to argue that the board lacks in quality or capability to me is a bit of a head scratcher. The only board that I think is better in its capabilities is the M2's... and for that gun I could say "Dye's most advanced gun and yet it still uses the same bolt system as the 2003 Matrix," but that argument doesn't hold water because the FUSE bolt is a damn good drivetrain that has proven its worth for over a decade and the same goes for the Eclipse boards.
You missed the point. I said that despite the FUSE bolt being old it "is a damn good drivetrain that has proven its worth for over a decade" and that the same applies to the Eclipse boards; despite being relatively old now, they are still damn good top quality boards. Also, the LPR focusses its control on the *return* of the bolt and the pressure that holds the bolt back. The LPR and a 4-way solenoid are needed to control the bolt so that it doesn't slam forward and back like the reflex rail while it's sailing since the bolt has a forward bias. In short, this means that you *need* to tune the matrix platform and balance pressures with dwell times occasionally to get that softer shot that you're talking about. Same goes for EVERY gun with an LPR really, if you want to consistently get the shot you tuned the gun for, you have to sit down with your gun and tune it every once in a while. So really, depending on what you like, having the LPR is either a gift from heaven or a burden from hell. I actually DO prefer the shot of the M2 over the CS1 (despite me liking the CS1 platform a bit more). The GEO has a very simple firing mechanism that doesn't need tuning (though you can do dwell tuning to raise ROF) and still can soften or speed up the shot with the SFR for the *forward* stroke as opposed to the rearward stroke on the M2. These discussions really are about preferences. Do you take the straight path in the desert or the wooded one humping up and down the hills? They're both taking you the same place, which one you'd rather take is purely up to you. In my case, I'll sometimes take the desert and sometime go through the woods. I know both paths well and am equally prepared to handle each.
