I seriously don't understand why people have said ageist crap about Madonna since the early 2000s. Aside from being beautiful and full of life, she only looks and seems about 40...maybe its because she's still raising young kids/teens (she didn't have Lourdes til she was 38) and stays in tune with pop culture and music obviously.
JPMcFly1985Two -It's called jealousy..and not having accomplished even 1% of what this living legend has. This woman has been doing this for 32 years..is still musically relevant..and is richer than god. Yet these young punks criticizing her actually have the nerve to compare her to the artists of today who we all know won't be around for the next 10 years..much less 32 like Madonna. Stupidity and ignorance is all around us..but thankfully that doesn't stop Madonna from continuing to be the Queen of Pop Music. =)
JPMcFly1985Two Exactly! But as Voltaire declared.."Common sense isn't so common.". It would be like me telling Donald Trump "You don't know how to make money" or telling Cher "You need to earn another Oscar to stay on top"..lol. And you know what's funny? Most of these people putting Madonna down are people who haven't achieved ANYTHING. Most of them are in dead-end jobs working at Walmart or taking orders in call centers. Not that there's anything wrong with those jobs..but I mean seriously..how in the world can you criticize someone who came from nothing..who moved to NYC in her late teens and had to eat thrown away food from a McDonald's dumpster just to survive..who was robbed and raped..and who still persevered to become the most successful female musical artist of all time? Even if I didn't like her I would still pay her my respects for doing things I could never do or accomplish and overcoming all that pain and heartache. And as for being an older woman..good on her. As someone once said.."Getting old beats the alternative.". But we now live in a world full of people who sit on their asses and think they are entitled to everything without having to work for it. And in their minds they are as big and important as Madonna is. But in real life..they are nothing compared to her Madgesty. =)
Nightbird AMEN. And can I have that 'OF ALL TIME' in bold letters, please. If it was not for her, and the four walls covered with pictures of her in my teens, I would never have done half the things I have done in my life. Without Madonna I would have stayed the good girl I was raised to be, the unambitious and the unadventurous kind. The one that could not even have imagined being of any importance. -- Luckily, that was just a nightmare that would never be.
You're both right on the money. If people dissing Madge realized not only how much she's been a pioneer and revolutionized pop culture and sexuality (making it okay and even inspiring for women to be as openly sexual as dudes had always been)...but her personal struggles early on, they'd hopefully think twice. And my (quick) answer has always been, "Let's see how you'll be at 56!" Which really isn't old at all these days. I know plenty of stunningly beautiful women in their 50s, even 60s.
JPMcFly1985Two If I look half as good as Madge does at 56 I will be one happy camper. I just smeared Vaseline all over my face before bedtime to try to make that dream come true..lol. It's an old dermatologist secret. =)
+MadonnaDelRey did you know we all dressed like her in the 80's ?& the term" Madonna wannabe" was and is in Websters dictionary since 1992? Id say THAT... Is pretty cool ;)
People need to remember this woman is an icon and completely altered the modern music industry in her youth. She is an icon & without her we probably wouldn't even have Britney Spears.

A good mother does not scream the word mother-f during concerts to her audience and a good mother does not expose herself to her audience and invite her son to tour with her to watch her. Ugh. i would never trust her near a child. Ever.
"I think I can parent better than anyone else which is why I need to validate my opinion and let the world know that I think." -- Different ways of parenting and they all are not going to be up to your standards. You've lived in this world long enough that I'd assume you would know that. But everyone has got to tell someone else how to parent.
She's not a normal mom. Who cares? She's uncommon, strong and very brave to defend her controversial career and her own way to raise a big lovely multiracial family.
she's such a cool person and very wise, her lyrics opened my mind and heart so many times through the years ever since the 90's when I first listened to her music and became a fan immediately
2Bdiscovered I do agree with you for the most part. She's almost 60 now n gained weight so naturally that affects how you look. But she keep doing fillers and they are not flattering on her now. Finally, Gina Brooke did her makeup in this interview and you can see her technique is so different from her current makeup artist.
No...but she's "heavy" for Madonna. It's the biggest I've ever seen her. And actually...I like it. It humanizes her and makes her seem more approachable! She could be a grandma now for goodness sakes...time to let her relax a little.
