Madonna is an American pop icon and a revolutionary who remains one of the most influential figures in American music and culture today. Madonna is the material girl who made it through the wilderness of anonymity to become one of the most enduring pop icons and entertainers of all time. Madonna’s fame has endured for decades and she refuses to let go of her stranglehold of ‘cool’. Throughout her life she has pushed the envelope. Unequivocally, she has stood the test of time fully supported by her huge global fan base. One of Madonna’s greatest achievements is how she has manipulated the media and the public with her music, her videos, her publicity, and her sexuality. Arguably, Madonna was the first female pop star to have complete control of her music and image. Crystallize sets its focus on examining what drives this inspirational mother, astute business- women and talented performer, whom over decades in the spotlight, continues to transform and transfix audiences across the globe.

Everything M did was an event! A new promo, a new single, a new video, a new concert. Everyone congregate to witness the event unfold. The protests for the movie was so weird n stupid, the movie hadn’t even screened yet. It was celebrated after it was released, just look at the reception when she played the songs at Bueno Aires years later.

Why do care to much? Is she like a religion and you are a mormon who have to convert younger people. Well Great news, they know who she is. They live in the Information era. People in Madagascar and Krygystan in the 1980s knew who was Marilyn Monroe. So these so called Gen Z know she is the Queen of Pop. They are just hesitant to love her, because in recent years she is way too associated to the LGBTQRST community.

U cant really say anything about the 1980s music and movies wiout mentioning madonna ruling the pop charts! Hit after hit they just kept coming! Shes slowed down a bit now(2022) but she deserves an early retirement as 4 decades of superstardom is worth sitting back now n saying "thats it im done time to enjoy my golden years"!

I roll my eyes whenever people talk about Madonna "reinventing herself" That cheapens her and her extraordinary talent. She's a creative genius and she expresses herself and celebrates with us whatever her current muse / inspiration is.
@crispinhandly6159
@crispinhandly6159 2 года назад
"She expresses herself with whatever her current muse or inspiration is". You just described the reinvention process. When someone's current muse or inspiration is different from the last and this reflects in their work, they are reinventing themselves. It's like saying "I roll my eyes whenever people say Madonna makes "music". She takes notes and just happens to create melodies out of them, which leads to songs. Calling this "music" cheapens what she actually does."

It must be clearly understood that pop performers are not real bands. They are a product. They are performers. The promotion of performers like Madonna by record companies is a cynical and concerted effort to make as much money as possible and quickly as possible. Their lives are controlled and governed by business executives who manipulate their lives. Artists have real ability and do not seek public approval. They don't care about public approval. They simply create music, painting, novels, act, dance because it comes naturally to them. Mozart was playing the piano fluently by 5. These performers are a product of the record company and the public is fed this image of them as talented and successful. You need to see past the glitz and tabloids. Madonna was young and impressionable and that is exactly what the record companies wanted and still want. This way they can control them and promise them riches and fame, but the only ones who really benefit from this are the record companies. Very few people in pop music have had the clout and power that record companies do, like Paul McCartney or Jimmy Page. They don't want talented kids. They want kids who have no bargaining power and parents who are willing to sign their lives away. Think about it. And please stop buying into the hype of popular music. The record companies are just salivating for your dollars and your naivete. In fact, don't look at them. What they look like is not important. The clothes they wear is not important. The lifestyles they lead are not important. The only thing that is important is the music and simply allowing an image to sway you is not fair to them or to yourself. Use your ears and not your eyes.

It’s hard to call her the queen even though I understand it. It’s just difficult for me growing up in the 80s knowing she had contemporaries like Janet Jackson but more so Whitney Houston which up to now is one of the most influential singers ever Grammy wise. Whitney Houston kicked her butt, and sometimes sales and number one hits. in the 90s it was Whitney Houston and Janet Jackson and Mariah Carey as well as Céline Dion that were more chart toppers than Madonna. I think her brand and her name outlasted everyone but I don’t see her music past the early 90s being all that great or everlasting.

i like madonna as a singer...but she needs to grow up and accept the aging process. I am like probably countless other thousands of people believe she has gone too far in the cos surgery department. If she thinks any man...or woman ...if they sway that way would want to bed her in 2023....she must also believe Elvis is still alive too!!!!!!!!!!!

@@oscarfernald9402after the MJ debacle, I think most people who criticize her plastic surgery comes from a right place. They don’t want to see her self destruct like MJ.

@@PungiFungi He didn’t die from cosmetic surgery, did he? As long as she keeps away from the heavy pain killers she’ll be fine. And I can imagine that getting people in bed isn’t top of her priority list anymore at 65 😁 Why not compare her to Cher? She is, what, 77 now, practically invented cosmetic surgery, and didn’t ‘self destruct’.

This whole "rags to riches" story is total BS. Madonna came from a comfortable middle class background.
@eduardochavacano
@eduardochavacano 3 года назад
not total BS, because middle class doesnt mean much, if you didnt get your parent’s blessing or if she really just wanted to be independent. Lots of poor people in China come to Shanghai with very little monkey and they end up becoming super mega rich. So this story is not so unusual.

her father provided a decent home & lifestyle, however she had $35 in her pocket & was poor in New York for a long time. she worked in dunkin donuts, was a hat check girl in The Tea Room, amongst others. it was rags to riches in that respect. what she's achieved is phenomenal.
