My favourite DOOM track. I used to listen to it every single morning while I got ready for my day during a pretty tough time in my life. I cry when I hear it now because it makes me think about the days when I really needed to hear it just to reassure myself that my day wouldn’t be as bad as I thought it would be. Those days never were as bad as I thought. Keep your heads up guys, and know that even if it seems impossible, everything works itself out in the end.
Nobody's gonna mention "I kid you not, on the dotted line sign, ever since a minor kids considered him some kinda Einstein on the diamond mine grind"? that shit is tight. Also, "Early in the mornin' face crud from like a mud fight" just sounds really good to me for some reason

This is the song that made me fall in love with DOOM and hip hop. Like as soon as this song reached halfway I realised this was something special. Then of course Rhinestone Cowboy comes on and stuns me as much as this track did. RIP DOOM, I wouldn’t be who I am today without his music.
thats the thing, doom upon first listen sounds like gibberish and made up words but once you listen deeper its like a cave of mysteries and amazing shit
DOOM is unique. Most the time, especially on this album he tends to be pretty off-kilter but that's his style for the most part. It gels nicely with Madlib's sometimes pretty unique sometimes bizarre production.
Doom asked a guy for a light, the guy pulled up a lighter, doom was like "nah I mean a bud light" basically he's saying that first thing he does in the morning is drink beer
love the videos man. only criticism is if the rhyme pattern changes you need to put a space between stanzas otherwise the color coding is a bit confusing. other than that please keep up the good work! if youre doing requests id love to see "gas drawls" "thats that" "more rhymin" and "hey"
Hey dude, thanks for the comment! And I will definitely look in to putting a space in between to make it easier :) I was working on "Fazers" but after that I'll give "Gas Drawls" or "Hey" a go.
tbh id say this misses some smaller subtle stuff e.g. Groo(1)vy(2) dude(3), not to prove(1) to be(2) rude(3) and other internal rhyme that doesnt match an exact syllable like how "mama i want to sing" has "mama" and "want" with basically the same sound. but i digress

Idk what y'all are on about treating doom like he's underground or left field. Doom, especially this album is HUGELY popular and beloved by like everybody.
And Madvillainy was all over the radio when it came out. The only reason they don't play it as much bow is because of how old it is. Even so, I still hear doom on the radio pretty frequently. Last time I heard him on the radio was 3 days ago.
