Soul Bossanova by Quincy Jones, arranged by Alexander L'Estrange. Sung by the Philippine Madrigal Singers at St. Vincent Ferrer Church in New York City on September 9, 2007.
very beautiful sound. if there's one tiny imperfection, it's that some of the men (that's visible from this camera angle) look depressed and tired. i wish they smiled more to reflect the energy, playfulness and humor of this piece.
you can have a ton of cd recordings but can they deliver live???? besides, that's why the philippine madrigal singers are the best they have the skills and the awards to back it up.
no one's asking for your opinion... post it on youtube if u want us to get impresses... but, uh, I GUESS I WONT BE... hahaha!! MADZ THE BEST IN THE WHOLE WORLD!!!
1. my comment on your language concerned your use of "get" rather than "be". 2. it is not my group but a group at my school. 3. there is no video of their performance, though there are several CDs of other work. they are called "cantores episcopi" if you can be bothered to google them. 4. I didn't say this vid is bad, I'm just saying our group's performance was better.
Everyone is entitled to his/her opinion. It's just unethical to compare your own performance with that of somebody you're critiquing. Lumalabas kasi na self-serving. But I respect anybody's opinion.
i know this is late, fyi this was the batch who won 2007egp grand prix in europe and you think youre version is better keep it to yourself,, the madz already proven that they possess world class talent by winning in the prestigious competition
I wish I can see their version where they can sing in a less echoey space (this piece doesn't work in this space) so we can hear all parts better instead of just high notes, and livelier rendition instead of sitting still.
