Despite Henry being an informant,he was a cool and well written character. His death was so gruesome and brutal, it shocked the players at the time, and made the killings in the restaurant satisfying.
Daniel Vavra who wrote original story confirmed about few years ago, that Henry Tomasino wasn't a rat, he was framed by Falcone, and if they didn't rushed game we would find out truth about Henry🤷♂️ but I can't find his original twitter post sadly
Henry said Sidney Pen the fat boss was his 13th contract. 13 is his unlucky number, yet in his 13th contract he got shot, coincidentally he died in chapter 13
Actually in every job Henry has been involved in we see in the game, things fucked up. The OPA job with the expiration dates in the stamps got Vito inprison, the Irish mob robbing the same jewelry store on the same night as Vito and Joe was more or less a stupid random occurrence but still. Getting shot by Sidney Pen. He decided to let Leo go or Leo escaped so he couldn’t complete that contract as well, and now this entire dope deal.
@@Amelia_PC Well he might have not even been ratting on Joe and Vito specifically. I like to think he genuinely liked them and his goal was to take down the bosses, not Joe or Vito. :)
@@Willzyyy True! I bet if Henry was alive at the end of game, he would help Vito to put a bullet on Falcone with a smile on his face. Even if he's working for FBI. Aw crap, now I want this to become a DLC XD
Sad that the very last thing *spoiler* hears is, "The money's gone, too." All that you risk in that business and it ends in a pool of your own blood and nobody really cares, informant or not
I thought I was the only one who realized after finishing this game again after years that Vito is unsensitive, didn't care when Marty died, he only thought of the money when Henry died. He was straight cold and emotionless
@@isaacster5027 Not really, you could say he is a bit rational but you might have noticed him doing the cross as he is catholic and he also expresses horror at his death while driving to the restaurant.
I was 11 back in 2010 and I remember the scene where Henry died shocked me. I hadn't seen anything like it, it was so brutal. Damn, I really need to re-play the story!
The soundtrack too, my God. This is how you do game stories. Yes, I hate the fact there's no free roam option but at the same time, I love the story too much to care half the time
Thanks! I like to edit out long drives without dialogue because I feel it ruins the flow of the story/gameplay. I try to make these play out like a series. :)
Hey Willzyyy I wanted to know your opinion on the whole Henry informant revelation. Do you think he was setting Vito and Joe up? Also who do you think the cops were at the deal? I don't think they were working for the tongs. The Henry informant scene has never really been fully explained.
I really don't know. I'd like to think he truly liked Vito and Joe and was not trying to get them locked up, but was going after the higher ranked members instead. It's also possible he was morally conflicted between being an informant and the living the Mafia life, after all, he worked with them for such a long time he probably had developed genuine friendships, especially with Joe and Vito.
hi there,Henry wasn't a informant or even working for FED's, he was somehow framed by Falcone confirmed by Daniel Vavra few years ago in his twitter post and if they didn't rushed a game, we would find out that Henry wasn't a rat and he was innocent, well kind of, he was mob, but he was loyal to his families Clemente's even Falcone's family, but Falcone never trust him.
This scene, and the opening scene from cod 5 WAW when they put out that cigar in the dudes eye.... these two scenes rocked me when I was a kid, some real heavy shit.
Apart from the outstanding writing of this game (and the constent comical bantering between vito and joe), one thing that made it more "alive" from mafia 3 you can say is the fact that they managed to write any sort of possible "criminal" activity and weave it into the story in a good way: motorhead greasers, jewish loansharks, the Chinese tongs, the union led by the Italian mob, it all gave this game a true feeling like you're watching a film by Martin Scorsese. Mafia 3's open world is indeed empty: after the prologue you constantly just take out "hits" on all sorts of racket, but, besides the setting and furniture (and the target's description which I always like to read) there isn't really anything to differentiate one place from another. I sincerely hope hanger 3 will go with a formula similar to that of the remake's (mafia definitive edition, which will hopefully let us explore the next city a bit further, like dining, drinking, maybe some background information like the cigarette cards, maybe even tiny (and simple, maybe a bit repetitive, something that doesn't require too much code) errands.
Henry being the mentor of Vito and Joe paid the price by making the Heroin deal with the Triads after his cover was blown meeting his gruesome fate resulting in the two starting a war between all the gangs leading to Vito's exile.
Henry’s death still to this day doesn’t make sense to me. If he was an Informant, how come Wong & Bruno know him well? And why would he agree to go in the dope business knowing full blown well Carlo was already in on it? That’s enough to put Carlo locked up.
Wong himself said that one of their informants in the FBI told him about Henry passing information about their deal. He must’ve found out after they concluded their deal in chapter 12. Otherwise why would he risk giving drugs to an FBI informant knowing who he was? Same with Bruno, he also probably had no idea Henry was a rat at the time of their deal, otherwise why would he give him that amount of money knowing it would probably end up in the hands of the feds and used to connect the dots between him and known crime bosses i.e Carlo Falcone, Alberto Clemente and Frank Vinci?
one thing i never got is why it wasn’t falcone who took henry out as henry broke the code of omertà for those who don’t know what omertà is it’s a mafia code of silence about criminal activity and a refusal to give evidence to the police and since henry was made wouldn’t the tongs need permission from the commission to wack him? small details like this make me think if henry was really a rat or he was sold out by falcone as he was from clemente’s family and falcone wanted rid of the whole family?
It just had to be MR WONG!!!!! God damn man guess not all Chinese characters are your friends in games. Some of them are your friends. Others are your enemies. It's so damn confusing homie.
Hope you sold some sport cars at Derek's before doing Chapter 14 cause that sum ain't going to be easy to cover just by robbing gun stores and destroying cars
11:05 when i open GateThere is nothing here in my game When i go in I fall and teleport in sky and game says you Could not complete the mission anyone have same problem here?
