Hello, I have a question about this ending. If I leave town but I keep all 3 underbosses happy, will then the game randomly decide who will take over ?
Vito really achieved his dream to Become rich and powerful and also reaching to a grand old age of 100 years old thst makes Joe proud of his Best Pal. I hope they reunited each other after Marcano and Galante's death that makes Joe as Vito's Second in command of his mob.
Because hes the only one that knows how this life works. He learned from his mistakes in mafia 2 and has the resources and connections to expand his power.
Vito deserves this the most, he has been doing this shit for over 25 years, the guy can't just be tossed to the side, he deserves the throne. He really does
@@mohdshahariar5833nooo no no no dont say that about Joe :( i am sure Joe does not know Vito is alive and wouldnt be with Leo if he did. Joe is a good man :(
James and Donovan are the Angel and Devil on Lincoln’s shoulders. Does he follow James and leave town? Follow Donovan and betray his underbosses? Or carve his own path? I personally prefer leaving town but rule together is also valid in my eyes.
But like Father James saved his life so it's kind of fucked up to ignore it and also he kind of raised him and Donovan might saved his life in Vietnam but that's a different story.
Mafia 4 is going to focus on Mr.Salleri from M1, I believe they are going for a Godfather 2 style of story, will you switch from the 1900s to the mid 30s
Mafia 4 storyline should be based on the historical Midwest Mafia that control the Las Vegas operation from 70s to early 80s. Just like the movie Casino (1995).
The city prospers under Lincoln and his lieutenants or under Vito alone. But only when Vito takes over, we know for sure he is still alive, enjoying his retirement.
John can be a little bit of an asshole, but he was one of my favorite characters in the game. I especially loved his and Lincoln's interactions throughout. I wonder if he ever found the rest of those conspirators?
@@JohnDonovan1968 yeah the ending in which there's a crime "family" full of different cultures and backgrounds with a lot of bad history is gonna work in hangar13's mind. And the one with an italian that worked his ass off and lost everything and was exiled is not canon. Makes sense for a franchise called "mafia"
@@JohnDonovan1968 yeah nobody cares but the feds do. Too much blood attracts unnecessary attention. Exposes the people to the media and then the cops. That's why they form a commission and talk in times of war, and only among themselves. Made men of Italian blood
@@JohnDonovan1968 the game's journalist repeatedly called marcano reputed mobster so they know they exist. Meyer lansky and luciano met each other when they were teenagers. There was some kind of bond and trust among them and everybody trusted him. I can't say the same thing about Lincoln
I remember reading years ago by one of the developers where he hinted this was the true cannon ending. Lincoln right from the get go never wanted to run the city. He just wanted revenge for what happened to his family. He achieved that. This should be the ending of his arc and journey as a character. I hope I'm Mafia 4 they allude to this to be cannon.
Actually hits home when all your dreams n aspirations can be granted at the flick of your fingers after everything you've been through but now something else has come up in your life, something that can swallow your whole soul up.
I can actually live with 2 different endings. Lincoln and Vito run the town together as partners or this one Lincoln Leaves town leaving it all to Vito !
Vitos ending is still just the second best ending. At least for the City. Making New Bordeaux a City of gambling and other sins and vices is not as good as rebuilding neighborhoods and support schools and Hospitals like Lincoln did.
When thinking of how long people will live today, many folks reaching even the latter half of their 90s, Vito could potentially still be alive. He'd be 97 by now as he was born in 1925, was it?
Lincoln wasn't cut out to be Boss he was a soldier and that was that better to let a guy like Vito take over who knew how to handle the Commission and handle business
Yeah It would have been cool if they did a DLC with Vito, maybe have him reunite with Joe and he could help Vito run the city as his underboss or something.
I hope Mafia 4 actually gets made and we get to see Vito one more time, still large and in charge of New Bordeaux. I mean, by the time Agent Maguire said that Vito owns (not 'owes', but *owns*) the city, during his interview/documentary, it was 2016. Since Vito was born in 1925, that'd make him 91. So, if there was any direct follow-up to Mafia 3, prior to 2016, Vito would SURELY have to still be alive. (but this is assuming we all agree that Vito's favorable ending is the definitive ending for Mafia 3).
Well, in GTA 3, you can see a billboard where there is a plane advertisement which says 'see you in miami' or something. This is a reference to the (then) upcoming videogame GTA Vice City, which is set in Miami!!!! Maybe Hangar 13 is doing the same with Las Vegas and preparing us for (maybe and hopefully) mafia 4 in LV
Funny because i didnt really care so much about the story but i loved the gameplay. 3rd person cover shooters with optional stealth are my favorite. And the city was beautiful and unique in gaming.
the side stuff was kinda repettive..the main story missions where pretty cool though and had potential...and the Gunplay was pretty good..Honestly, I got it at Luna Videogames for 5 dollars so it was a good 5 dollars well spent..it is a pretty buggy game though..so its a solid 7/10 for me...
I mean look at thier dealing way Vito was from his birth a person who was involved with the mafia he wanted to be part of it Unlike mafia 3 protagonist
A question, if I may: what determines the person in in charge of New Bordeaux if I divided the districts evenly between Cassandra, Burke and Vito, and I choose the leave the city ending?
Lincoln is more of a boomer than the priest. I know people call anyone that's old a boomer but I thought it's supposed to mean baby boomer and Lincoln is pretty close to being a baby boomer. I think he was born during WW2.
The cutscene of Vito’s death may be the classic ending to all the old great Golden Age gangster movies, but I believe that Vito achieving his own “American Dream” in this ending is the ultimate statement towards the regulations that held down the movies that inspired these games. Man, I love Mafia.
Mafia 4 has to bring John back he was a crazy good character and we still don’t know what became of him.I think in the ending where you leave town with all 3 under bosses alive the one with most districts takes control but if Vito or Cassandra take over they obv rule the whole city but Vito and Burke gets the districts and Burke gets his liver transplant but this time dies of old age
I think after you leave town it just loads the game like you never left town and then you can decide to take over as well, really nothing happens. You can can play the DLCs if you have them but you can play the DLC missions at any time during the game, you don't have to wait till after the main story.
To me this is the only ending that makes cannon sense. Lincoln was a good man he didnt want power even people keep wanting him to take it. He leave the black mob for the army to make it himself he was planing on leaving again even tho he was offered controll of the black mob he still didnt want it he only stayed to get his revenge. He was a simple man yet he was his own man who didnt care to much for marital things or power, he had a misson he finished it. Donovan was the same he didnt care for power he wanted to do what was right in his view thats why they got on soo well. Vito tho, all he craved was money, respect and power he choose this life soo many time even after it led him to war, prison and death of his friends. He and joe had one goal each to do what they had to to make it.
I’ve seen the ending where the Father kills Lincoln and in my opinion it’s so out of character, like he says his “soul can only take so much” yet he decides to kill him? I feel like it would make more sense to turn him in to the police or something (but why I know 😭).
@@americangangster1911 You don't have to kill them both. I saved all three of them and after I left the city, Vito still took control. I think it matters whoever has the most earn between the three lieutenants.
Donovan and Father James are like the Devil and Angel on Lincoln's shoulders Donovan : "go on, this fucks deserve to go" Father James : "come on Lincoln , you had your revenge you have to stop at some point" Since religion seems to be the topic in this game I am not surprised
Hard to see this as the good ending when Lincoln spends the rest of his life on the run and it's not Lincoln was any worse than Vito, he built schools and charities.
Most mob bosses end up either murdered or spending the rest of their life in prison. If I were Lincoln I would get as much money as possible and go live somewhere far away. I don't see why Lincoln staying the boss would stop him from being arrested, being the boss didn't stop John Gotti and many other mob bosses from going to prison. Also being a bigger fan of Mafia 2 I can't help but appreciate seeing Vito get a a happy ending. I guess I just like Vito more than Lincoln but then again what I said about bosses still stands so who knows what Vito's future might be but they did kind of make it look like Vito had a perfect ending to his story.
@@americangangster1911 With no assets and the cops constantly on your tail that money is gonna dry up fast. Leaving was probably the morally correct decision for Lincoln, but becoming a crime boss seems like the best outcome for someone full of ptsd and bloodlust as there's at least some brief comfort in that. With this ending it sounds like Lincoln never has a chance for real comfort.
Somehow I want Donovan to be the lead protagonist in the next Mafia game. Like the story should be how he comes after the persons along with Senator Blake who plotted to kill President Kennedy
For me, the perfect ending would be leaving town and letting Vito rule New Bordeux, but also without killing Burke nor Cassandra, giving all of them 2 districts each. However, in order to make Vito the one who rules the city at the end, I'll give him 2 capo districts, while Burke 2 lieutenant districts (the reason to give Burke the leas valuable district, is because of his terminal desease, and because he doesn't care to rule or not the city. He only wanted to help his daughter with her financial future, before he pass away) and Cassandra one liutenant district and one capo district for her. In my head cannon, despite that Lincoln never got rid off Burke and Cassandra, having all of them alive and working together with him at end, they would die regardless. With Vito being the one ruling the city at end, Cassandra would fail with her revolution, dying in a battle zone that she caused. Burke without having the most strongest discricts in the city, he wouldn't be able to pay a transplant for his terminal cancer, dying some months later like he said to Lincoln, when he revealed to him his decease. With the deaths of Burke and Cassandra, their gangs would start to become more weak. Niki would leave the crime organization of her father, after she got married with her girlfriend, without having the Irish mob a proper leadership anymore. Emmanuel would be the one who replace Cassandra now, but because their revolution failed at the end, the cops are now looking for any black citizen related to the haitian gang. So Emmanuel and the remains of the haitian gang would return to hide back to the bayou. With the haitian gang exiled from the city, and the irish mod with no proper leadership to guide them, Vito would end up taking most of the businesss from their districts, without starting any mob war.
maguire thinks lincoln's a monster but since he knew lincolns story he still calls him a monster which is dumb since sal marcano did worse just to win but lincoln did what he couldn't takedown the mob and make the city a bette rplace
@@americangangster1911 Thank you. I assume leaving town too. Thing is, I grew up with Mafia & Mafia 2. I felt Vito needed this ending. He was honest and Cassandra well, It’s concluded of an end. Great channel.
Tbh i didnr know u could pick who could pick the town after the church part with father james i just immediately left the city and i was so surprised when i saw burke and i didnt even like burke lol
The perfect ending is leaving town and giving all district's to Vito it's time for Vito to have everything after being f*cked over many times during mafia 2
No but if you do leave town the game will reload to the previous check point like it never happened, so you can choose to stay afterwards and see both endings.
Basically nothing happens, the dlcs don't involve any of the capos but they are pretty fun and feature some new characters plus Donovan and the Pastor.
I prefer rule togather with Vito still taking control. This is not Cannon ending. You don’t go to a life of Peace when Sympathy for the devil is playing in the background.
When I left the city I always used to steal a police car and when I reached the destination I opened the siren was funny I think killing Cassandra is right Let Viro run the city and Lincoln leaves the town
This game could've been amazing. it pisses me off that it had to copy assassin's Creed and Far cry of all things. Except for the JFK Part that one was stupid lol
Nope. IMO leaving town is the worse option for Lincoln. He is just shown to be lost in life after that, trying to find his calling again. Honestly I don’t care what the priest thinks so rule together is the best option.
It's the best ending partially because Vito Scaletta gets a happy ending. Vito is the main character of Mafia 2. There's more than just Lincoln Clay to consider.
It's not Vito's and Joe's fault tho, they didn't even know the history behind it, all they were told is that they needed to kill a guy who ratted the family out, nothing else and if they haven't taken the job they would've probably been dead anyway
Man I played 2 before I played 1 Didn't understood why this random old guy got some dramatic cutscene I was shocked that this random old man was the main character in 1
