Tonight, we bring you another Mafia story as we explore the life of a young man born in Sicily but raised in America. A young man whose youth during The Great Depression would see him enter into a life of crime in order to obtain that ever elusive American dream. Honestly, you make one of the best vids on characters. Definitely top notch. When ya get a chance, you should do Aiden Pearce, Agent 47, Leon Kennedy and Chris Redfield from Resident Evil, Nathan Drake, Brucie Kibbutz, etc

The dialogue in this game is iconic. It feels so natural, and just so memorable. "This one don't like manual labour." "What da fuck." Of course all of Joe's combat lines are burned into my skull too. :)

Cool fact about this game: The ceremony where Vito becomes a Made Man is very accurate. The speech, burning the Catholic Alter Card, drawing blood from his finger, thats exactly how those ceremonies were performed. The only difference between that and in real life is that in real life, the other Families wouldn't been there, just the Family you're joining.

Actually the other Families are involved in a made man ceremony even if they don't attend because before anyone gets made their names passes by the bosses of all the families so that they can approve in case of anyone that holds grudges or have beef with the soon to be made man they can solve the issue before the proposed person becomes made

@@freezhollywood It suffers from alot of repetitive open world padding. It is still fun but could've done with less content that's more focused on uniqueness over 20 flavours of Go Here, Kill Dudes.

nah i was for sure semi looking for a comment like this. i had to have been bout 11 around that age watching that scene of those Asians cleaving dude up broad daylight in that park. shook me up a lil how quick it was in the circumstances of the story how everything was going down. shii was crazy, getting that revenge was lit tho. Xbox 360 was no joke and was elite times.

Its interesting how you can tell his story doesn't make sense. Like his backstory he tells Vito. Where he said he was Sicilian and came when Mussolini took power. Yet his accent seemed to be more American. His near perfect memorization with the bible verse. His action of letting Leo live. Along with the fact he was dealing in the dope business being the person doing the exchange during the cutscenes. It makes the fact that he was a fed more obvious with hindsight at the discrepancies of his story and actions.

@@passiveflyer2865Yea the backstory doesn't add up and notice how he gets cut off just when Vito asks him the question about his accent lol then the game just forgets about it Henry was definitely an undercover Fed of some sort. But I also think he was so deep in the game with the Mafia that part of his life became real in a way to. Reminds me of Wei from Sleeping Dogs sort of lol

59:49 So that’s how Vito’s house got burned down. I always wondered why and how quickly the Irish mob tracked down Vito to try to kill him. Makes you want to kill Eric for not only being the scumbag that he is to Frankie but also for him wanting to commit murder.

@@brothacontext She was likely an afterthought. Vito is the main guy-it’s his story. Frankie likely has just poor taste in men or is the stereotypical submissive wife. Like the wife has no spine of her own and does everything the man requests. Pretty much like a slave.

I remember playing this over and over and over again, man. It kinda sucks that definitive edition for the 2nd game was a buggy mess, but hey, at least they gave it to me for free for owning the Classic edition, and the Classic edition, last time I checked, is still for sale, lol.

Guiness thinks the same too, hence why he showed that particular ending first when discussing Vito's potential fate. He only included the other endings for the sake of being thorough.

I like how Henry is presented as a thought, trustful guy, and later, he is revealed to be a traitor, and he screams like a pathetic man when he dies. ( Don't get me wrong, his death was brutal, but so was Tommy's death, and he didn't do a fuse about it

I imagine being cut to death has to hurt worse than a KO shot that ends it all instantly so yeah I feel for Henry as Tommy likely felt anything ( like the first Mafia game where he died instaltlly not like the remake still aware of his family around him and hes all "okay') not realistic at all

This is why multiple choice games suck and ruin these games. They should have kept going with a particular ending. Like let's be honest what did having multiple endings in mafia 3 really add to it? How does that help or make it better? All it does is confuse things and it makes it so that in future games you can't really reference the previous one because you gotta keep it ambiguous. I was totally engaged with the video up until near the ending when you had to start saying "we aren't sure " about various things. Not that it's your fault obviously it's the people writing mafia 3 lol.

Totally agree with you but unfortunately most game companies do not care much about the single player story anymore. Only what they can make off multiplayer / micro transactions. I love playing games that focus solely on the storyline and nothing else. Although I'm abit worried that developers don't give a rats about that anymore.

An oven until I believe Desert Storm Vito’s sentence to the military was actually quite common for certain types of criminals. My dad was sent in to Vietnam in the late 60s due to car theft, so I mean it is entirely plausible that that would happen.

A well put together documentary, Guinness. If I may make a brief suggestion for your upcoming work on Lincoln Clay, it would be this: For my own morbid curiosity, I put my own research into Mr. Clay's criminal acts. I would like it known that information regarding the fates of the majority of Sal Marcano's "racket bosses" is rather contradictory. The only deaths of these bosses I could solidly confirm were the deaths of Merle "Trigger" Jackson and one Chester Moreau. I hope this will be of any aid in your work. * Edited for a better flow.
