I would like to see AAA video games that don't need to rely on licensed copyrighted music just for it to sell. No one buys video games on account of the soundtrack, they buy them for the storyline, graphics and quality of gameplay.

Gamer's expectations are through the roof nowadays compared to 10 years ago and if Mafia: TOC isn't at least an 8 or 9, people are just gonna write it off as bad and mediocre on social media which will affect sales substantically. And we all know that Hangar 13 isn't exactly Rockstar or Naughty Dog in terms of budget, organization and quality. And then of course we have the HUGE list of games that Mafia: TOC will have to compete with in 2025.

@@Ar1AnX1x The Dead Space remake was good, and that game sold poorly. So much so, that there aren't any plans on remaking Dead Space 2. Hell, even Mafia: Definitive Edition didn't meet sales expectations, despite the game having generally positive reception.

Personally for me it would be like this: Mafia: The Old Country (2025) Mafia IV: Takes place in either Los Angeles or Las Vegas in the 1970s or any other west coast city for all I care. Mafia V: Final game in the series and takes place in late 1970s through mid 80s in New York (The city of New York was confirmed in Mafia 3) and showcases the end of the golden age of the Cosa Nostra's reign of terror in America.

I'm a MASSIVE Mafia fan, but I am also super concerned about Mafia: TOC. Not because of the quality, I know the game is going to be top notch. I am more concerned about the expectations people have. Not only do they think this will be Mafia IV, but they will likely compare it to stuff like RDR2 and GTA VI. All the while I think this will be a smaller project in terms of budget. And one can hear the suits speaking in the Take-two call. All they care about is money. So if the uneducated GTA Online/Warzone/Fortnite GenZ fanboys crap all over Mafia TOC, we may never see the actual Mafia IV.

Same. People always compare to Rockstar. Literally no one is Rockstar. They are top studio with the best leaders and financing. Mafia was always better than GTA for me, because it was not perfect in details, animation... But the games had beautiful stories, rich lore, driving mechanics, setting... GTAs are just stupidly absurd. RDRII was the perfect spot. But this is smaller budget game. But even with that the "czech golden hands" will do magic!

Mafia games are way more realistic than GTA. As good as GTA is, no one can take that away. If they went in the direction GTA 4 was going, things would definitely be better.

I think it depends if they can release it before GTA 6. As others already stated enough: The franchise will never be another GTA as good as it is. But it's been long enough since a good Saints Row and GTA title that it will be a good appetizer while people wait for GTA.

Maybe I’m gonna get hate but listen I’m glad 70s Las Vegas mafia 4 didn’t happen because I don’t trust Haden as president he would bring the repetitive missions structure to mafia 4 like he did when he manage mafia 3 and trust me those dlc didn’t help at all ok they are good but it pushed the mafia title aside completely! Nick baynes in charge I think is more safe but only time will tell with the test and that is the old country game and if it is good and bring in some good amount of money then Vegas can happen and be more worth it

I didnt know the next one will be a direct sequel to Old Country. Frank Vinci, Leo Galante, Ennio Salieri, and Frank all came over in 1908. The Old Country might tell us why, then the next one, The New World, could show their rise during WW1, Prohibition, and ending with the Moretti War in 1933 leading to the formation of the Commission. Best part is, by the time the fifth game comes out, much of the music from the 1920s will be public domain

Hey man. Great video but I doubt the cost of music licenses would ever be the reason that Take 2 Interactive decides not to make a game. They could hire musicians to replicate those sounds for relatively cheap. It probably has more to do with GTA 6 coming soon and not planning to have 2 relatively similar games cannibalize each others sales.

The 4th game in the mafia series is not the 4th game in the timeline but it is the 4th game after the 3rd game because as we all know the next number after 3 is the number 4. So 4 example (see what i did there) the number 4 comes after 1 2 3 and so 4th pun intended So the new 4th mafia is a prequel which mean its B4 the first game and in case you haven't notest ive said the number 4 a solid ten times right now in this ramble of crap. Fun to know reference ''this thing of ours" sopranos reference and the "Costra Nostra" as you mentioned aswell, too was said in the end of the Sopranos video Game final after being Made. Funny the Soprano game sucked, this could be an ode to a figurative improvement without being direct Sopranos. A revamp of that game with no more than GTA-4 graphics would be INSANE

it would we dope if we get Vito's father or grandfather as the protagonist in this game I think Grandfather would be more realistic. Because Vito was born in 1920s and his prime was 1940-50s. Father must have born probably in 1900s and his prime would have been 1920-30s. Grandfather would be more possible, probably born in 1880s and his prime would be 1900s-10s, just matching the new game's setting

Actually was disappointed about mafia old county I mean I get it’s neat in its own way but to old, games don’t have that optimism anymore. Was wanting something like 70s Las Vegas. More fun fashion, more upbeat music, Stretch limousines, flashy talk shows and radio host, private planes with brass interiors everywhere, Glitzy lights and signs, Maybe even a shopping mall and neighborhoods with golf courses.! A game like that would be one of if not the best mafia game to remember and flocking to purchase.

Mafia 4 should honestly take place with multiple stories in multiple locations like Las Vegas, Los Angeles, New York, Miami, Texas, Atlanta and Detroit and also take place between the mid 70s through early 80s

Genuine question: why does it seems that you're ignoring the existance of the first mafia game in the early 2000s in the first minute? The Old Country is actually the 7th game if you account the OG game
