This was my first mechanical keyboard and was definitely my gateway into that hobby. I now own more than 5 and gradually expand my knowledge and apprecitation with each one. But it all began with this Magegee MK-Box.
I bought the RGB keyboard with hot swappable switches and the H key stopped working consistently so I just replaced all the switches with cherry mx blue switches. Also, I replaced the keycaps with shine through ptb caps and love this keyboard now. The only thing that sucks is I can't get steady blue light. Magegee makes the oem switches. This keyboard is awesome and I love it.
I just got this keyboard, it's just awesome for the price. Probably best keyboard I ever had and I bought quite a few, almost all, more expensive than this one. The feel of it, is just perfect. And I like the compact size. The only thing... it's got a scrl-lock, but there is no End key. They could've omitted the Scrllock and move that column up one place to fit an End key next to Home. Other than this, awesome!!
Bought this one and it only lasted a few months afterwards they keys no longer work consistently. I left it leaving dust for a while until i learned how to solder. I resoldered the defective keys and cleaned the switches inside. Bent the copper plates to make it trigger easier. Now its working again. This is a great cheap keyboard to start a hobby. I learned a lot about mechanical keyboard because i was not afraid to brick it due to its low price. Its just sad that it was faulty at first
❤Bro, your videos are amazing i love them i hope you go viral because you deserve way more subs and views ❤i subbed to help you keep the amazing work 👏 🎊
Thanks so much! Glad you enjoyed the video. I'll probably end up investing in more budget keyboards in the near future and when that happens I'll be sure to share them.
6:50 Where did you find the details about which Fn key combos work? My "manual" didn't list any of those combinations and there's seemingly no additional documentation I can find on the internet.
@@MoonRiderTechoh my GOD I just checked again and found the listing instantly. Thank you lol. I was trying to be smarter than the average customer or something and missed the forest for the trees.
No judgement. Only reason I know is I try to read every bit of info on the product for videos and a lot of it is so easy to overlook. Or they might have one thing mentioned on their actual website but not the Amazon listing or vice versa.
There are so many mixed reviews about this keyboard. Is there any kind of ghosting issues or lagging/jittering even after months? Please help me, i am about to buy this keyboard.
None that I’ve experienced personally. But this is a $25 keyboard so I suppose it’s a risk you run with any budget offering. Can’t deny other people have had some issues but I’ve heard people have keyboard issues on ones far more expensive. I justified the risk by the lower price. Figured it it went out in 6 months or a year would I be okay with having paid $25 for that? So far it’s been worth it.
Yup works on laptop and should be good for gaming. I only don’t use mine because it has clicky switches, but MageGee has other switch types to choose from for this keyboard.
Win+Shift+S opens up the snipping tool. I had to go into Snip & Sketch settings and change Save Snips to ON otherwise they weren’t popping up in the screenshot folder.
I can’t recall sorry. I have so many usb to usb-c cables I get them all mixed up. I’m pretty sure it was decently long though. And you can always use another cable to connect it if you need more length.
