Hey! I was going round looking to see how this keyboard performed, and I found your video, I just wanted to ask, would this keyboard be a direct upgrade from a membrane? I got the keyboard and now just have to wait for it to arrive, the reviews looked class and the sounds and LEDs on the keyboard looked incredible for the price.
@@ShearerVR Hi, in your case maybe you will enjoy more clicky keyboard then what this one offers once modded. This is probably an upgrade from a membrane, unless you invested in some 150+eur membrane keyboard or you mean something like Logitech mx series which are membrane - these are just different tools for achieving different goals
@@ShearerVR ping is removed by lubing the springs inside the switches, for the dampening you fill the empty space in the case with absorbant material like foam or something denser with similar properties
Hey man! Ik it’s kinda late but I have this keyboard and I wanna put in Akko v3 creamy yellows into it. Would it fit if I cut of the 2 plastic pins to convert it into 3 pin?
@@ProArt18 hi there is no one else who modded the keyboard like you and almost all don’t reply to questions so that’s why I’m asking you before spending money
@@Icarryuzr As far as I can see online, 5pin switches are just 3pin with these 2 additional plastic legs, so that should work, I just can't try them on as I don't have any. In case you feel risky, maybe look up for some lubed gateron milky yellows?
@@ProArt18 a Reddit post said that gateron don’t fit so I will probably just go for akkos the only thing I’m scared about if the board is outemu or not
there are 2 diff types of the akko cream blues v3, one is a 5 pin and one is 3 pin, you must buy the 3 pin version. The 5 pin switches won't fit into the pcb. Hope this helps!@@etaigabbai
hi modding this keybaord the star61 and i cant re screw in the bottom screws for the plate and the pcb i dont know why but they dont have the standoffs to screw them in, its ruining my hwole build did you encounter a problem like this?
It might happen that your standoffs are still covered by tape or foam that you've put on it, or perhaps there is not enough space after modding to close the keyboard, check for these two possibilities ;)
@@ProArt18 thank you for the response, i have checked i made sure to cut out holes for the tape for the 3 bottom standoffs they appear to be shorter than the standoffs that are screwable and im pretty sure that the keyboard is able to be closed because they usb c shows through the hole that its supposed to be in. i am unsure what to do
im able to screw in the plate propperly when i have no stabilizers on the board but im not able to put the stabilizers back on once they are screwed in that way
@@t1n045 In case your stabs are interfering with assembly, maybe the stabilizers are upside down, hard to remember by now what could specifically go wrong
@@ProArt18 yeah its definetly something to do with the spacebar stabilizer whenever it is on it lifts up the whole bottom part of the plate do you have any idea of a fix?
how i can use it , i plug it in it starts to light but now keys its working , do i need to install an software or unclock it from some combination of keys? I have windows 11 and its magegee mk star
Ciao Bianca! It should work straight away, yet I found that it doesn't work with usb-c to usb-c cables. It only worked with usb-c to usb-a (standard big one) for me.
@@leeaustinroiebernal878 If your switches are compatible with the board then yes, unless Temu modified something meantime and made these keyboards with soldiered switches. My sample is hot swappable and few folks on RU-vid confirmed the same
Hi! I used a silicon oil made for sewing machines, similar to superlube pen oil. Best if you can find something thicker and still neutral, krytox remains. agood but expensive option
@@ProArt18 I think the krytox being meta is not because its the only options but because it allows the community to have consistent results with sound and feel tests by using the same lube
i got the same one on temu for three dollars too but when i ordered it i went back to look at the specifications and i saw that the price was around 40 dollars too@@ProArt18
