Nice ride. Thanks for sharing. One thing you mentioned - riding on the right side of the road. Here in the States that is the norm, and I would constantly be concerned if I failed to be on the left when necessary. Perhaps it would be easier to adapt than I realize, but .....

Good stuff ! Not done Europe yet, that's the plan for my 60th, ship the bike from Aus and spend 6-8 months in Europe and the UK. But that's still 3 years away. Keep the good stuff coming, cheers.

Mark Holroyd Hi Mark, at first glance it looks like a good idea but looking at long term hire costs, not so much. For the time I am looking at it would 10k plus and that's pounds not Aus dollars. Aus dollars would be around 15k. I could however buy a bike in the uk and then sell when I'm done. I have a contact in the uk bike trade via a friend that may be able to help with that. Lots of possibilities but got to get the money together first 😩. Who knows what could happen, it's a few years away yet. But thank you for the idea. Cheers

The sat nav should show, both allow speed and actual speed.

You always get a plus-minus 7km/h speed reduction. If you get a ticket for just 1km/h. In reality you were riding 8 km/h to fast.

Exactly, learn a few words, so they know you also also trying. I live in france for one year, always started with saying, I don not speak French, ( in French). Could you help me with?????.. Always meet nice and helpful people.

I hope you have gone to the National Park of Gerês (besides being big there are many good roads and it is beautiful, including a tropical and natural forest!), And the train station of Sao Bento in Oporto, Portugal. On the other hand, it is advisable to flee Lisbon, the air is carcinogenic (much corruption). The beer to drink is of this brand: SUPER BOCK!

+Sérgio André we did have some super bock whilst there. Hehheh. We went through the national park too. So flat with some lovely roads and awesome scenery too. Amazing country :)

Nice video and a lot of useful info thank you :) We are doing that crossing next year and going down to the south of Spain, and advice on touring clothes ?? So for I'm looking at the dianese dry range because it fits my back protecter from my leathers . But I'm open to suggestions 😊👍🏻

RiderCamTV Just to add to that do you recommend waterproofs if wearing textile kit and not leathers....???

Hey man. I would wear waterproofs if I am travelling for a long distance and know the weather is going to be really really bad, other than that I just go with the textile. Although it does depends on the textiles waterproofness (if that’s a word). The Richa is very good as is the rukka and klim, although the BMW rallye suit I had (although a great piece of clothing) provided a waterproof inside layer which meant the textile wasn’t waterproof and got saturated which added to its weight so for that suit i always had waterproofs handy. But for all the rest I just go with the textile. Hop this helps. Ride safe ;)

Do you use the Ghost on your helmet if so what microphone- Lavalier?

+Ian Lyons yeah I use a ghost drift hd and the drift mic running into my helmet :)

RiderCamTV I think that's the plus of the Ghost compared to the GP Session 5, the mic adapter makes it no longer waterproof which is silly, I just did the 2017 BMW Motorrad Days and filmed it all, putting it together to post soon but the mic caused me issues, great video by the way well done!

+Ian Lyons yeah it's a pain, I've had some problems too especially in bad rain but the drift and the mic seem to work pretty well. Thanks for taking words :)
