How important is realism in Magfed? One of, if not the main reason why airsoft is so popular is how realistic the airsoft guns, equipment and gameplay can be. Magfed paintball has the capability to be as realistic or even more realistic when using First Strike Rounds. Should the Magfed Community continue pushing realism in it's gameplay?

I personally love the realism aspect. I personally consider myself to be more of a milsim player/scenario player I feel that those two areas of player types is on the decline. partly because I feel like COVID wiped the majority out for one reason or another, and then the newcomers don't have that as a diverse of a crowd to really talk to or to really see what the different types/cultures that exists in paintball. After all you have SO many different types/cultures in paintball. There's: Speedball, pump play, scenerio players, milsim players, rec ball (walkons only crowd), magfed, X or Y paintball company for life players, there actual teams from fields to paintball company teams, the list is so diverse and I know theres at least a few I missed. I mean pump players are all but extinct, the guys who used to run around with that croosbowesk style marker no longer are seen, they're like a unicorn sighting. Not to mention you can't really get those kinda markers anymore, with the exception of the pump from someone like MCS. Plus the other issue paintball in general suffers from is the fact that a lot of people think/ have heard that it'll hurt and that was from someone who either has never played themselves or from someone who played once or twice and decided it wasn't for them. They don't hear it from players like me because there are so few and far between now a days. Then when you do get someone who is interested, they find that it's really expensive and decide that it's not for them because of the fact it's so expensive. I feel it can be argued that fully decked out players and the jeans and t-shirt are perfectly acceptable because if you look at the Vietnam, Iraq, and the Afghanistan wars, as well as the current conflict in Syria or even the conflicts going on in places across Africa, not every hostile we engaged was in a uniform. With that said I think it'd be awesome to get some people out to a game who aren't necessarily players. all they are a "civilian" or non-combatant element that you either loose points or get some sorta sanction/ penalty for shooting either on purpose or accident. My gear is loosely based on US Marine Raiders in Afghanistan. I love scenario games; I just wish there was better and more diverse fields in my area for scenario games cause currently there's really only one that's really good for scenario games. Plus, there aren't really enough magfed players who show up to those events to really justify a big mag fed/ milsim only kinda game play. I personally would love to see more of a milsim crowd. So while you can have all these mags fed players running around there can also be that hopper fed player who's running like a machine gun set up on his hopper fed. I know I have a bunch of TMCs for scenerio games and when ever a group of magfed show up to walk ons, but otherwise I'm running my etha 2 with the rail kit 90% of the time and on occasion I'll pull out my 98 or one of my A5s. my Etha 2 I run it like a Machine gun though. I also have noticed that there are fields out there that are just struggling to get by. and that partly due to the recline in the number of players, but also you don't get those players who REALLY support the field and pitch in a hand every now and then. As far as pistols go I would love to see the M1911 thats the one pistol I want for paintball. I currently have the TiPX (.68 FS), the T4E Smith & Wesson MP (.43), and a T4E H&K VP9 (.43). from my experience I am actually pretty accurate with the .43 markers BUT the paint isn't so good. usually my shots bounce and don't break. My apologies this turned into a bit of a rant. I personally love paintball and have been a player since 2005.
