If this ending doesn’t move you, you’re not human. How inspiring and how beautiful this whole interview was, especially the last 2 minutes! Worth every minute.
You're absolutely correct. This is my first time I'm actually seeing this video so I didn't know what was going to happen at the end but you're absolutely correct I cried my eyes out. And just like magic said so true God is good.
Funny how Isiah has a nice smile, mild manners and soft spoken but the guy was a lion on the court. Heart of a lion.. He played like Rodman on the offense and defense and had a small stature. But i was surprised how animalistic this little guy was around Giants.
You know what? I'm glad I learned something from him. I.E: making an opponent think you are a gentleman, but only to shock him with your competitiveness. You can't go wrong with that imo.
@@hennessyapplejuice8331 Jordan is my Hero, the best of the best, but it is what is missing with him... heart. Jordan is still talking about the games, he is still on anger, Man i love you but it was 30 years ago, sit with your community and you will be almost the perfect hero. i wish i could see him taking some risks about his image, that won't hurt what it ha been done.
I love how Magic immediately said “I can change” when Isiah said something about him having a tie on. He then took his vest and tie off to make Isiah comfortable. Such a humble spirit. He wasn’t trying to outshine Isiah.
As a man I’m not ashamed to say I cried all the way through (and I’m not a big cryer)the love, the respect, the story of two friends in a journey.these men had a fallout over a miss understanding and to see them hug and cry together was the most masculine/beautiful thing I ever seen.thank you brothas for showing this.
Never be ashamed to show emotion particularly as a man. That’s a false construct that a man should never show emotion. As men, our vulnerability allows us to connect more with others in a Godly way. Be well brother!
Same! Seeing two brothers come back to loving each other is the way life should be. It’s sad when two ppl who loved each other get beef and then stop talking. I know families who do this, it’s sad, life is too short
Sean Felder yeah I don’t think kids will ever understand how big Magic was. The Lakers were in the finals practically every year and if they weren’t, it just wasn’t the same.
bhec7715 yeah he was the Lebron before Lebron. Always in the finals and always on top of the nba from a young age. He changed the game and brought the lakers back to the top
I had bad blood with two in my life who did me wrong but when I got diagnosed with a brain tumor, I reached out to them to bury the hatchet because I don't want to go to my grave with bad blood with anyone. Let it go, please. Don't take it with with you. We're all on the clock and none of know how much longer we have.
He really doesn’t but believe me when I say that Zeke is that glue 4REAL God forbid 😢if Zeke close his eyes 👀 first hearts dropping like bricks 🧱 TRUST!!!
I can never watch this enough. Just look at all the pain that instantly was released when Isaiah heard the words “I’m sorry” come from Magic’s mouth. He had been carrying that pain so long. All he needed was a heartfelt apology and you can literally see him release the pain cause he knew Magic meant it. Now if we can just Isaiah and MJ into the chairs. It I know they’ll be serving snow cones in hell before MJ agree to do this. That man holds a grudge like no other. LMAO!
Isiah and Jordan were never close friends though. I don't think they were friends, period. They were just cordial with each other until the Bulls started dethroning the Pistons and the beef started. So that reconciliation is never going to happen. Barkley-Jordan at least has a shot.
More than teaching the Bulls how to win, they gave them a more valluable lesson: you don´t have to win at all costs, and playing dirty doesn´t guarantee you championship rings. The 1990´s Bulls were more of a crossover between Bird´s intensive and will to win Celtics and Magic´s Showtime Lakers. Had MJ played those two years he missed playing Baseball and two additional years when everyone thought he had retired, we might be talking about nine or ten rings instead of six, hence this tictocker generation wouldn´t have a single argument on who´s the GOAT.
@@luisrodriguez-mb7cc just stop lol. They changed the rules for Jordan to win. The Pistons didn't play dirty, they played basketball just like the Lakers Celtics and 76ers. There's a reason Jordan couldn't win in the 80s, the toughest era of basketball. Jordan is the most overrated player ever, and all of his rings were manufactured by the league
@@NewWorldDreams47 Another guy with serious mental problems. Listen dweeb and I'm going to say once, I hope after taking your medications you're able to understand: 1. No team won any titles during the 80's without at least two superstars in their prime side by side, the Lakers and the Celtics had three, the Pistons and the Sixers had two, Jordan was by himself, when Pippen came into the league he hadn't reached his full potential . 2. The fact Thomas was excluded from the 1992 dream team pretty much tells the story on how dirty his Pistons played, and it wasn' t just Jordan who wanted nothing to do with him: Malone, Pippen, Bird, none of these were willing to share playing time on the basketball court with him. 3. LBJ has never been able to win a title without at least a second superstar along his side. It' s not an opinion, check it out jerkoff. 4. Jordan won an MVP, best defensive player, highest scorer and dunk contest winner during 1988 with a crappy team except for Pippen playing with him. 5. No other player has been able to dominate a decade by himself like Jordan did during the 1990's except Bill Russell during the 1960's , and even he didn' t have the individual stats Jordan had. 6. Maybe you were swimming in your daddy's balls when Bird didn't want to shake hands with Thomas after an incident with Lambeer during 1986, and probably don't know that Malone elbowed Thomas on his face cutting him open causing him 25 stitches in a regular season game between Detroit and Utah. Why do you suppose he did that? Because Thomas and his teammates were choir buys? So before you start talking trash like Bird and Peyton did back in the day, at least stop taking drugs and get your facts straight.
@@NewWorldDreams47Jordan couldn't win in the 80s because Charles Oakley was his best teammate against loaded dynasties dude. He dropped 49 and 63 in back to back playoff games against a team with 4 hall of famers (Boston) and they STILL got swept. People like you don't know shit about basketball and just need to shut your mouth if you're gonna be that uneducated about the sport.
At the time… the pistons fan spit on MJs wife . Bulls / pistons HATED each other .. I hated Isaiah! But… he deserved that apology . He is a good man … and we were just caught up in the game .
@Kendra Brown cant say nothing against it. Often times we get too caught up in our heads and value our accomplishments more than our brother's life, especially in music and sports. But then when its all done, we realize that it meant little to nothing and our friendship is all that truly matters.
The laughter of Magic and Isiah is one of the sweetest sounds and their reconciliation one of the sweetest sights! A merry heart is like good medicine! (Proverbs 17:22)
That message was very POWERFUL ! If you can open your mind and related ! You will learn a lot . Magic said it best when he said. It was something we had to go thru. Lot of wasted years but in the end true friendship will always find a way to work !
Love this. Now imagine if Jordan and Pippen sat across from Isiah and Bill Laimbeer and just, talked. THAT would be great. I think enough time has passed..
The thing about this is it brings people who were friends and then fell out. Jordan and Zeke ain’t never been friends. You just got people who don’t like each other
This was truly touching to see Earvin and Isiah share memories and to forgive each other after all those years. They should do Jalen Rose and Chris Webber interview each other and can the beef between the two of them. I bet they could share some good childhood stories growing up in Detroit, playing AAU and college ball together. And I'd like to hear them tell about their NBA careers.
this is what a real friendship should be. i tear up every time I watch this. if some people only had the integrity to simply say, "I'm sorry..." or, had the courage to put their pride aside and say, "it was my fault"---relationships between father and son, mother and daughter and between friends can begin to mend and rebuild. and in the case with magic and Isaiah.....remain in tact. I have so much respect for magic and Isaiah for being bigger than their pride and bigger than the mistakes they made when they were young. salute.
The hardest words to say in today's society: I'm sorry. Pride, macho, machismo, all those obstacles, tend to keep mankind in perpetual wars and petty skirmishes. For some folks, being wrong is all the more reason for them to lie.
Tears of joy and apologizing to your friend or love ones is really a different kind of feeling. Always be humble and don’t waste the time you have on this earth. We learn from our mistakes and other people’s mistakes. Peace!!!
This was a legendary interview. My favourite. These were special players but also special characters as people. The Ending was deep, and is a true example for humanity to follow at the highest levels - to understand, to forgive, to rebuild stronger bridges and to have love for each other, coz in the end we are all brothers and sisters that’s the sum of it.
I’m in the U.K. and I only discovered Isiah Thomas today. Obviously not into basketball. I watched the Mary Thomas movie about Isiah’s dear mum and family. This interview was a great watch and it got me crying at the end. I think Isiah has a very sensitive and beautiful soul.
I never knew this interview even existed and I’m a HUGE basketball fan and I’m wondering what the hell was I doing to have missed this?!?! I’m only watching this because Just watched Isaiah’s interview on The Pivot podcast and this interview was mentioned and I didn’t waste a single second after watching that interview that I see THIS one because they had the greatest friendship the NB (or any sport that I could think of) have ever seen and I am so happy that they could sit in front of each other and patch things up the way only TRUE FRIENDS can. Yeah Isaiah, I cried with you brother because I felt that. This was really good.
You can feel the tone in their voices when Magic starts apologising....they are good friends, they have been apart because of gossips and people...glad they reconciled
What a beautiful moment between two men.... forgiveness, healing and leading with love can really change things. I'm glad God prevailed and allowed them to say what needed to be said while they both are alive and well! God Bless Them Both We Need More of This🫶🏾
They genuinely love each other. That's not anger its hurt. They betrayed each other media and the league forced that animosity same with Kobe and Shaq. Its sad they missed alot of good years together!
They were not mad at each other, that got swept under the rug when magic saw that isiah didnt distance himself with magic(having HIV), because almost all of magic's "friends" did. Karl malone wanted to be subbed out when magic was on the floor on that all star game lol
One of those rare times when it starts out as a job then moves into just 2 old friends catching up and reminisce about the past. Over 20 years and it's like they've never missed a beat. Glad these 2 finally got back together.
Definitely teared up at the end. Really hate that they missed out on time of their friendship, but even then, you can tell their relationship will forever be strong. So glad this was made public to share with the world..
Out of all the other Players Only interviews I watched, this one had the most joy felt from the players. You could definitely feel Magic and Zeke have a really great friendship despite the on-court battles.
The key to solving all World issues is love let's start from Friendship family dictators presidents countries if we all show love we all can work together and we'll have peace
My two favorite players...period!!! The greatest interview of all time...I could hear these two guys talk forever reliving those moments...things we didnt know...absolutely the best...thank you!!!!
God, what an example, sport is great in the emotions and friendships we can develop through it, but also in the rivalries we can have. Adversity is part of life, so is family. "Players only baby!"
Just amazing!!! and what similar story arcs of their lives. That statement Isiah made about what the Jacksons tried to tell them... 'They're going to try to separate you all' that speaks volumes of what success can do to even best of friends.
I had the same emotional episode with my befriend that i thought I lost due to a miss understanding. We spoke it out and cry it out. I miss my brother, but i push to go and see him.
To go through life with a lifelong friend who've you been through so much together, so much history, so much love, to come together again, apologize, it's like you were never separated.
Magic was all Zeke had.... Everybody from that era hated him and still does, it didn't matter long as he knew he had the love and adoration if the best point guard to ever live, once that was gone, it took a piece of basketball with him which is huge, me having lived thru the whole thing, I'm so glad they got redemption..I hope I can have that with people I hurt at some point in my life
I love these guys that is what you call brotherhood it's more than just friendship. this is a natural strong bond I wish we as people can learn from these two phenomenal legends for real people and I too was in tears man God bless you guys
