i am from Lakki Marwat and my father (Salah Ud Din Muhtaj) is a famous poet of 1980 to 2010 in Lakki Marwat and Marwat Famous Singar Damsaz Marwat sings so many songs of my Father.

Blending Pashto & English was the best way to make it international and tell the world about real pashtun culture.

This is the kind of positivity we don't see in news of Pakistan (it's always negative). Ever since I heard of the hospitality of the Pashtuns a few years ago, I have always wanted to visit, hopefully one day I would be able to. Love from Malaysia. 😁

In addition to KPK, this tradition of applying black coal on the face also exists in Punjab. Growing up in a village there, during summers, we used to smear black ash from beneath the griddle (tavi) onto one person, whom we referred to as "kala dhoda." Together, we would visit every household, singing a rain prayer song. In return, they would offer money or grains, which we would share equally among us. However, the person with the black ash on his face would receive double the share. Reflecting on this scene fills me with nostalgia, reminding me of cherished memories. It's a poignant reminder of how this song symbolizes the close bonds between our cultures, despite the perceived differences.

Being pakhtoon i feel so proud to see our culture and traditions being displayed in such an incredible way. That applying of coal on faces, qehwa, pakol, attan and what not guys. Immensely grateful for this incredible piece of art. And that swabiwal shawl man 🔥 ❤❤
