In the XIX century spiritualism was on the rise. Magicians did a lot to expose and debunk fraudulent mediums but ironically, spiritualists always claimed that magicians possessed supernatural powers. In this video I share some stories about John Nevil Maskelyne, David Devant, Harry Houdini and Arthur Conan Doyle.
These stories also bring up an important question: why can magic seem so real?
Have you spectators ever thought that you are a real magician? Share you story in the comments!

Really intereresting, this second part of these spiritualists histories. It is funny how after the situation with Houdini and sr Arthur Conan Doyle, where Harry was showing him the reality about how fake this was and sr Conan Doyle refused to believe. And although they tried to put this incident behind them their friendship never recovered from the rift. Keep it up Alex 🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼

Thanks Marco! Yes, quite absurd and funny. There is actually a book about Doyle and Houdini (which I have not read yet), it is called "Houdini and Conan Doyle" by Christopher Sandford, and it deals with this story in more detail.

Interresting but how did Houdini do it ? I know magicians protect their secrets but certainly there is a prescription for this specific trick ^^

Harry Houdini? Arthur Conan Doyle? Alfred Wallace? History is so interconnected.

Today is the day Houdini married Wilhelmina Rahner, who was his assistant in the early days of their marriage.
