Sounds great. I love the ARC Ref 6 combined with solid state amps. I'm running a Ref6SE with a Gryphon Mephisto stereo. The transparency and resolution of the S5's really stand out.

Thank You 🙏 Yes Ref 6 is a great pre-amp. What it is bringing to this recording is evident in a big way. Whilst this is an obvious statement; I have listened to many Magico S5 systems…and they all sound different (for better or for worse) depending on the upstream component. The ref 6 does have a big say here…this not just about the S5s

Very encouraging - I am pondering Pass Labs 260.8 monoblocks which do 34 watts in class A so probably reasonable approximation of the x160.8 at this relatively low sound level but with a bit more power at AB and 260 watts. Very encouraging sound for the S5 mk2 - which given how much the S7 is kinda puts those out of reach.

Like it ❤. What is the best sounding pass labs mono block ? I guess older models are not super detailed and airy. Which one is your favorite ?

The bottom end seems bloated which is unusual for Magico speakers. They should be very nicely articulate with great timing. Is this your second room Murli? The bass should be snapped and speedy decay.

I fully agree with the first-hand experience shared. Personally, I don't think Passlab is suitable for Magico based on my own experience. Another person here in Perth also replaced Passlab with a Magico matching Pikium for his S5 mk2, and it significantly improved the performance of his speakers. Despite his room being poorly acoustically treated, he was able to bring out the true potential of his S5 mk2.

@@ChanhPhotography I’ve personally heard the S3 and A5 sound really good with the Pass Labs INT250 cause it had the power to drive them. The bloat this guy was talking about is cause by RU-vid compression trying to deal with those awesome speakers going down to 20hrtz.
