Lately, whenever I get drowsy driving long expanses of highway, I’ve been turning on “Wings Over America,” particularly the back-to-back combo of “You Gave Me the Answer” and “Magneto and Titanium Man.” These are wonderful songs with lots of rhythm, playfulness, and chorus. They perk my spirits up immediately. And these are minor Wings songs…that’s how fantastic this band was!!!
@@bruceslater7169 For sure! You'll find way better versions of all his songs live compared to their album/studio counterpart. Paul is a perfectionist which give the album versions a clean sound but his passion for performing live just makes him take his songs up several notches. The much more raw and edgier live versions are way better.
Great speech by even greater Denny Lane. What a "rocker" indeed. Amazing how well even Denny plays the bass. And Paul's groovy piano is something else.
Without argument the greatest rock and roll composer and (arguably) the greatest singer ever. I oughta know. I've had the argument many times. If you consider the full range of his vocals; from sweet as sweet can be (Let It Be, Yestereday, etc) to raunch (Oh Darling and the primal scream at the end of Back Seat Of My Car) to everything in between, I can't think of anyone I could consider his equal.
This song is about Sir Maxwell Knight showing up in the middle of the night to tell billy how theyd killed James Paul Mccartney. Change my mind. Bang bang went maxwells silver hammer right in the middle of the road.
