I mean I guess they're playing with the stereotype that foundry workers would be "strong", though I worked a decade in a foundry and there weren't any buff guys. @@sarin.19 Apocalypse kills innocent people and destroys what they’ve built. Magneto caused an apocalypse of his own by manipulating Earth’s magnetic field. These other mutants also kill innocent people and support those who do. They’re all incredibly conceited toward themselves and mutant-kind.

@@LukeLovesRose ​Magneto is supposed to be this sympathetic antihero, but he’s just a straight-up evil, murderous mutant supremacist who destroys almost all of civilization, yet for some reason, Professor X still sees him as a friend after all that and lets him go scot-free. One of the Horsemen is supposed to be Storm, that awesome and heroic mutant from the original series, but she’s just a selfish opportunist in this movie who has a change of heart for no apparent reason and then somehow immediately gets to join the X-Men after being complicit in Apocalypse’s genocide. Similar story with Angel, who was a really sympathetic character in but got turned into a weak, complicit loser in this movie.

The more I watch this movie, I catch things that kind of hint that his wife may have been a mutant, though if it is ever stated, or any powers are shown, I haven't caught on to it. I'm pretty sure his parents weren't mutants, though. His grandparents, etc. probably weren't either. In the first three movies, it's explicitly clear that Magneto hates non-mutant Jews as much as non-mutant Gentiles. In the movies with Michael Fassbender, it seems more ambiguous. At times, it comes across like he does have a Jewish group loyalty (whether they're mutant or not), and then he turns around and talks like he's against all non-mutant humans. It's confusing to me.

I agree. It felt redundant within the universe and brought not much novelty when compared to the other two. Also, I love Oscar Isaac but this was not the role for him. I could not take him seriousls (as serious as one can take a comick book film villain).

I disagree with you guys. Apocalypse was trying to increase Magnetos powers as well as his pain and hatred for the humans. Look at that death camp scene again
