Am I the only one who thinks the actress playing Halime is amazing? :) I mean, I know her character can be a bit bad and sneaky, but she's also a woman in a difficult time who loves her son very fiercely. The speech she made about a worm (arrogance and vengeance) growing inside her, and that she would perish with her enemies, gave me chills. I can't help but feel for the women of this time, even if they can be horrible to each other.
I would have liked her character but can not because she is despicable. On one hand she is protecting her son but also too ambitious and power greedy on the other hand. She will make a ruthless queen mother if she has her way.
I find him quite arrogant - even against the woman/girl he claims to love. It isn't love in any case, but want/desire - and nothing is supposed to stand in the way of this, in his own thought anyway!

I wish he'd taken her seriously sooner and offered to let her see her family or at least have a letter sent or something. I suppose though like the other girls in the harem, women aren't supposed to know their families anymore. I'm hoping he agrees to send a letter at some stage.

I fell in love with Sultan Ahmed, I'm carried away, it's bec the way he acts... He acts like a true King... His acting is excellent.. That's why I love to watch this up to the end.. I also watched "Make Me Believe" on Netflix cuz of Ekin Koc

I think partially this kind of lifestyle/environment (where a man has many wives at once and where none of them are given the honour of the man’s loyalty) creates a situation where the mother of the man will always be given more honour and loyalty in his life than any of his wives, and I think sometimes that can encourage a mother to exert jealousy and control over her son, and even cause her to be resentful of a woman that she perceives her son to have deep feelings for. We see how in this ancient culture a mother even knew the moment her son lost his virginity, and was even the one who selected the woman for him. It’s extremely controlling and doesn’t allow a man to fully mature as a man of his own to make his own decisions, and the mother will forever think she has control over him. Just my opinion 😎
But yes, it’s nice to see Ahmed rise up and stand up for Anastasia against his mother and let her know that he is an adult and that he cares about this girl and will not allow his mother to interfere. Some men would not do this

@@Creation_Mode episode 16? So far I could find only 8 epeisodes here on RU-vid, by "Magnificent Century" channel. Don't know, if there are any more than that. These are rather long episodes, though. So maybe, this channel squeezed 16 episodes into only 8? No idea so far.

Uggg does anyone else get mad as heck seeing Hürrem's ring on ANYONE else's finger? That really rubbed me the wrong way in the 1 series. She was to be buried in it. No other woman carried that ring like Hürrem.......just saying ☺
Why is this so similar to magnificent century hurrem edition ? let me explain Fahria sultan and hatice sultan had the exact same love life. If you know hatice sultans story you will understand. Hurrem and kosem had the same kind of beginning. Both the sultans fell in love with them , they became favorites, there enemy beaten them up and the list goes on.
Safiya sultan actor is so gorgeous so royal.....well suited in her role. As for the character, she lived such a lavish life. Saw 7 reigns. Had immense wealth. A queens life. Wow
@user-fr1gb4yy3b and after Ahmad, his brother mustafa and then Ahmad's son Osman II. She eventually died during osman's reign. 1609 or something. That makes seven sultans. It wasn't that she lived abnormally long life....but because some of the reigns were abnormally short.

Fahriye, shahin giray,derves pasha,Handan, Ahmed, safiye sultan, zulfiqar, humasah, Osman, cennet hatun. Most powerful sultana to defeat all enemies. Kosem succeed her bcz she was her daughter in law from next generation. In the same way turhan succeeded kosem.
Anastasia Tsilimpiou did really well and it's no need to replace her, the writing in the first sixth episode goes well too, after episode 7 everything was ruined. Even they're waste Mahfiruz character and then Meleki too

I really miss the fierce suleiman everytime when I see the little sultan Ahmed. He's no match for sultan suleiman. Just watching this series only for safiye sultan.
Well with only difference Ibrahim is a hateful greed villain he never loved Hatice Sultan and he made Hatice Sultan sad and betrayed multiple times. Ibrahim was the most greedy and evil and hateful character on the contrary Rustem Pasha was hurted too but he really loved Mihrimah Sultan and he was 1000% in love with her. Rustem wanted power yes but he loved Mihrimah Sultan and gave her always joy even if she was always betraying him,cheating on him and in the end she ordered his execution. But Ibrahim was nothing than a fake and two faced opportunist !!!
I see people talking bad about this series. And I'm tired of them comparing it to Magnificent Century. This century of Sultan Ahmed 1 is gloomy. Every corner you look there is a person who wants you dead. And you also dare to compare Suleiman with Ahmed. He literally sleeps with a knife stuck under his pillow!?At any moment someone could kill him. Now understand that and dont dare to even compare them!
Sultan Suleiman conquered the world, Ahmed is buzy fighting his grandmother 😂 Let's hope the story gets better, so far it is a far cry from the first one.
Yes, but it is what it is. Sultan Ahmed was only 13 when he ruled, compared to 26 y.o sultan Suleiman. Ahmed havent even been in sanjak yet, he was inexperienced and his grandma was powerhungry. Sultan suleiman lived for a long time till in his 70s, while Sultan Ahmed passed away at 27. So of course Sultan Ahmed and Sulaiman cant be compared equally, both started and went through very different era.
Magnificent century was much better one. Not getting the spark. They are trying to make the story in some point similar. I like suleyman's acting his voice and also the charm of hurram. Anastasia and Ahmed is very weak
I like how Ahmed is not wilfuly blind to the fact that his mother does not like Anastasia and is stern about it throughout..most of the time..... Quite unlike MCseries Suleiman, who always sort of fell for whatever his family said as if he did not know Hürrem at all
I don't know if the role of Handan was meant like this, but she acts nothing like a Valide, but more of a stupid concubine with no important influence on anyone, especially his son
The series Kosem is so boring compared to Suleyman Era! Or maybe the main actors make it like that, except for the actress playing Safyie. Pity we know nothing of how Nurbanu ended, than the youth of Safyie, then Halime....
