Most enjoyable thing is listening to commentators talking down on Gukish.. Especially when he said "Gukish tried to be smart here, he should've kept it simple"
"I think he's just not made the right moves. He'll learn from this. Rook to D3 was misguided. He's inexperienced and.....WOOOAAAH what??! Wow what a great move!!" hahaha
That Bald guy is IM himself. He's not even a GM. He & the others are sitting in front of Computers & Screens judging the match with the help of AI bar. That baldy was just tryna' be superciliously smart, but everyone knows where he stands & where Gukesh stands. Apart from David Howell, no one from the panel has the ability to predict the brilliant moves played by Elite GMs without the help of AI/Computers. They just tryna' look down on Gukesh, maybe because he's way too young, maybe because he's Indian, but how can they forget his performance & rise over the recent years and how he performed in the Olympiad. Nevertheless, I don't give a fuck about any of theirs opinion, apart from David. I respect David & his mind.
It is so satisfying to see the turn of events. Also, it is seriously WRONG to think that the win was because Magnus blundered at one last rook move (just by looking at that scale from 2.8 to 7.1). If there was no scale, all will conclude that Gukesh planned to be such aggressive by placing Rook on C1 instead of D1. He took a LOT OF time to think. GMs like him don't think simple anticipation reason quoted by commentator. He knew the then he will be giving two free pawns and get mid game development to Rc7 and took the chance (as a normal book move Rd1 won't win against Carlsen who is superior at endgame). It was a result of series of moves, a perfect strategy beginning from Rc1 (which was criticised a lot by commentators). People will say he should have played Ng6 etc etc but that's biased. A great match, and congrats to Gukesh. Who all agree with me?
Gukesh said in an interview long ago that he wants to be a world champion. His dad (doctor) sacrificed so much seeing his sons dedication for chess. I'm so happy to see results
expert commentators were busy with praising magnus moves , wc magnus was busy with eating gukesh's pawns...neither understood surprisingly enough that gukesh is actually eyeing for magnus's queen 🙂... kudos to gukesh for beating wc and also his expert commentary team !!
These commentators are hilarious. Talking down Gukesh just because of his age (and their hubris) while completely missing the moment Gukesh takes the game.
I mean there are some strong chess players sitting at the table, none of them saw the move and it took them quite a while to see the actual queen trap idea. This 16 year old kid blitzed the move out... HOW?! I'm sure at this rate we will soon see a chess player who can outplay Magnus on a consistent basis. Give it a few more years.
