Overall, The Magpul DAKA Pouches are an ideal item for someone who wants to store and organize their travel gear in a no-frills, dependable, and durable product. If you find yourself on the wrong side of being careful with your gear, you can be sure these DAKA pouches will keep water, dirt, and grime from ruining anything you put inside. While they might not be the prettiest products, nor heavily padded or outfitted with internal organizers, they are amazing catch-alls for anything from batteries and cords to camera bodies and lenses. And they work, and work well, each and every time.

As a onebagger and firearms enthusiast, it's interesting to see the crossover between defense-orientated gear and outdoor travel. This is shown through the nonprofessional use of garments from Arc'teryx LEAF or Patagonia Pro, brands that appeal to the needs of both consumers (i.e., GoRuck, Osprey, Salomon, Darn Tough, Outdoor Research, Steamlight, et al.) and how nearly every established outdoor clothing and gear company uses their existing R&D to contract with the Department of Defense. A wider social implication is that American citizens casually travel with the same state-of-the-art, American-made technologies (i.e., GORE-TEX, Codura, MOLLE, Polartec, Nano Puff, Coreloft, etc.) that U.S. military and law enforcement professionals also use. It's great to see the Magpul Daka pouch-advertised by Magpul to store ammunition and tourniquets-recognized by Pack Hacker for its relevant utility in one bagging. It's also an interesting display of the free market at work: different communities with relevant needs find great utility in the same brands.

The carabiner attachment point is not just to link Dakas together. With two rings/S-biners and a strap you can turn any Daka pouch into an ultra-minimalist waterproof sling.

i agree with the carabiner hole placement, i fit my pistol and spare mag and its very difficult to put it in there but it fits perfectly. Definitely sort of an issue but other than that they are freakin awesome!

My guess as to why the carbiner holes are not on the bottom of the pouch: because if they were maybe when you open the pouch while it's hanging, everything will fall out?

One question, does anybody know what the actual material is? They only say it’s polymer fabric but nothing can be found online, maybe it’s under another name. I would like to purchase some of this fabric or similar for some projects, but cant really find it.

I think the zipper does not go from end to end is to have a tighter seal between the ends of zipper and the start of the polymer material

I would need to see this under water in a bath tube at the bottom for an hour to be truly confident, you should try this please. because maybe after a long time it might go thru, we don't know for sure. 30 sec, is wayyyy not long enough for me.

Pack Hacker a lot of youtubers just film their b roll and video and send it to the person via email or Dropbox or something and they edit via conference call, FaceTime, screen sharing etc. But to each their own. Subscribed to both of you guys so I'll definitely be excited for that video. It's the Christmas/traveling season, channels like these usually gain a ton of subscribers around this time.

Late to the show but aquaguard zippers aren’t meant to work from the inside like that. The exterior is the waterproof side while the interior is mostly unsealed. Still, they work as intended so useless data point unless you want to transport sauce.

Worth noting that Magpul is primarily a manufacturer of firearms accessories (magazines, stocks, grips, etc.), in case that might influence someone's purchasing decision one way or another.

These things are STUPID overpriced. Probably costs magpul less than a buck to make these. It should be a small medium AND large pouch, for 20 bucks. Not 20+ bucks a freaking pouch. A bank bag will work exactly the same and those can be bought in packs of 10 for less than 15 bucks.

They came from Colorado and left when they banned 30 round magazines and they make the best magazines in America .. They are pro American and believe in our 2nd amendment . So why wouldn’t they leave ? Colorado used to to be a great state , now it’s like my home state of California, a rouge state with rouge laws..
