Hi any idea whether the chemical binders used to bind the hard top and the metal body are covered under warranty for leakages etc. Some of the test rides initially have found tiny specks of water entering inside. I think this can be the biggest issue with the car once the initial euphoria dies out.
Hi Sid, Firstly lovely review. I have 3 questions: 1) Is the durability of FRP hardtop in Thar 2020 concerning? 2) Don't you think stop lamps are placed too high with wire exposed? 3) Is the carpeting in the 2nd row which lacks finishing be carried over to production ready model? Please guide. Thanks.
Hi Kushal, 1. Should be good, cannot give you a guarantee, but seems like its been worked on well. 2. Yes - and we pointed this out to M&M< and were told these were early pre-production cars. So fingers crossed on the final product! 3. Again we have been told a better version will be on market. Lots to look out for on Oct 2! thanks for your feedback SVP
Mahindra Thar 2020 has managed to generate a whole lot of buzz since it was first unveiled on August 15. Now while the Thar has always been renowned for how it manages to make a mockery of any on-road and off-road challenge, it wasn't much on counts of cabin space and comfort. Mahindra has sought to change all of that as it looks to make Thar 2020 appeal to a wider set of audience instead of being a very capable niche player in the Indian automobile market.❤️👍👍👍
Hello Siddharth sir, how about addition to the new thar which goes like this, 35 inches tyres, lift kit required? Enhanced brakes/suspension considering the above point. Rear bench seats for any variant makes sense. A winch, Snorkel, rear camera. Customised rear hard top with effective ventilation or sliding windows. All the above for petrol LX AMT or Manual version ..... please please do give your comment on this one ....might be a whole lot interested in upgrading. Thanks.
There will be a lot of accessories and customisations on offer in the coming months says M&M, so yes expect some of this to happen for sure. Good feedback! SVP
OMG 🧐, I can't believe my eye by seeing the Thar with such soomth steering and plush interior and goog air conditioner which avoid fog forming in interior during rainy day s, which I hate on my Thar Over-all 👍 Mahindra Engineers and I have assume they had very short lunch break during the designing phase to come up with great utility vehicle
Independent double wishbone with coil over damper and stabilisation bar. AT the back its a multilink solid rear axle with coil spring and stabilisation bar.
When you are trying to explain that a 4 door version will be really good and show pictures of the wrangler, bronco and the defender, the image of the defender is a defender 90 which is a three door.
Good point, and an error on our part no doubt. The idea was to show how they have both - but not conveyed effectively, we agree. Thanks for the feedback
The aftermarket new thar grills which replicate the jeep are already available in the market as a part of mods... which is crazy. But the convertible is the best for a thar.... wow i just love how they have transformed the car into a family vehicle as well.....
overall New Thar is Improved Compared to Previous Generations and Few Achilies heels in this Vehicle are 1) Back Seating is not at Comfortable and Rear Space is also Compromised 2) Rear Door Should Have been Single Door and Coming out and Coming in is difficult 3) Suspension is very Bumpy 4) Rear Camera Could have been Given
i thinks front bumber ' tail lights ' bonnet locks' ' front grill ' ......whats do u think plz reply me.....its jeep wrangler exact copy .....Thats why in USA Jeep file complaint against mahindra .....when its launch its roxer
Good . Let’s wait for the on road prices, then to decide . Need to understand how smooth is the clutch / heat below gear like bolero, front Bumber could have done better, spoiled them back front face seat ( need to look at). Mahindra has considered everything. Auto Diesel on road price should not cross 13.5, if it cross then selling in 2021 would be little tougher.
That this Thar will attract mainstream customers as an alternative to Crete & xuv300 is a nice vision but for that this car needs to be more comparatively priced. It is already a sub 4M vehicle. Mahindra's brilliant 100hp, 1.5 liter, 3 pot diesel mill will make the car fit into a lower GST slab bringing down its price to say 7 lakh rupees. 60/40 front row seating, soft top & RWD layout shoed on thinner 16" rubber will make it very interesting.
Finally Sid your seen on an India Product just like it used to be the Good Old Day's Happy to see you covered the Thar perfectly well But we want a part two version of as all has not been covered in this series of the Show Lots of factors like price mileage service warranty are unanswered questions which we want to know
The exrtra wide plastic fender in front is a spoiler in many ways: Doesn't really fend anything, comes in the way of limiting vehicle size and approach angle. Could Mahindra have improved rear seat space or luggage space while retaining under 4 metres dimensions?
Been watching you since 2004 SVP, when you did a piece with John and Dhoom bikes, and here you are in 2020, with one of your best hands on review ever!!
I am definitely sure this mstallion petrol engine will be also given by Mahindra in the new generation Scorpio and xuv500 next year 🔥😍 Mahindra is back in the big game
Replacing the back row seat with two side seats can accommodate 6 people. For that, replace the existing split back door with a single door that can be opened to the side, I can buy one.
It is a good looking car, but I will wait for the 5-door Thar with bigger boot space. This car has hardly any space for equipment required for an expedition or even an ordinary vacation.
Definitely it's a big improvement over the old Thar, but keeping in mind that 90% people don't go off road which the Thar is made for... the price tag would decide the future of it's sales ....since if the leaked price is correct it's gonna be between 10 to 14 lakh ex showroom and keeping in mind the creature comfort it offers that's quite high... compared to it's competition....await people's comment.
Hey, we haven't tested the petrol manual yet. As we just got the petrol automatic to drive, we'll share our views on it if we get a chance to drive it in future.
Will mahindra please start making and marketing more than just the Roxor in the United States. PLEASE!!!!! I love these vehicles. And this is coming from a guy who is a die hard American muscle car guy.
Had it been a 4 (4+1) door. I swear it would have been the biggest hit. i have been waiting for a 4 door since the age of Tata Sierra. But a 2 door SUV ?? Its so difficult getting in.
Mahindra and Tata are mostly rated as the best by all, but because of not launching at competitive price leads them to a low sales figure and leaves them with only option to bring out many variants to achieve their targets..... felt like Tata should have better priced Nexon and Harrier and should not have increased the price becoz of initial sales..
Superb improvement on the Thar from the last one. However, this is ok for the single or at most, two people with luggage. More than 3 people will suffocate in this latest Thar avatar. Not a family car forsure. The luggage space is almost negligible. No wonder they didn't show the 'boot' of the Thar. Good as a second car, not as the primary family car.
Boy oh boy...Now that's a satisfying review I was looking for this beast...Welldone guys...You earned my respect and that thing is just sexy as hell...I really want a 5door version😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍
Very genuine review in terms of content! Presentation feedback: you have got to tuck in that shirt and have button them sleeves. This is what's tugging you down from being a more viewer oriented channel :)
Agree on the muffled part. But a) there is a crew along with me and b) our responsibility as journalists to portray the right thing to people. In this time. That's why its there. Thanks though! SVP
@@carandbike yes I mean this vehicle never will be a choice for first time car buyer...those have already a car having 5 doors, they may go for it if they love and mad about trips....and this vehicle's top model if cost more than 15 lack then very difficult to win hearts of mid range riders
It's funny to see how much dese auto channels romantasise petrol engines...but on ground 80%+ people in India opt 4 diesel 4 SUVs.. Even creta owners opted 4 diesel - an urban crossover
Come on, this wasn’t a review. What about high speed stability? NVH? You didn’t even talk about whether the soft top is noisy. A review would also mention fuel efficiency.
missing out more details on driving manners like..steering response , braking, turning radius ,low shift performance ,tow capability and more , was a half baked review
