It is interesting seeing an accordion within the ensemble in all of Simon´s arrangements of Mahler symphonies. I know that Jewish people love the accordion and makes perfect sense. Perhaps Klaus Simon is also of Jewish extraction? Mahler was!
I noticed that the timpanist at one stage in the first movement tries to play the triangle with his timpani stick. The triangle should be played properly with a metal beater.Another Percussionist should have been employed during that section of music
