The defending Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs stayed undefeated last night after beating the Ravens 34-20. Patrick Mahomes looked like his usual self with an efficient 385 passing yards and 5 total touchdowns, but the KC defense was the big surprise last night, keeping the Baltimore Ravens offense out of the end zone until early in the 4th quarter. Lamar Jackson-who finished with only 97 passing yards-is now 0-and-3 against the Chiefs, and afterward even admitted that he looks at Kansas City as 'kryptonite.' @David Lucas Ortiz 3 straight years with Alex Smith, KC failed to score even 24pts in the playoff in the 1st round. Imagine being down 24-0 to the Texans last year with Alex Smith. And the comparison about talent is getting lame, because nobody can win without help, especially football. Russel Wilson has won ANYTHING without the Legion of Boom? @Chow Legend Thank you. So many casual fans base their arguments off of stats and box scores. Not the actual game/the way they play. A prime example is Prescott from last year, how he was ranked 2nd in the league in passing yards but if you actually watched the games it happened from check down passes while the game was completely out of control and his opponents had a big lead which made them decide to play prevent defense. I agree that box score and stat watchers tend to look foolish when talking about players.

The only team I could see beating Kansas City is Seattle. Seattle is just randomly able to beat the best team in the league. 2016 against the Pats in Foxborough, Philadelphia in2018, and Kansas City in 2019. And I think that right now Russell Wilson is the best quarterback, in a couple of years Mahomes will definitely be the best, but Russ can pretty much read any defense right now, and he is the most accurate quarterback in the league right now. A Russ vs Mahomes super bowl would be incredible.

Mahomes and his pocket awareness, knowing when to step up in the pocket, and throw or turn upfield and run. Like.. Wow. He plays like he's been in the league 8 years. The way he makes those throws perfectly in a place where only the receiver can get it. Sometimes under duress. From Jeff George, Dan Marino, Aaron Rodgers.. This dude is unlike anything I've ever seen. Wow.

He’s a young Brady/Aron Rodgers hybrid. Has all the physical tools that Arod came with (mobility in the pocket, quicker legs, great arm strength) + Brady’s calm under pressure. That being said greatness isn’t built overnight, I think he’s hit the greatest PEAK as a qb goes, but GOAT status is built on longevity & consistency. Let’s see how it goes moving forward.

Yes! That's what I was saying after the game (Ravens fan). Andy Reid had some absolutely amazing play designs! Any defense would've struggled with the tricks he pulled out last night. Andy also lets his players play their game (Andy does call the plays I believe?) John has some nincompoops who were making the Ravens throw throw throw when the game plan should've been run run run. The ravens did an excellent job of running the ball and a putrid job of catching the ball. John should've said we're going to run but he didn't.

He’s smarter than Greg Roman for sure. Harbs is a nothing burger of a coach tbh. Ray Lewis Ed Reed and Suggs led the Ravens emotionally to the 2013 Super Bowl Flacco led physically with the help of Jim Caldwell mentally. He’s a whole lotta average. Lamar saved his job.

Eredin, King of the Wild Hunt packers/bucks/Seattle would all have a shot at beating the chiefs but there are a few issues. Bucs have to fix that running game or they won’t get that far, cant be that one dimensional with a 43 year old qb even if he’s the goat. Seattle is too dependent on Wilson being perfect and need to sure up that defense. Packers look to be the team to beat in the NFC currently but they need to keep arod off his back. He tends to fall off in the second half of the season, that’s the trend over the last few years. But as a tom brady fan= the last thing you wanna see is a tom brady led team being the underdog in the playoffs, if healthy the bucs can simply outscore teams once they put it together 😂

Lamar is not a guy I could rely on to make a comeback . Down a few touchdowns and he becomes understandably frustrated. Elite QB’s are able to do something with that and they elevate their team ; I’ve never seen it when they’re playing from behind .

As much as the chiefs are hyped rn (deservedly so as the champs to be fair), GB/Bucs/Seattle all have a very decent shot at beating them in a SB imo. All 3 have guys that have been there before, have made playoff runs before, and have great offenses. It’s doable. And the Steelers are no joke out in the AFC either and have a much better defense than the chiefs imo. 🤷🏽‍♂️

Ariel Argueta I would take a aging Brady/Brees in the playoffs over lamar 100/100 times. He’s a great athlete and he can use that to hinder the defense, but the second he’s put into passing situations he folds. I don’t care about regular season numbers, the league rewards offenses anyways. Playoff numbers are trash and that’s what counts 🤷🏽‍♂️

Despite the Chiefs defense not being amazing a lot of the time, they can string together great games. The thing is, the Chiefs have an elite D-Line despite a secondary that is at times lacking. THAT is why they're able to do so well against Lamar Jackson, they contained him and dared him to throw quickly with great pressure. Lamar has an arm, he'll find the open guy and hit em when the throw is there, but he won't create you a throw like Mahomes does. Both the Titans and the Chiefs seem to have that figured out about Lamar and the Ravens

Having no crowd noise definitely helps the visiting team, no question. Mahomes was clearly audibly and pointing out defense coverages at the line and the O-line was all on point. They didn't miss a blocking assignment all game. I don't think they even had a holding penalty which is almost unheard of. Mahomes had that whole defense on the ropes ALL night long.

Atrocious is a bit strong. Their run game was effective all game, and they needed to stick with their normal gameplan. Instead, the chiefs got on pace to hang 60 on their defense, and they started going for play-action bombs on 2nd downs rather than focusing on keeping the chains moving. And they barely missed on every single one of those big plays, with dropped passes and slight overthrows. Only way to beat Mahomes is to do what the 49ers did right for most of the SB: run the ball, limit his possessions, hope for a defensive stand now and then.

Agreed! Ravens fan also. Lamar didn't do amazing, but when the other 10 guys on the offense don't show up what are supposed to do?! To me the difference was in the trenches. The chiefs had better DL and OL. That was the biggest difference. If the the ravens didn't have to blitz I think the defense does better, if the OL actually blocks somebody (pass or run) I think the offense has way more success and is on the field longer. The beatdown happened at the LOS
