Is it still this hard to talk about what Dak does well or is it all about deflecting? I think Dak is playing really well, but I wouldn't call 3-0 against teams with a combined 1-8 record the 2nd best QB in the league. I don't see him playing terribly for the rest of the season, but why should he be top 5 right now?

No, that's not the same logic at all. They're analyzing the specific passes in a vacuum, regardless of outcome. So, in their analysis the perfectly thrown pass that bounced off the receiver's hands and was intercepted would not count against the qb, whereas the pass that was thrown directly into the hands of the cornerback before being dropped WOULD count against the qb. If you were to just look at outcomes, you'd think the qb who threw the perfect pass pick performed worse than the qb who threw the horrible pass directly to the defense but lucked out with a drop.

Wentz has performed well considering he's been missing his top 2 WRs for the last two games. He's made plenty of great plays to keep his team in each game. It's not his fault his third string WRs drop wide open passes and his defense can't stop opponents. You should watch the games rather than judge solely off team record.

Well there are plenty of plays where a receiver makes the qb look good when in reality it was a bad throw. Edelman did that on that miracle catch against Atlanta. Wasnt a great throw, but it was complete. I'm sure Mahomes does have a few throws where it was risky, and his receivers didnt let him down. Now, I wouldnt rank him sixth... at worst hes #2 behind only Brady.

@@Gbformula9 The thing is you do expect your QB to make these tough throws ,through tight window, between the defenders, if the QB has great talent. And you cant punish him for pulling it of. Normal QB are not supposed to take risky throw, but the trully great one will make their living out of it at times. Its like in the NBA when you dont encourage your player to take 30ft 3pt shot because its low %, then Steph Curry come along and now guys are taking those crazy shot. Basically you have to adjust the system if there is a guy who come crashing it.

And before you say the defense, keep in mind that, excluding the cap hits of the qbs, the cheifs spend 80 mill on offense, 60 on defense, and the patriots spend 80 on defense and 60 on offense, so of course they will have the better defense, they have devoted more money to it

As a Patriots fan, I believe Brady is playing great, but Mahomes is simply just something else. If I had to rank top 3, I’d do 1. Mahomes, 2. Brady, and 3. Dak. Looking forward to seeing them two play against eachother this season :)

mahomes should defenitely be number 2. But I think Brady is above him because if you have watched the patriots brady has just been flawless. Every play goes exactly how he wants it to. And as skip said no interceptions or balls that could be intercepted or any fumbles. Patrick mahomes has a beast of an arm but yet again you have to see that their offense is basically run around him throwing the ball so ofc his numbers will be inflated while also have balls that could be intercepted (its a dumb stat butill go off of what PFF is doing) and he has 3 ugly fumbles. But I think they are very close.

Classic Skip. Hating on anyone not named Tom Brady, any Dallas Cowboy, or any Oklahoma Sooner. I normally like PFF a lot, but Brady dinking and dunking for 3 games against nobodies without having to take a risk doesn't compare to Mahomes and the numbers he's putting up against legit defenses. Obviously I believe that if Mahomes should be at 2, then I also believe he should be ahead of Wentz. Dak has been playing great this season, but Mahomes is on pace for 6000 yards with no interceptions and Dak isn’t even the best player on his offense.

think outside the box, what if qb passing yards only accounted for the yards of actual catch, not yards after catch. kinda bulljive for QBs to get credit for a 12 yd pass that receiver takes 80yds to score
