And even then, Brady and Patriots gamed the system with Brady taking team-friendly deals and having the 10th-20th highest cap hit among QBs every year. Last year, Mahomes had the 2nd highest cap hit among QBs, this year the highest. If he had taken a team-friendly deal that made him the 10th highest cap hit for 2023, the Chiefs would have had an extra $18 mil to resign Juju and add someone like Deandre Hopkins. These last two SB wins have been very impressive.

Dan is correct, while we all can marvel at the physical abilities of Mahomes, I think the last two super bowls are perfect examples of a QB thinking at the highest level and elite game-managing. He is so aware of the situation and what it calls for. That one interception I can live with because he was trying to spark the O with a big play. But against the Eagles and in the 4th/OT against the Niners he showed elite decision making with his throws and legs. This is why he's like Brady...when the moment calls for him to make a play he knows how to make a play. I would still say he needs to be closer in rings to be the GOAT but I give a 50-50 shot that he does it.
