Most of these commenting people don't know how tied Fatal Fury and Street Fighter are. It's dope that they added Terry and Mai! Can't wait for a Capcom vs SNK3 and come on you know SF6 going to have at least 5 seasons. We need more rival school characters added as well.
The Terry and Mai hate is hilarious. Yall want new sf games with the same dlc characters every game. I'm super hyped Terry and Mai made it in. Two of my mains from FF and KOF. Those two fit SF PERFECTLY. This opens up so many doors for Sf and FF characters. Now if they can just add Allen Snider and Doctrine Dark from SF EX.

I'd love to see what kind of life they carve out for themselves in Metro City, and I'd especially love to see how Sakura and Lifen get along. I can see her getting really frustrated at how strong Sakura is despite them being around the same age 🤣

Idc if he’s *just* mid with the last sfv patch, I enjoyed playing his clunky ass in sfIII, and there are a lot of other alex mains waiting patiently, not to mention older fans who were there before sean was patched to oblivion. Good advice for you: boot Fightcade and play Fatal Fury Real Bout Special. You are going to see the peak of Terry and Mai. And Mai is popular because she is the 1st waifu. Not Chun. When she released, it was huge for the time. Check old magazines, all over the world there were articles about Mai and her design. Be careful with Mai, she is the queen of the waifus. After playing her, you maybe ask: who is Sakura?
Mai and Terry are Fatal Fury characters more than they are KOF characters. And Fatal Fury was a spiritual successor to SF and had ex Capcom devs working on it and one of them was the director, so in a sense they belong.

Those two are more of a Fatal Fury characters because of how important they are in the Fatal Fury universe. There's literally an anime lol. Since kof is like a separate universe and is the og crossover fighting game they don't nearly get the same treatment there compared to FF.
In Tekken, I dressed both Asuka and Reina as Sakura, and I’ve changed my username to Sakura on a budget to help me cope. Also tried to write Makoto at home, but sadly there aren’t enough customizable outfits to make it work.
guest characters are cool. BUT, i HATE that in a lot of fighting games lately, especially mortal kombat, Guest characters take up HALF or near half of the dlc characters. We dont even have the full roster of main characters or returning characters yet. Then they add guest characters? it feels like we get cheated out of characters we actually want. I feel like guest characters also defeat chances of devs creating new original characters. Because they have to choose between returning fan favorites or creating a new character with only 2 slots to do it since the other 2 slots are reserved for guest characters. The smart choice of course is to bring back fan favorites. So yeah, guest characters are cool but also lame
They better have a few sneak in characters because that gap between Elena and Mai is LONG! Also Power Rangers Battle for the Grid did that with three characters so Capcom doesn't have an excuse here.
Mai's the reason I immediatley bought the Year 2 pass. It's a major win IMO and I don't give a damn what you or others say. Guest characters are more hype regardless of what others might say.
Rugal would have been the ultimate guest character and a big parallel to bison. Would have been so much better than having two regular guests, just one boss guest. The hype would have been insane.

M Bison got given/taught (its not really explained with any other wording aside from "given") the ability to use soul power/psycho power by some guy who's name is never told to us, after which Bison finds out psycho power derives energy from the negativity in the world and himself, and soul power derives energy from the positivity in the world and himself. So he removes all of the soul power (the good shit) to remove the balance inside of him and let the negative energy grow in power. And so this is where the canon is kinda confusing, in some stuff its said that Rose just comes into existence as the manifestation of Bison's soul power being ripped out of himself, and in other content it's shown that he got saved by a group of Romani travelers after being in a town that blew up or something, and that as he got better he took Rose as an apprentice who he then transferred all of his soul power into. Given that Rose has become much more fleshed out as an entity in recent games, my guess is that Capcom is going with the 'Rose was and is a separate entity to Bison and not a personification of all his good'. With this new Bison though, it seems like he's just become fully reset as a person. He's shown using both psycho and soul power throughout his moveset, also there's more proof in how he uses soul power in how he was teased in World Tour. When the Akuma update dropped, they actually tease this hooded figure reviving a horse in Mexico, something not really related to the 'big, evil, negative, destructive' energy that psycho power is related to. On top of randomly reviving horses though, seems in the dev blog for him he's simplified his goals in life. Rather than world domination, he's just become a scary hobo who wants to learn what will make him smile. I'm personally hoping this is the last of the psycho/soul power characters in the game, but I'd imagine Rose and Menat are too favored to skip out on. I'm just hoping G/Q gets in! I feel like G got heavily robbed due to the rough production of SFV, so hoping that maybe they drop this whole buildup of the return of Shadaloo now that their leader has become a hippie who doesn't care for them anymore and instead maybe go back to G wanting to commit world instrumentality in the Street Fighter world lol. Rose getting in would actually likely tease at G coming in shortly after cuz of how she teased a larger role for him in SFV. Lots to look forwards to!
@@nugieboy well, to be fair my argument wouldve been along the lines of 'well we've already seen enough of it and how it's used among characters like JP, Ed, and now Bison', but realistically after thinking about it now, Menat and Rose do actually bring an entirely separate side in the form of Soul Power, being used defensively or just being the only puppet character in SF lol. In all honesty, I might've just said that as a thinly veiled way of saying that I don't want any other character to get in that aren't the ones I want lol, is it so wrong to want a charge boxer over another purple/blue energy user!

Menat though is a very interesting an incredibly unique character for sure though. Honestly more than anything, I'd love it if they made a brand new character that uses soul power in a way that isn't delicate. Like I get that that's generally how soul and psycho is differentiated through animations and attacks, but in the sense that psycho is overwhelming bad and negativity, soul is overwhelming good and positivity. So my idea of something I'd love to see is like just an overwhelmingly brutal and oppressive character using soul power, obsessed with cleansing the world, almost like an anti-version of old M Bison. In a sense that description slightly relates to Q lol, but idk, just came up off the top of my head.

So I see a lot of resistance with the guest characters but a lot of people forget or unaware of these characters history and why they are special. Everyone says "King of Fighters" which yes came after and they are in but the game they originated was Fatal Fury. Fatal Fury's concept was created from a group of former capcom developers with the desire to make a successor game of the original Street Fighter, which played very differently from where the series continued from II. With this in mind as well as the previous crossover with SNK, these characters aren't out of place but more of brought back to a place of their spiritual roots. Another thing I'd like to point out on the Capcom side, is the inclusion of Mike Haggar, Guy, Cody, Hugo and Poison. All these characters are from Final Fight, which is a beat up title, not a street fighter title, yet they are included in the same universe. In this case of guest characters, it is NOT the same as say, 2B, Witcher, etc, because their content isnt outlandish compared to the game they are participating in (Ie Joker from Persona 5 in Dragalia Lost, Aloy from Horizon in Genshin.)

I'm not going to pretend by having fake hype like most of these delusional fanboys have. To keep it real it's very disappointing that guest characters are taking up 50% of the lineup which is just completely nonsensical and a complete waste. The lineup just mostly feels very stale, unimaginative, nonsensical, uninteresting, repetitive, and corporately forced. It's completely tone deaf from what many SF fans wanted. You would think Capcom would have the common sense to know SF fans want to play SF characters in a SF game. Not some lame generic one off guest characters who aren't coming back in the future and steal spots from actual SF characters. There's still a bunch of way more interesting, popular, and heavily requested SF characters that deserve to be in the game more than most of these lame picks. Also, Nash has died completely for nothing now and SFV is pointless which is just a pathetic joke. I just feel like Capcom made mostly all of these character picks only because of sex appeal, cheap broad popularity, and money alone. It just feels like a very scummy inauthentic desperate move and doesn't really make sense to have most of these characters this early over clearly more deserving SF characters that fans have wanted back for years. Mostly all of these picks don't bring anything new or interesting to the game except maybe Elena. Terry is just another mostly lame generic shoto in a game where there is already too many. Basically, Ken with a trucker hat and jeans. Mai is one of the least interesting and most unimaginative female characters ever in an SNK game and was only picked because of sex appeal towards braindead horny gamers. She's just another less interesting Chun-Li. Bison looks like the same old boring shit we've already seen too many times before only now he's got the most unimaginative nonsensical shit like having a horse and looking like a hobo. His design looks awful too like they just threw random ideas together because they thought it would look cool. He still looks like a complete cartoonish joke of a villain and in almost every aspect looks very out of place in SF6. He's pointless in a game where there is already a much better and more interesting villain who uses psycho power in JP. Also only having 4 characters for over a year is terrible for how much Capcom is overpricing all this shit. There needs to be more than 4 because that is a dam ripoff especially for $70. I wouldn't have nearly as many problems with this season if it was 5-6 characters and only one guest character because then the price would feel somewhat justified. All this just tells me that the games director has completely lost touch because now it looks like a complete scummy lame waste of a season. Just more of the same old shit from last season only somehow worse. Capcom just going keep nickel and diming their delusional fanboys so they can exploit them as much as possible. Once again glad I didn't waste my money on this game because Crapcom is clearly still alive and well. People still wonder why games popularity has fell off a cliff since launch and why it will only continue to do that this season. It's because people realized just how scummy and hollow the game truly is. Capcom is now truly creatively bankrupt. I guess i'll check back in next year to see if they’re going to do anything interesting with this game but i'm not getting my hopes up.

I just think people are entitled to their opinions, and I’ve been in your shoes, can’t say I really care about Terry, Mai, or even Elena and bison since I did have a wishlist, but ultimately I have a character I like to play and am attached to in the game already so it’s easy to be neutral for me I guess. I have characters I want but I’m satisfied atm and at the end of the day each DLC character has been unique and their personalities/inclusion have been great and id argue a net positive so I honestly trust them to make Terry and Mai great in the game too, even if it was at the expense of a SF fans inclusion of their character! But yeah like I said I used to go around texting this kinda stuff and I feel at ease making vids like this so I can “say it once” and be done with the convo, but to each their own
The real tragedy is ed and Aki. Nobody, NOBODY asked for these characters. They could have been sakura and Dudley, or Makoto and Q. Ibuki and sagat, or menat and Urien. I think the characters are ok. It does suck seeing 2 guest characters out of a 4 character pass because there is still many holes that 'need' to be filled (need as in fan favorites and/or story related; i.e. menat, sakura, c. viper, 3S characters...). I like your point about Elena setting up for a 3S season (or at very least 3S dominant season, I'd love to see Viper or Sakura). Once the trailers and in-game footage for Terry, and especially Mai, drop, people will change their tune. If Capcom can space the marketing and releases right, I think the wait won't be terrible; though more in-game content like Costumes and World Tour updates (collaborations that don't break the bank too!) will help. I really hope they chill on guest characters though. If they HAVE to, add more characters for overall pass, like 5 or 6. Massive copium take, but the pass being 10 dollars more = hidden character??!?!?

People are asking for a *Capcom vs. SNK 3* comeback game; but the devs just shoehorned Terry & Mai into *Street Fighter 6* instead. *Mortal Kombat 1* has the same problem; Homelander, Omni-Man, Peacemaker & Spawn all belong in a potential *Injustice 3* (with an M-rating) basically because they're superheroes and supervillains, beyond Kombatants!
I think the screens M. Bison is looking at in his story scenes don't represent alternate timelines, but are just a record of what happened in the past that he's looking at. And he gets pissed, maybe because he lost, lol. But while I love Mai, I don't really like guest characters. It's a lot of things, but mostly it's that they *1)* take up a slot that could have gone to a fan favorite, *2)* don't always fit in the game's universe, and *3)* are not guaranteed to come back again. And yeah, if you're only doing 4 chars a year, and you give two slots to guest characters... it stings, a lot. I mean, looking at the roster for SF6, it's like why even keep doing those popularity polls if you're just gonna ignore them? I understand them keeping Sakura for a mid-life-cycle refresh, but Dudley and Makoto are always on top and neither of them is anywhere to be seen.

not gonna lie, people bitchin n moaning about guest characters crossing over to "their game" shouldn't be a thing at all. like we're not in a console war anymore cause both xbox and playstation going to shit and nintendo is just stingy till they see actually something worth doing something. i love guest characters personally but i do see how and why it could break the game cause of said special guest character, it's about balancing/tuning the character at that point. Reason why I brought up "console war" cause last i checked companies like capcom would have focus on making games for nintendo then sega later, then SNK was originally arcade focus but was bringing their games to console but sega was better in that regard vs nintendo during those days. now it's main focus is really is the fans vs the company interest.
Since the first Fatal Fury, we've always wanted to know and wonder what it would be like if Terry was in Street Fighter fighting against Ryu or Ken, and now that we got that there are some fans that complain and complain about it. Kind of ungrateful to be honest. Also I think after all these years, it's time for some legacy characters to die off already so there will be new faces to take over and further progress the story line. I was hoping the guest characters would be Scorpion and Sub Zero so the whole Internet will crash.

i was really hoping to get ibuki or cody, also if they got KoF guests they could've at least gotten something less mainstream and 2 of them is too much on a 4 character season pass.
If they do what they did for season 2 for season 3 then we should get another character close to when we get Elena. that might explain why Elena isnt that exciting to close out the season

If its only healing drive gauge I wouldnt make it cost a super. Just have her have like a quarter circle forward for rhino horn and a quarter circle back for healing so you can just go ham all day burning meter (like 3s Elena) and get it back on every knock down kinda like Jamie drinks, give up oki gain advantage. If we get health healing it will be insanely fun.
That’s a good idea too, but I hope it has enough advantage where she doesn’t have to give up oki, my idea in theory if it was like an invul level 1 or maybe a level 2 that like full heals it means it could have a lot of utility, making it like blanka or rashid where you never see her level 3 lol unless to kill the other persons drive. I could see either being cool though

Generally speaking, Mai's gameplay is based around air mobility and good pokes. IIRC her damage tends to be on the low side, but she has a wall jump, a dive, and air grab and a command normal that changes her momentum in the air and causes a hard knockdown...kinda depends on game. She tends to fluctuate on how good she is from game to game. Mind you, I'm not an expert and don't play competitively, I'm just a fan of the franchise. And honestly, I think they needed the 2 characters because capcom fighting games seem to have a tendency to not look at other franchises (hell, Maximillian Dood said multiple times in the past he had no interest in non capcom stuff before cvs2), so they might think a stronger push for interest is warranted. Especially if they're gauging interest for a possible cvs3.
Street Fighter Alpha established lore that Bison's body would die out, and he would transfer his mind and powers to a new body so he would live on. Cammy is a clone of Bison and may have been intended to be a fem Bison. This Bison appears to be a clone but the mind transfer wasn't completed. Your concern on the KOF guests is valid. Mai and Terry will work fine because of Capcom vs SNK, as the 6 grooves give each character different play styles from various fighting games. Me personally, Terry and Mai plays great, if you're not familiar with their style. In regards to Mai Shiranui, she is a female legacy character in fighting games, up there in popularity with Chun-Li. Keep in mind that the co-creator of Street Fighter 1 left Capcom and created Fatal Fury.
I honestly don't mind guest characters in games, but it most likely *depends* on if they fit the theme! For example, in 2011's MK9, we got Kratos and Freddy Kruger, and they actually fit well in the game, since Mortal Kombat is all about blood, gore, intense violence, and supernatural theming. The God of War series has all the similarities to MK, so Kratos was a good fit. Freddy Kruger is a horror icon and Mortal Kombat had a bit of horror within it, so he too 100% fitted in. Then, with MKX, we got Jason Voorhees, Leatherface, Predator and Xenomorph, and just like MK9, they also fit well in the game, since they are known for horror, blood, and death themes. However, with MK11, imo was controversial. For my take, Spawn and The Terminator worked well, since one had horror and supernatural elements, while T-800 was only because of having cyborgs in, since MK has Cyrax, Sektor, Cyber Smoke, Cyber Sub-Zero, and Frost. But, with Robocop, Joker, and Rambo, don't get me wrong they're cool, but not many of them fitted the theme of Mortal Kombat. Now, with MK1, we so far have Omni-Man, Peacemaker and Homelander and well, their respective parties (Invincible, Peacemaker, and The Boys) all have blood and gore, but almost none of them have the supernatural elements in their shows and I feel like NRS just added them in because they are let's say they're fanboys/fangirls of those shows (I'm not saying it because I'm saying that there bad, I'm saying it in a general standpoint). With Tekken 7, we got Akuma (Street Fighter), Geese Howard (Fatal Fury), and Noctis (Final Fantasy). Akuma kinda fits (mostly because Capcom and Bandai Namco once made their 2012 crossover "Street Fighter x Tekken", and it was cool, but the gems and pandora systems really ruined it), then Geese Howard, since Fatal Fury and Tekken have a tournament within their gameing lore (especially since Fatal Fury and Art of Fighting are connected to the "King of Fighters"). However, with Noctis, it just was for fan favorite purposes (in my opinion)! Now with Street Fighter 6 (imo), Terry Bogard fits perfectly, since back in 90s we got SNK vs Capcom (and that chemistry dialogue between Ken Masters and Terry), but with Mai Shiranui, I feel like they've added her for *fan service purposes* Overall though, I do like guest characters, but they only work if they *fit* the theme of the game there in.
I stopped playing SF6 after I got bored of (leotard) Cammy. I might start playing again for Mai - if she looks hot. I love waifu types and SF6 doesnt have many of them.
having half of the pass be guest characters would be cool if it wasnt the second one. im also not a fan of bison coming back so early it just feels boring to me. would be so much better with terry, elena and 2 other sf characters
yeah I agree, I think if this was like the 4th or 5th battlepass... and we got like a good amount of other returning characters, i think "TWO GUEST CHARACTERS!?" would be my reaction instead of "oh... two of them...?"
@@nugieboy yeah like im not mad we are getting both mai and terry because its pretty cool. i just feel like for the second pass we atleast need more sf6 versions of street fighter characters before i can be hyped about getting some guest characters
@nugieboy My reaction was that it was bittersweet because half the pass was guest characters ( and I like guest characters) but one of them just had to be fuckin' Mai. The chick they just have to drag along otherwise SNK's perverted fans will try to burn down a building if they don't.

I think one of the only reasons why people were skeptical on Bison was cuz he’s supposed to be dead in the lore. Other than that he’s One of the 4 Kings. The Kings are OG my friend. Dictator, Claw, Boxer and Sagat.
I played SFIV, not SFV, so I don't know if there's a possibility they'd drop unannounced characters, but guest characters occupying slots is odd to me. Why not 4 SF characters + 2 guest characters. 1 year for 2 SF characters is wild.. hell, a whole year for just 4 SF characters kinda sucks too.
As I understand it Elena was broken and disliked because her hurtbox made some combos performed on her just drop and not work which is stupid because she wasn't just strong, she nerfed the character you played simply by existing. I highly doubt Capcom is bringing back the broken hurtbox and I don't think healing with a level 3 super would be as broken in this game because of how important invincible level 1s are (if they bring it back at all) so I'm fairly optimistic regarding her release next year seeing how well they did with Ed
I'm a boomer FG person, and guests in fighting games have gone through ups and downs. Back in the day, the rare guest was seen as like, pretty cool? I'd say it's the last generation that they've started to get controversial. I dunno if it's a shift in demographic, or something like the longer games have been around, the more characters there are to 'get in', so guests start 'taking up room.' I can't quite say what it is. (that said I believe that a lot of the 'silent majority' who buy games don't really mind them, but the online vocal folks are much louder.) Personally, I don't mind them, and in fact I think they can be really cool if they fit. I liked seeing Haoh in SC, for example, and love the horror icons in MK, etc. Like I think GBVS would be awesome to see Zenos from FFXIV in(OG Stormblood, 3 Katanas Zenos.) But I can also at least somewhat understand the PoV in this case. it's only Season 2, the roster is relatively small, and we're *already* getting two guests(Tekken 7 was pretty big already before Akuma was put in, same with Geese.) i again don't mind, since I'll totally play Terry(I'm a KOF/FF fan), but I also miss Claw and would love him back one season.

KOF characters? Why everyone think Terry and Mai are KOF characters? Man, nobody in the FGC remember Fatal Fury anymore? Young man, do yourself a favor and play Real Bout Fatal Fury Special and Real Bout Fatal Fury 2. SF6 versions of Terry and Mai come directly from these two games. Mai even has her design fro these two games in SF6 (barefooted and with a more discreet kimono in the chest area).
Also when's the last time there was a Fatal Fury game. Hell, in order to get one of the main guys to work on KOFXV ( whose season 2 also sucked) SNK had to agree yo make another Garou game. It's why we're getting that abd a new Art of Fighting.
Sf6 Year 3 Wishlist. 1. Vega 2. Makoto 3. Dudley 4. Sagat Lowkey could swap Sagat for any popular pick like Rose,C.Viper,Menat,Q. But we need dudley in this game
It's clear that you are ignorant to the history of street fighter and kof/fatal fury because if you had any understanding and or grew up with both games you wouldn't be saying what you are saying. Sol bad guy wishes he was terry first of all and Mai and Terry are perfect for sf6 There could literally be no one better then two top kof characters in sf6. Your understanding of these characters and the history is seriously low. Because anyone who has played and followed both games and companies would never say what your saying and like I said Mai and terry belong in sf6 more then any other character!!
