In the east, it's supposed to be so they can't sense that you're alive. In this game, it's purely so you make less noise, as the enemies aren't undead.

Its true, I just about spat out my Cornflakes when I saw the title of the game pop up. Used to hang around this area all through my younger days and knew the tales, there's an area near by called Kenfig Pool which also has a tale about it. My Dad used to tell me of the time he and his mates were camping at Kenfig Pool and hears the bell ringing so all legged it home! He also thought he saw the "Black Friar" in the old castle ruins above Margam Park.

@@Jash0192 You're right, and you can see a lot of references to Welsh activity and landscape in other films. LOTR/Tolkien has a good amount of Welsh influence.

I just got it for xbox and I've got the same issue. Its unplayable when the camera sensitivity feels like I'm controlling a delayed drunken boat. Idk how the devs didn't notice such an obvious issue for a first-person horror game.

Turn down the sensetivinty to around 16, turn on fxaa and turn off motion blur. That sorted it for me.

The game was based on a novel, the game is pretty close to the novel so maybe making the game was inspired by amnesia, but it had a whole novel that really made the game what it is

How is mouse smoothing more immersive? You don't slowly turn your head and eyes when you look around, that's a cinematic pan inherited from movies. If anything, having the controls immediately respond to your actions is more immersive.

i think someone mentions sker as scare in the game and thought maybe that was accent but felt it was clever maid of sker being maid of scare.

@@OldDolio312 I could not agree more! I’ve been SO disappointed with horror games lately, 99% of them let me down and are boring to play... But the best I have found so far I can recommend would be VISAGE. It’s actually fun, very well made, and probably the MOST horrifying experience I ever had.

Outlast is a gift from God. For me this game is not scary at all. For example it has a lot of ground, many hallways, but none of them build the tension. Unlike Silent Hill when graphics were much more dated, but the athmosphere was so terrifying, with many hallways as well (example the school), but every hallway was nerve wracking. Also P.T..... How can ONE hallway be more scary then hundreds? Plus it's also a half an hour game and this is what like 4 hours? I think it lacks story and atmosphere and I don't know, few things we haven't seen, not just running around finding clues. Now Outlast is a masterpiece and not very likely any game will be better that it. Outlast is still by far one of the most scariest games since 2013. I feel like this is just some kind of 'wannabe' of Outlast. The same as you have to hide or run from your enemies, you have objectives, no weapon... And don't get me started on Outlast 2, another brilliant masterpiece. I looooved how disturbing it was, how it included religion and Christ. Now that was amazing. Also 10 \10 for the monster. Another setback is lack of monolog. I like when the main protagonist is telling himself sth like "Am I going crazy?" or "What the hell was that thing?". Maybe that's just me. Overall (sorry for being boring) this game is boring for me. Not an interesting story really, monsters not scary at all (feels like slenderman) and the atmosphere is just dull. And the lady singing... I found it more beautiful then disturbing idk. My ratings: 2\10

I’m with you, I really wanted to finish this game due to the fact that since minute 1 I was in love with its breathtaking atmosphere (mainly the music and beautiful scenery), but the gameplay I found to be boring and just pretty bad which is a shame given how beautiful the game can be...

No dude. It's not. But it's not a walking simulator either. It's like RE7 with less combat and more puzzle shit the puzzles are actually good. Not too complex and a lot of stealth around horrific things.

@@ChefBezoz a good analogy would be if "Amnesia" and "RE7" had a lovechild. (with a dash of Re1 mixed in, because of the huge mansion.) It's good dude I'm already almost done with it
